I can say it works with large hard drives. I used to have gvp rom 4.5 and it didn't work at all with my 73GB HD. Changing the rom to 4.15 fixed it.

At least with AmigaOS3.9 (and it's nsdpatch) and PFS3-filesystem installed, I can use all of it. :)
But only the partitions below 4GB are automounting. I have created mountlists for the rest of the partitions, so they're available once the system has completely booted.
Large drives, either 50 pins/68 or SCA80 should always run on OS3.9
You can run them on 3.1, but it creates a lot of troubles and you have to keep the partition size around 3.5GB each.
Try to keep in mind that the speed of the Guru ROM is around 3.5MB/sec, large files will still take time to transfer, only the GVP bus adapter chip 33C93A (synchronous) will reach 4.7 MB/sec
The HDD cache won't make a difference, you are limited to the speed of Buster.
Even Zorro III cards won't reach above 20MB/sec, only CPU cards like Cyberstorms.
GVP HC+8 or even the 4000 version are still Zorro II.
No need for nsdpatch or os3.9 if you use PFS3DS (direct scsi) + scsi controller. Big partitions work fine even under KS 2.x (and 1.3 if using special 1.x version)
A600/A1200/A4000 IDE has 8G limit with PFS3DS due to scsi emulation limit in ROM scsi.device but it does affect real SCSI controllers.
Guru-Rom adapter boards are still available? hmm must be hiding like ninjas? :ninja:
