Rescued me an original IBM PC from the recycle center on Thursday, and after a little TLC (Troubleshooting Lazy Capacitors) it's up and running, the beast of a 20MB ST-225 hard drive still chugging along like thirty years ain't even a thing. Appears to have belonged to a Travelers insurance agency, which filled the hard drive with boring junk, but on the other hand, they loaded it up with a whopping 640KB, so what the hey.
Lucky I had a monochrome monitor and XT keyboard laying around!
very nice! and very apt as I've just modelled one of these for Viva Amiga! not owned one myself so not too sure how well I've done, what do you think?

Meant to post this yesterday, but ultimately didn't have the time... Everything I was waiting for arrived at once, for possibly the first time ever.

Got some new things for my video game merchandise collection - blue raspberry sour sweets in a PSP tin (they didn't last long  ), fruit and peppermint chewing gum in an Atari 2600 joystick tin, and a Clank plush to go with Ratchet (so now I have both of them) - and the SCART cable for my beloved C64C.
And here's a closer look at the PSP sweets, since, neatly, they were etched with the PlayStation button icons;

I've been busy, myself...:)
1- TS1000, the ZX81 used in USA. Have the latest ULA and now with composite out. My first computer ever! :)
1.1- Original Sinclair 16kb RAM pack, the wobbler ©
2- TK 90X, the Brazilian clone of the Spectrum. 48kb internally.
3- The real thing. Same as above.
4- CP500, the Brazilian clone of the Tandy TRS80 with its mighty 64kb of RAM, dual Z80 CPU and 30kg weight (my back hurts...)
Overall very nice, but just to nitpick, it looks (a bit difficult to say for sure from that angle) like the case is the same color going all the way back; if you look at my photo, you can see that the front is a plastic bezel in a light beige, about an inch deep, while the case farther back is a darker greyish painted sheet metal...
hi, you are correct it does look like the same colour for both the front housing and the metal casing, but it's just the light and/or angle of that particular scene, not sure why. i have another angle of it rendered out and you can clearly see it's different - the metal also has a slight roughness/bump to it to give a bit of texture and to better match the overall look.
thanks for looking and commenting :)
could you do me a favour and upload a pic of the back ports for me? i intend to do them but i can't find a good/clear picture online. the straighter the better if that's ok :)
cheers,
mrP

im actually happy with it to be honest. could have spend twice as much to buy the same machine. but this was a BIN on ebay and i snapped it up. "wife was not happy. but its about time i get to spoil my self a little lol"
went fishing round the house and found 4g of ram for it so it now has 6Gb total.
I also found an 8400gs low profile pci card today i thought i had lost. so stuck that in there. "was going to buy a 6440 but on board was plenty i was just being greedy so 8400gs it stays)
and thanx to keropi it has a SB audigy se card in it which is perfect for what i want to use the system for.
its a E6400 cpu @ 2.13 Ghz (i cant over clock due to mother board but for once i dont mind lol)
i have also orderd an exta addon for it which will complete the whole lot.
which is 1 of these doo dahs.

its a herculese mp3 e2.
after much searching and research it seems that this is the only controller that was within my price range. had the functions i wanted. and would fit on the space i have on my desk without being ridiculously small.
over all i am very happy with all this.
i did have to sell pretty much every thing els i had, and left my self a bit short for the next 4 days. but we have food, we have electricity and we have some emergency money i hide away so we will be fine.
Did i mention i am very happy about this lol.
