Brill - thanks very much!
decided to go to the Thrift Shops again today, this time to the NE of Calgary (the other day was in the South)
there are tons of these in Calgary, about 4 that i can easily get to in the NE, 3 sort of mid-south and 2 more further south...
there's at least 5-6 more that i never get to as i would really need a car to go to them (they aren't anywhere near our LRT system)
not much in the way of computer-y stuff again (much rarer these days), but a bit more in the way of gaming stuff, which keeps me happy anyways.
1: a boxed copy of GURPS, Basic Set (1987) (a nice find for me, this is really the gaming stuff i am into, things from my childhood/teen years, i had this one and lost it along the way)
2: AD&D Monstrous Manual
3: Fighting Fantasy #4: Starship Traveller
4: Choose Your Own Adventure #6: Your Code Name is Jonah (1981) (trying to complete this series as well as other gamebooks)
5: CYOA #12: Inside UFA 54-40 (1982)
6: CYOA #4: Your Very Own Robot (1982) (Younger Readers Edition)
7: 2 unopened packs of 25 HD 3.5" FDs
8: a pair of Laplink serial cables
9: Myth Adventures One (1985) graphic novel
10: Clash of the Titans (2010) BluRay
Oh man, those CYOA books are giving me a complete nostalgia trip...I might have to see if I can order them somewhere :)
Chooseco did some reproductions in 2005 so it shouldnt be that hard, i am a bit more into the Fighting Fantasy ones (like Starship Traveller) and thier 'clones' (Middle Earth/Tolkien Quests were good)
i also liked the 'You Are an Interplanetary Spy' ones, but i haven't seen any around in a long time.
(i also keep my eyes open for Endless Quest (D&D version of CYOA), Find Your Fate (i only have one of the Indiana Jones ones) and Zork Quest (i have the first 3))
If it's of any interest, they did a pair of Lemmings ones, too, in 1995 (Lemmings Adventure Gamebook 1: The Genesis Quest, and Lemmings Adventure Gamebook 2: The Hypnosis Enigma; Info here, and cover images here), but I'm not sure if they ever made it out of the UK. ;)
There were a few video game-based ones sold here, actually - there were several Super Mario and Sonic The Hedgehog ones, too, with the latter ones made specifically for the UK market (I can't remember if the Mario ones were or not)...
don't think i have ever seen them here, Canada gets about 95% of what the US does, its essentially the same market :/ (though usually with slightly higher prices due to additional distributions costs and exchange rates)
looks like UK release only

Today I received...
Attachment 73662
1. Logitech SoundMan 16 (or a Media Vision Pro Audio Spectrum 16LL (yep, same card!)) Like new, with box, manuals and drivers.
2. TWO Covox Speech Things. And two different models too! I wonder how different they sound from each other.
Nice! I've got the same one and it works great! I would recommend putting a dot showing the orientation of how the chip should go since it's easy to forget that detail when you are in a hurry. I would know... ;)
