The 2000 will give a black screen if..
CPU not present / contacting
Agnus not present / contacting
Among other faults - power etc
Mine had a green and yellow too because of the damaged CPU & agnus sockets .
Try a pinout buzz ( continuity test ) with a multimeter if possible

Cleaned the sockets with distilled vinegar and are now nice and bright and shiny... still a grey screen... I think Im heading down the wrong path though as the original problem with the machine when sblurter purchased it was a blown power supply which has now been replaced with an original A2000 supply and the voltages have been checked and are as they should be so I think Ive got to be looking at the components, the 47 & 22uf caps are the first thing I need to check and will likely just replace them all once I get the cash to do it as I need a decent iron and also find a working A500 and just change everything I can, and if all that doesnt work its going to make an interesting wall hanging lol :)Quote:

I would go for Agnus, CPU or Paula.
I had an A500 which iirc used to get stuck on grey screen and it turned out to be a faulty Paula.
Agnus is the only one I dont have, switched out everything else from a working A500 as did the previous owner :)Quote:

And make sure you buy a cheap PLCC removal tool. They cost like a couple of euro from any electronics supply shop or ebay.
I pick this board up now and again and have a scan over it... fresh pair of eyes and all that...
And came across a mark on the board under resistor pack RN5, part ID is A472G I removed it and took the pic which is below. The component itself outwardly doesnt appear to have any damage as far as I can see.....

Hmmm, tested with the multi meter and assuming the resistor pack is bussed and rated to 470ohm the readings came out at 466,467,466,467 ohms
