Just picked up my Rev C HxC Floppy Emulator at the Post Office! I'm going to do a full review of this device soon (hopefully this weekend).

You know...I made my A4000 an WHDLoad machine and sometimes regret it. As cool as it is I really miss the cracktos/trainers. I thought about getting one of these too so I am also interested in the review. I would also like to know if the load times are faster or the same approx.
After a quick game of eBay chicken, I managed to get a Quad core 2.5 G5 based Power mac to replace my 2.0 Dual G5 Processor.
Old one looked like:

New shiny one!

what a waste of money..
Maybe I could breed them and sell the Mac Minis or something..
I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl..
I think thats a real saying.. :) anyway..
I had to sell a few bits on evilbay (sorry) to raise funds but I have acquired - not yet arrived, maybe a week away - an RML 380Z.
one of these monsters:

it was the 1st proper computer I ever used, my school had one and me and and mates hogged it for a year about 1980-1981. I co-wrote a space invaders game (err, I called it Ace Invaders) in basic after I found how relatively quickly it could draw and modify strings instead of drawing individual ascii characters on screen (I pause a moment before calling it art or assets :) ) and I learnt a load from that.
Its bloody big though, gonna dominate the office, and have to do some fibbing to the wife how I got it as well. Maybe I can tell her its for the kids education. Yes that'll work :)
I've no CP/M or other disks yet, I've posted on the yahoo groups hopewfully some kind soul will help me out. Would love to find paper manuals but that might take another 30 years!
yay!
What a beast. Love the look, though.
Just bought this on evilbay:
Amiga 2000 motherboard in very good condition, tested working, specs:
Rev 4.3
1mb ram
8370 Agnus
KS 3.1 rom
The battery was removed and the board seem to be undamaged by any spillage.
Really cheap. I'm planning to mount it in a modern PC casing (with a bit of dremel & solder work for the Zorro slot.
Now I'm going to need some info:
- How to use a PC PSU with the A2000
- How to use a PC keyboard (I was thinking of buying the AmigaOne keyboard)
- How to use a PC floppy or where to find one or two A2000 FDD
- Where to find or how to build longer FDD cable for the A2000
So, please, if any of you can tell me how to do those four things I would appreciate it.
Check AmigaKit.
they have an ATX to A2000 converter (dirt cheap)
they have replacement floppy drives that are just a smidge smaller than the A2000 drives (and white) but work perfectly.
They have and make all cables (st0ck floppy cables)
the only thing they don't have is a keyboard converter, but they may have them too.
