Received today! But I have to assemble it and drill holes? The pre marked holes do not line up with push button and jumper. Any help on how to get it assembled?
Hi, just to be clear...the cartridge is assembled, you are referring to the cartridge case.
The plastic cartridge case will either need 2 small holes drilling or simply cutting a square tab out to allow the jumper and reset to be accessible. Some people prefer holes, some people prefer tabs or other alternative methods. Also, included in the package there was a handful of Easyflash labels that you can choose whether or not to apply to the cartridge case.
There are no pre-marked holes, they are just part of Jens Schonfelds cartridge case design see here http://www.icomp.de/products/cases/Cart_case_top.png
Regardless of holes or tabs, you only need to drill/cut the top half of the cart case. Hope this helps
Cool, I have a few cartridge cases in different colours, so I can drill/cut/modify any I want. Good to know... and thanks for the labels also!

Drilled hole!! But decided to leave jumper inside.
What's the jumper do? Disable/Enable cart?

Anyone create and print a Prince of Persia label for these?
The jumper is to put the EasyFlash into Programming mode. You will have to open the cartridge every time you re-program your EasyFlash if you don't create a hole for it.
The EasyFlash is an amazing product. I've ended up with 5 of them and one EasyFlash 3!

Hey sorry I have been away.
So... thats looks some tasty precise drilling you've done there. great work. and as SDG has pointed out this jumper is to enable the easyflash to enter programming mode. I guess it depends on how you use the cart, I have one that the Jumper is covered as I use it to carry a pack of utils and things I use most often and therefore dont really need to reflash it often
Mine arrived today, 2x Easyflash in the mail makes for a very happy day.
Now I'm off to mark/drill holes in the cases.
Thank you for the extra labels as well, much appreciated.

DIY kits available for those who want to build their own.
Hi there, i´m interested in one Easyflash Cartridge. If possible i would prefer another game than Prince of persia.
I have built a couple of EasyFlash cartridges and they are very handy.
If these are based on 1.4.1_REV_B of the design then the jumper/switch is not to put the EasyFlash into programming mode, it it to bypass the cartridge if required just like TjLaZer said.
For programming with EasyProg the switch can be in any position.
The main purpose of the switch is to bypass the cartridge if it has a bad file flashed for example, that maybe has crashed the C64 and therefore not allowing you to run EasyProg to flash again.
This is directly from Skoe...
"If the switch is in the "Boot" position (switch to the left)
and the computer is reset, EasyFlash is started normally.
If the switch is in the “Disable” position (switch to the right)
and the computer is reset, EasyFlash cartridge memory is hidden.
However, software like EasyProg can write to the flash memory
because it can override the jumper setting."
or from his original assembly guide...
To let the C64 start with empty or badly programmed flash chips, move the boot switch to the position near the reset button"
Cheers,
Shane
No problem, how about I install the recent RGCD 16k competition entries
Just had a look at them and they are nice, but i would prefer project firestart :)

Thanks!
Hi , payment and postal info sent.
Interested, if any more are available. Postage within UK?
Also, any chance of it coming pre-built? My DIY skills are non-existent, i'd probably knacker it before I got a chance to use it :p
And, how easy is it to transfer software to and from the cart?
I'm interested in one as well, if still available.
Hi. The cartridges are pre-built but the cartridge case will need drilling/cutting to your tastes. I am happy to do this for you but it will take me a few days.
I have a number of these still available and are £30 (inclusive of postage)

Sure postage will be £2.75 unless you want tracked postage

Hi,
cartridge arrived today. Works great . Thanks for that.
Cart recieved.
Cartridge arrived yesterday. Works perfectly! Many thanks!
Is there one more of these , and if so could you post to Australia ?
for info these are great little devices i got 1 from gaz at revival this weekend and its perfect for the c64
cheers again mate
I bought a kit one from Gaz at the weekend, I can't wait to build it. But right now, I'm having a beer. ;)
Building an EasyFlash is good soldering fun. The smaller pins for the memory chips require a nice, small tip, but the rest of it is fairly straight forward. As always, cutting up the case is the hard part. :)
Enjoy!
Heather
I would be interest if there is one
Hi Gaz
Have you still got any left.
I presume they still work great on a 128 in 64 mode :coffee:
I can confirm that the EasyFlash works great on the C128 in C64 mode.
Heather
Thanks for the feedback Heather
Any chance you'll build the easyflash3? Seems like a very powerful cartridge!

Everyone,
The AmiBay Staff has been unable to find anything that would release the Prince of Persia game, or any ports of the game, to the public domain. Therefore, the sale of this cartridge (with Prince of Persia Pre-Loaded) is not allowed per AmiBay's rules.
If the seller can provide the staff with the appropriate documentation showing that he has the right to sell this cartridge with Prince of Persia then he should present it to the staff for review.
Thanks,
