Gamecube mod chip

Anyone have a mod chip for sale for my Pal GC? Or can recommend one?

There were 4 that I know of

Qoob Pro
Qoob SX
Viper GC Extreme
Xeno GC

But you can use DML on the Wii to play most games.

Wii is in the living room, so that doesn't help much:)

basically all you can get from there is the "GC Qoob PRO" (which is fine AFAIK) , all others are sold out...
I have used XenoGC and ViperGC (both normal and extreme) , and I advice to anything but the xenogc... it's crap.

why is the xenogc crap?

First important reason is because it's "patch" is laughable at best (I strongly believe there is no media id's database or anything similar - just a controller patch to bypass/fool verification that leads to tremendous problems like laser wearing off) and second and most important reason (for me) is that I have seen 3 GCs to this day that either malfunction or have completelly dead drives , all 3 had xenogc chips installed by different ppl in different times...
Even I personally tested one, using the same burned disk on the same gamecube: xenogc just failed miserably whereas a vipergc loaded and played for several years just fine.
There is good reason xenogc are cheap (and they have always been)...

....but ofcourse, your mileage may vary :)

I had a Xeno in my GC a while ago and played everything I threw at it.

In any case I'm only in it for imports, not cd-r's.

in that case I guess any chip would be OK :)

XenoGC chips have been ok for me but the GC can be very fussy with certain disks/images etc. (I have read about this all over the net) - I got a couple of XenoGC's from EurAsia last time - they have stock by the looks of it at present.

They can be a challenge to install as everything is very small.
