That label does not look original...
Indeed, it looks way too grey to match the original color imho. And what's that peeling off from the edges of the label? Protective plastic?
it presumably has an "Amiga 2000HD" sticker underneath, since a 2500 is just a 2000 that was packaged with an accelerator (020 or 030)

Yes, but this is (supposed to be) an A2500UX, which is pretty damn rare (the A3000UX for instance is far more common).
As far as I can see from other images on the web they werent sold with a random cheap slap-on sticker, but with a decent label that matches the original A2000 color.
The 2500UX sticker is original. I've seen it myself back in the day. AFAIK it was retrofitted on the machines made in Germany, as Commodore sold them with Unix on it.
I remember I was horrified to learn this as a teenager since I couldn't for the life of me understand why someone would forfeit the lovely Amiga 2.x OS for the almost malicious seeming Unix. :)
With Linux, my *nix appreciation of that OS family has only slightly improved :-P
I jest :)
But I remember it as my first meeting with an A2500, I took it apart (to the owners horror), only to conclude that it was "a real Amiga", and that he could use it as such if he wanted. However, I did recommend him to get a 1200 or 4000 as (to my flawed knowledge at the time) they were "superior" machines
The A2500 guy got a set of WB disks from me, and we didn't speak again. I dunno what he did, I think he got himself a Mac but I think he had a disappointing first meet with Amiga.
But it is quite odd to see a 2500ux that came with tape drive and ethernet card without neither. and should also sport a 020 or 030 afaik. (well, one 3.5" has different color from the body so could have been removed at a stage)
I'd say that the tapedrive and ethernet card has been stripped from it. But yeah, when you mention it, they are missing. Well spotted agent!
I'm sorry to be a grammar nazi here, but I saw this and imagined all the people that might learn from it and make the same mistake.
Pretty horrific!
This should read:
"it is quite odd to see a 2500ux that came with tape drive and ethernet card, without either."
or
"it is quite odd to see a 2500ux that came with tape drive and ethernet card, with neither."
:coffee:
(I'm really sorry)
