My new A2000 A
I now have the A2000 I bought last month. I've fully cleaned it up (it had more dirt/dust inside than nearly any machine I've seen) and inspected it. I was in the middle of testing drives, cards etc when a capacitor in the power supply decided to pop. I'll have to put off any testing until I can repair the unit.
It's a very early machine with a Rev. 4 Motherboard. One of the first ones made in West Germany before Dave Haynie got his hands on the design and made it better. It's in very nice condition with the exception of the holes the original owner drilled in first the drive blank and the front panel for the activity light of the PC HDD he installed. I'll have to replace those.
It has a Cherry Keyboard, SupraRam Card and A2088XT Bridge Board with an MFM Drive Controller. It also has what I've come to understand is a very rare SCSI card, the SurpaDrive 2000 with DMA.

Demonstrating that I can no longer be trusted to leave the house without spending money... (It's probably a good thing I am not married)...I went out with the intention of just buying some produce at a local market...which happens to be on the way to my local comic shop (which is now also a new and used games shop as well...) and I pass a large used book store on the way to both...
browsing no longer stays just browsing any more :p (the catch-22 of getting that rent subsidy I suppose...)
so I grabbed...
Railway Rivals - The Game of Steam Power (GW, 1985)
Battletech - Mercenary's Handbook (FASA, 1987)
Middle Earth Quest - Rescue in Mirkwood (I.C.E., 1985)

Just finished that project.
This is an Av Mod on the Magnavox Odyssey 1, this is the final look :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RADI73vTj2o
Before that, i posted a bigger video with much more details (if you are interested), but if you familiar with this system, you probably noticed that the net (called Wall in fact...), is too thin. Well it was my fault, i had a big large net at first time, but i found it strange so i tuned my mod differently (in fact it's just a question of resistors...). The precedent video got the right "screen look".

Luck Find
I went to an estate sale in October and picked up a large amount of stuff. I've been slowly sorting through it ever since.
One thing I grabbed was a rather unfortunate looking A1000. It had a 1080, keyboard w/cable, mouse, and Comspec expansion.
It didn't work so I opened it up. The psu was unplugged and not screwed in, so I fixed that. To my surprise it has a DKB Insider I RAM board that appears to have been professionally installed. I powered it on again and it asked for a kickstart disk. The memory shows up in Workbench so I'm guessing the board is good.
I wondered why they original owner wanted the side expansion as well, that's a lot of memory for an A1000. However, upon closer examination this was not an AX1000/AX2000. It's the very rare SA1000 SCSI expansion.
Between this and the SupraDrive 2000 I found in my new A2000 I'm acquiring some very cool stuff these days. Guess I need to take some high quality photos for the BBOAH.
Looking through the pile of disks from the sale I found the one for this thing!

Got this :-
Attachment 130502
at a local flea market - not supposed to mention price - well it was almost nothing.
256GB SSD - a bit last years model - its only SATA II - and not the highest performing brand .... but my current "main" PC only has SATA II anyway :-)
Got it as faulty - bloke had apparently tried to make it work, but couldn't manage it. Kinda turned my nose up a bit - didn't rate its chances, but thought it'd be something to tinker with on a cold miserable Sunday afternoon. Hooked it up via USB<->SATA - detected but couldn't format it or query it etc .....
30 mins of googling/research later - got a firmware updater - ran that (bit of hoop-jumping involved) - and BINGO !! Could do everything with it - resotored to health :-) :-) :-)
WELL chuffed.
Actually I got it just before Xmas, but only got around to thoroughly checking it out last night. Installed win 7 to it + screeds of updates - and its fine.

I picked these up recently. The Amiga World Premiere issue is shelf-worn but unread and still has all the subscription and other cards inside. I've ordered a display frame for it.
