Not gonna go into to much detail... but suficed to say, one can expect a thread or two on these... very soon =)
Aha Zetr0,
those wouldn't be the IDE internal Z80 plug in boards that fit into the +2 +3 spectrum would they ie sits in the Z80 socket and has the Z80 fitted on board giving access to the ROM directly. (I read a bit on one of your threads and this looks like it from the description)
Nice boards and plated through holes too
@Allan1
It might be ;)
It also works with the 48k and 48k+ (since the latter is the same motherboard)
(yes thats an IDE device - CF/Harddisk or even Zip/LS120 on your humble rubber key spectrum)
These will work with the 128k toastie and the 128k +2 (Grey) but the board would need a modification to four of the address lines.
The +2A/B and the +3 use the +3e ROM, where as the other models would use the PP ROM (Pera Putnik) - theres a whole lot of guides gonna be going up this week lol!
Wow that's brilliant,
I didn't know that the other versions of the old speccy could also use the same method too apart from an external edge connection. I still have my +D interface and 3 1/2" floppy drive for my 48k ones and a Miles Gordon Technology 3 1/2" external floppy drive for my +3 but the idea of making or buying an affordable internal card for my +3 is appealing, especially when it is connected to a CF/Harddisk (maybe even that could fit internally in a +2/+3) and no more failing floppy disks.
I'm looking forward to your guides, things just keep getting better for our old favourite bits of hardware
So, After selling a bunch of Amiga's, I finally broke down, after whining for over a year, a decent (or what I think is a Decent) Solder station. Got it on the otherbay for about a third of what they were regularly going for from a fellow Albertain, with a whole whack of extras.
The soldering Guru's will let me know if I wasted my money. It's a Weller wes51.
Came with all you see. It is replacing my Nexxtech $15 POS, that takes over an hour to heat and I keep burning myself on the :censored: thing.
Now to just find a manual and figure out how to Tighten the tips in place
 Ok figured it out, the elcheapo iron just has a screw holding it in place, I see I had to unscrew the shaft and drop it in:p
and I just got another box of games that were found in the previous storage space:

...I'm feelin' lucky :D
StarCraft, brilliant game. :)
Just picked up my Everdrive MD from Keith, it's full of awesome! :D
Spent the evening testing it round his on my MD II with Mega CD and 32x.
Played around with various ROMs, Master system, MegaDrive and 32x and am now looking to Mod chip all 3 for extensive use of interesting import games.
One limitation we discovered is that the Master system ROMs work just fine on the MD & MegaCD alone, but won't run with the 32x fitted. A minor down, but I think this is a known issue with existing Master system to MD adapters.
Otherwise a brilliant piece of kit, well worth the pennies. Mucho gracias buddy!
My pleasure buddy, it was a lot of fun!!
Now dont forget to try out the Miggy version of Mega-lo-mania =D
