Commodore CBM PET 4016

Quite sad to be selling this really. I bought this beautiful PET in the hope of getting it full working order. However, I soon realised its beyond my knowledge and skills.

Not to sure about the pricing on this one but I'm looking for £70 which would mean recooping my investment.

As it said in the title its the PET 4016 model. I beleive its had the memory upgraded as there are no empty sockets on the mother board (can someone confirm).

Basically when I turn on the PET I get a screen full of symbols. Cosmetically its in great shape, no cracks, nice colouring. The keys are all free and seem to be responsive (of course this cant be determined in its current state).

Negatives - two small drill holes on the right hand side of the key board where it has previously had a badge fitted (non factory).

Approximately the same as a small car. Will find out for you 20kg ish.

That looks like typical Eprom bit rot, we can test and reprogramme them for you if you want.

Tell me more. Whats it likely to cost me and is the computer going to be worth what it costs to repair? Thanks gav

As long as you cover postage both ways I can test and program the eproms for you for free. If the device has failed we will have to find replacements.

Take some nice close up piccys of the board so I can advise further.
Thats if you are going to be comfortable removinng and inserting the chips.

Actually a good starting point would be to remove and reseat all socketed chips anyway, who knows you maybe lucky. Just make sure you reseat the chips back in the same socket you pulled them from, dont mean to patronise but you will be surprised believe me.

You could ask to move it from here to the photo booth or AmiOracle section and show the transformation to working beast :thumbsup: you could just edit the sale bits.

I'm sure there would be a lot of interest in the work :)
