Not Sold: A1200 accelerator - Phase 5 Blizzard 1240 T-ERC
Due to running out of space I've decided to focus my Amiga hardware down to a few machines and am going to be selling off the "excess" bits. So my pain is your gain! ;)
I'm looking to sell my Phase 5, Blizzard 1240-T/ERC 040@40Mhz A1200 accelerator with 32MB of RAM (via 1 x 32MB SIMM). The card works fine (I tested it again on 28/5/09 and took a screengrab of sysinfo) and is a damn fast 040, it's no exaggeration to say that it transforms a stock A1200.

The SIMM is marked as follows

The PCB is actually marked as being a 1260 Mk II so I guess it could theoretically be upgraded to an 060 (perhaps?).

Details of the card from the Amiga Hardware Database (see here)
* processor 68040 @ 40 MHz / 68060 @ 50 MHz
o the 68040s are recycled from used Macs
* memory one 72 pin SIMM socket accepts up to 64 MB RAM, 70 ns or faster
* battery backed up clock

This card can take the optional (Note: I don't have one of these and it's not included!) Fast SCSI 2 DMA controller which besides the SCSI also adds another 72pin SIMM socket. I would say though that these are probably hard to find these days.
The card is designed for a towered A1200 (the SIMM hangs out of the trapdoor of a desktop A1200) but I've been using it in my desktop A1200 for a couple of years by elevating the A1200 with larger feet), I'm sure this isn't recommended though! Bear this in mind if you don't have a towered A1200.
My card has a small heat sink and CPU fan attached to the 040, I was powering the CPU fan via the floppy connector so there's no plug for the CPU fan (check the photos to see what I mean).

The card is boxed with the manual but has no driver disk. The box isn't in great condition (check the photos)

Drivers can be obtained from the Amiga Hardware Database and no doubt other places.
I'm in Scotland (UK), and I'm looking for £XXX (including delivery in the UK) for the card and if paid via bank transfer, or £XXX (including delivery in the UK) if paid via Paypal (difference is due to Paypal fees).
Any questions let me know and I'll do my best at answering them :)
Re: FS: A1200 accelerator - Phase 5 Blizzard 1240 T-ERC

Re: FS: A1200 accelerator - Phase 5 Blizzard 1240 T-ERC
What sort of Amiga are you planning to put it into?
Re: FS: A1200 accelerator - Phase 5 Blizzard 1240 T-ERC
@kmob, im guessing that with such a huge sink & fan, card is only usable in a Tower?
anyway, is it possible to replace it with a little fan so it can be good to use in a 1200 desktop?
@depredador: if you need further assistance, contact me por favor, as i can help you a lot with this!!!!

Re: FS: A1200 accelerator - Phase 5 Blizzard 1240 T-ERC
The HS is an "aftermarket" addon that could be removed if necessary, what stops it being suitable for a the trapdoor is the SIMMs.
But I have to be straight up here - it was designed and intended for a towered A1200 and that's how I have to describe it. The fact that I was using it in a desktop A1200 (with raised feet and an open trapdoor) is more down to me not having a tower than it being a good idea!

Ok lads, I’ll weigh the box when I get home and calculate some postage options to Spain. Sebastian, you’re next in line in case Depredador isn’t interested.

Depredador, postage costs to Spain (Royal Mail "Airsure Small Packets" based on the weight of 260 grams) is about £6.68.
So for delivery to Spain I'll take £153 delivered (if paid via bank transfer), or £158 via Paypal.
Let me know if you're interested or not.
Cheers.
