Post here everytime you get something new!

A few interesting bits arrived over the last couple of days:

Firstly, an Arduino-compatible board...

...which I'm going to use in an infra-red project. A friend of mine's elderly father has just had a freesat box installed for £notmuch thanks to the Government's help scheme, since his analogue signal goes away in a couple of weeks. One problem: he's partially sighted and doesn't have much feeling in his fingertips, so he doesn't have a prayer of using the remote that came with it. So we tried to get a one-for-all device, but of course the box is too new to be supported as yet. The "learning" type are all (a) pretty pricey, and (b) not much of an improvement accessibility-wise, so what I'm going to try and do is rig up a "translator" that receives infra-red commands from a zapper he can use, and sends commands to the freesat box in response. Fun times!

You can get large button remotes which maybe of some use? Might be worth a punt as it's not too expensive...

Yeah one of those might do the job - but unless it's a learning type it won't support this freesat box yet. In six months' time once the compatible remotes have caught up it might be a different story - but one of those might be a good choice for the "master" remote, with the Arduino translating from that to the actual devices we're trying to control.

Got my SX1 last week. A new cd32 mono later and lot's of messing around with HDD's, this is the end result. Looks quite cool with the black keyboard and mouse. Now just need to paint the floppy :)

I had to buy this for my Atari 1040STF it makes swapping out joysticks
and mouse alot easier and it was cheap..

Bought a new CF-IDE adapter (SD-IDE2UCF1-C) + CF card today..
Im assuming/hoping its compatible with my A1200 + idefix. :p

The noise of my harddrives are making me crazy! :blink:

Edit: Worked perfect! The nice thing is that the adapter has both 40 and 44 way connectors. Recommendable!
