No Pics yet, they come tomorrow! But I just secured a deal for a 42in no HD LCD (or maybe a Plasma) TV from a local seller and I'm going to set up all my consoles ready to play
This was inspired by SDG's recent 'Gaming Room' thread
Now I just need a La-Z-Boy recliner and I'm good to go!
Will be running them through my HiFi also :ninja:
BTW I pick up the TV tomorrow AM :coffee:
LOL! I'm happy to be a bad influence on you. I'm sure your significant other will be ecstatic. :p Be sure to post lots of pics!
I still use an old receiver in my living room entertainment system. That one will go in my game room whenever I decide to upgrade.
Heather
Thanks!
I have the following consoles which right now are all boxed and only come out one at a time to play on either my main TV or one that's being used by an Amiga!
PC Engine/Core GrafX
Sega Saturn (White Jap/Modded)
WonderMega (Jap)
MegaDrive II + Everdrive
PS2 Slim
N64
Neo Geo CD
CD32 + SX1/FMV
This little lot should keep me busy :ninja:
Oh and I'm getting my hands on a Dreamcast on Tuesday
Pics will indeed follow
Got a Rhino KM133A-ASE AMD K7 board. I've been wanting to put together a late-P3-era games machine for a while now, and I found this board while browsing through Computer Renaissance. (I didn't even know there were still Computer Renaissance stores around, but holy crap, there are - and they actually still deal in older hardware!) It's nice as it supports PC133 and AGP, but also has an ISA slot for my spare AWE32 - which means I can have nice high-quality wavetable MIDI and FM in addition to modern audio.
Now I just need a case and PSU...
Also got a proper desoldering iron, finally - should be a lot handier than swapping between a soldering iron and vacuum-pump solder-sucker!
Hi guys
Well at last I did it I got my Gaming rig updated:thumbsup:
I am now a proud owner of an OCZ 120 Gig SSD and a Nvidia 470 graphics card so it brings my system almost upto date. Getting 60FPS in Battlefield 3 when it does not crash (Battlefield not my Rig)
the Zotac 470 is awesome as much as I would have loved a 5 series card when I did a little research I found the 470 is as fast as the 560ti in most games so why pay the extra 50plus quid.
OCZ drive has made such a difference no more waiting for windows 7 to start responding after startup its ready to go as soon as the desktop comes up.
Only one thing left to get and thats a combined USB3 and Sata3 6gig card.
I was going to upgrade my Motherboard and CPU to the new 1155 system but again I read up and found in real world terms I would not gain anything unless I go high spec. So my Old I5 is doing great.
thanks for looking
Al
Sadly the Wife foiled my plans for 'Gaming Corner' :(
I'm told I can set up one or two systems on the main TV and that's it
Sorry to hear Steve. :( Too bad you can find a nice cabinet that could contain and hide everything while still having it hooked up. Your wife would probably let you get away with it if she didn't have to see it or worry about company seeing it. :)
Good luck with the Dreamcast! It's really a wonderful console.
