Softmod Xbox

On sale I have my old original xbox which I bought several years back. It has the Slayers mod installed. Also on the outside of the casing is a switch - I could never figure out what it did. It also has a few blue led lights when turned on. The Hard drive size is large.
Also has media centres installed which read DVDs - burned DVDs amongst other things.

The only fault is that the eject button is a little tempremental - sometimes it ejects and sometimes not.

Also comes with an original xbox pad, power plug and AV cable.

I am looking for £40 which I will also include shipping for that price.

I don't know if anyone reading this cares but the latest version of XBMC4XBOX which is co-maintained by Amiga nut exoBuzz has been optimized for the new SD x264 HDTV-Rip TV and Movie releases that are now replacing XViD.

They play great on this 11yo hardware and look MUCH better than the comparable Xvid releases!

Wow interesting, I never knew this would happen at all. I may have to update my box and see how well they play. Thanks alexh

i would update mine but i bricked one before, and it wont ftp to my pc grrr

If you have your HDD key on your PC then it is an easy fix. Use a bootable XBOXHDM linux CD on your PC to unlock, fix and re-lock a bricked XBOX-1's HDD.

Or try to "hot-swap" the HDD?

Don't forget that with most bricked soft-mods you can still boot original games. Boot your softmod game (Splinter Cell 1), load the hacked softmod save game (assuming it's still on the hard drive). UnleashX will load and you have FTP access.

XBOX still cannot play most 720p x264 but the optimisations mean it can do the new SD TVRips in x264 format. Better quality. Smaller files.

@Flimbo, those switches on the front suggest the console is hard-modded with an xecutor modchip rather than softmodded mate.
