Amiga 3000 w/accelerator & Ethernet (bad power supply)
As I've stated elsewhere, I'm giving in and moving to a 1200 for all my Amiga needs. So I've got a 3000 I'm not really going to be using anymore, and I figure it ought to go to a good home.
First, about the issue. The power supply is no longer working. I'm not sure if it's just age, or if it's a wiring issue (some of the external wires got a bit kinked up,) but I haven't made any repair attempts because I know nothing at all about working inside PSUs and would rather not find out what not to do the hard way. It gave out cleanly, just wouldn't power up; there were no sparks or anything, so everything else should still be in working order; if not, I'll refund for the bits that don't work.
As to the unit itself, it's not a beast of a machine, but it's not a bad little piece of equipment. Included is:
- The A3000 itself. 2MB chip, 8MB motherboard fast RAM. Cosmetically in pretty good condition, though there's a few paint chips and maybe a ding or two. I believe it's a Rev. 11 Buster, but I haven't checked in a while - it did work fine with my EGS Spectrum, which is supposed to have problems with Rev. 9. The floppy drive inside has "1.44MB HD" written on it in Sharpie, but I haven't tested this.
- One 800MB and one 5GB SCSI hard drive, with OS3.9 installed.
- GVP G-Force 040 accelerator. 28MHz 68040, filled out with the full 8MB RAM.
- Ariadne II Ethernet card.
I'm asking $225 + S/H for the whole thing; I may part it out if nobody wants it as-is.
