Another one 1200 desktop (now with corset)

(this is old temporaly case, after i successfully fit all inside - i change case to brandnew)

The aluminum strips are installed so that would not interfere insert keyboard and close the case.
So they are very helpful to understand how much free space remains, and for fixing board.

The "all inside a1200 desktop" project:
- Blizzard ppc + BVision + 2*128mb
- Idefix express + ide2cf
- Blizzard scsi + acard 7720u scsi2ide + ide2cf
- Clockport expander
- Delfina
Still waiting for:
- Indivision 1200
- Subway usb
- Ratte vga switcher

Modification:
- Add power splitter in top of com-lpt port, directly from power socket.
- Change few 1200 capacitor orientation to save space.
- Removed tv-out (for Ratte vga switcher)
- Add pcmcia activity (right part of floppy led)
- Add scsi activity (right part of hdd led)
- Resolder the audio output through the micro-switch (1. output directly paula; 2. paula routed to delfina, output - delfina)
- Desolder mouse and game port, cables from board to ps/2 mouse board, and back to mouse and game port to it position.

Desolder connectors and solder cables to reduce the height:
- Ide and scsi connectors from acard scsi2ide
- Ide connectors from both ide2cf
- Input ide44 connectors from idefix express
- Power connector to acard, two ide2cf

The project was created with the idea of ​​minimal change in the Amiga and the case that would look like original.

Has decided not install Cd-rom because of the large changes in case and increasing density of the boards too. But in idefix remained free 40pin ports, so that the cdrom can be connected temporarily, just open the top cover.

But at least this way, he can safely see that the keyboard wont touch anything.

I like it too. Talk about a maxed-out 1200!

However, it's probably a good idea to insulate those IDE headers on the left (or the metal above it). The floppy cable too could be made more 'space-efficient', by stripping it into individual cables and twisting them into a round shape.

I can't help but feel those bars would get in the way (even though they look fairly easily removable). Changing hd or accelerator looks a bit of a chore.

Board idefix fixed very tightly, so that the ide is not in danger.

It is still a temporary layout, as I'm still not 100% sure where it will be fixed boards. I will make a short cables, when it's over.

there CF cards instead hard drive, so it removed/changed very easy. And nothing interfer accelerator - disconnect leds, power, scsi, vga and you can remove it.

Outstanding work on the ACard+CF2IDE combo man. Really nice job there.
Will be keeping an eye on the project of yours mate.

Many ideas have been taken from your project (thank you), but I do not want to lose floppy drive.
Yes, ide and scsi resoldering took me over 4 hours, boring work.
I feel that I still have to solder directly scsi to acard - connector takes up space.

Ye soldering directly the scsi thin cable would be really nice!
Sadly I couldn't do all that desoldering without a proper desoldering gun. The regular desoldering pump which I have is ok for regular holes but for such a work is a no-no.
That's why I lost the floppy drive. A reason for not keeping my A1200 beast was that though. To be able to do it as I wanted, it required heavy modification and more tools which I didn't have the appetite at the time.
The buffing of an A4000 and my current A600 was a more sane solution for me.

Gz for your effort mate and I'll be watching it closely.
