Re: FS: - X-Surf NIC
No worries, what`s the ide stuff like on it?

Re: FS: - X-Surf NIC
@Brataccas
the X-Surf is an awesome card
it giveth you this more than the Ariadne
- expansion ports 26 pin expansion port compatible with the one on the Buddha/Catweasel controllers[/*:m:1dwk4lfk]
- two clock ports for A1200 expansions[/*:m:1dwk4lfk]
- two IDE ports: 3,5" and 2,5"
[list:1dwk4lfk] - can be activated by the IDE-fix software package[/*:m:1dwk4lfk]
- autobooting is not possible with these ports[/*:m:1dwk4lfk]
- the timing is not configurable and preemptive use of IDE devices - necessary for CD-writers - is impossible [/*:m:1dwk4lfk]
[/*:m:1dwk4lfk][*]all expansion ports are independent from each other and can be used at the same time [/*:m:1dwk4lfk][/list:u:1dwk4lfk]
however it does taketh away the following
- the FIFO buffer is reduce to 16k (32k on Ariadne)[/*:m:1dwk4lfk]
- LED headers for Network Activity (not on x-Surf / but could be captured from NIC)[/*:m:1dwk4lfk]
- The DB25 parallel ports (Ariadne has 2 / X-Surf has none)[/*:m:1dwk4lfk]
hope that helps, you could run both these cards in tandem on the same system :D

Re: FS: - X-Surf NIC
@Brataccas
IDE speed will be depenent on the BUS Interface, as its Zorro 2, but I would expect a maximum of 3.5MB a second Data Transfer from IDE
