I recently purchased the Hollywood Suite. I haven't had chance to try it out yet, but my hope is that I can use it at work, thus supporting the Amiga whilst simultaneously doing my 9 to 5.
This arrived on Saturday along with some games (Super Mario Bros 1 & 3, Wrecking Crew and another game) :)
Next, need to do the AV MOD as black & white RF sucks :)

Is that a Castlevania I spy? Now you need to get yourself a copy of Akumajou Densetsu...
A new addition to my collection. Texas Instruments TI 99/4A complete with stale smoke smell
The seller showed in working in the listing and kindly sent it to me without a plug
Pin 1 on the back port is broken and the joystick(?) port has Vaseline or something in it...

Nice! Just a thought, did they remove the plug because generally "back in the day" they were boxed without a plug and you had to fit your own?
I've always had trouble getting old speccys and commodores back in their boxes with the plug attached.
Alternatively of course, the seller is a real tightwad!
Or to show it working he's just pushed the wires into the plug socket (NOT RECOMMENDED) as i saw my dad do a few times when i was young and appliances didn't have plugs...
Apparently he had it hooked up to multi-voltage-thing-a-ma-bob (tm) where he just needed to insert the wires and completely forgot to put a plug on after he'd finished with it which is fair enough. So I went into the garage, found a spare plug but could I find a 3A fuse? Not even a 5A for good measure! Finally I managed to find one in a shaver adapter which is fine as I don't use an electric shaver. Turned it on and there was a power light and no smoke. Went to connect the aerial to the RF unit... it needed a male to male aerial lead  Not even one with a jack in one end like the Master System etc. Had a quick look through my everyday cables but couldn't find anything so I was forced to go into the attic of fear (well only if you hate spiders, this is the countryside... ) and search the that strange box full of wires that everyone seems to have for no good reason...

Pegasos II + G4 CPU and 1GB RAM - Thanks to Atreus. Took a shot of the motherboard with my ATI 9200 256MB RAM/SB Live card and 2 x 1GB DDR RAM (hopefully works) all waiting for a case to go into. Not sure what yet.
Also received my Gotek FDD thanks to the talented mjnurney. But will have to take another photo when I get a chance :-)
very cool! pegasos ii was such an awesome motherboard.
Today, I received a PC Engine Duo-R :D:D:D:thumbsup:

Does anyone know if I can use the Megadrive 2 PSU? I think I can but I want to make sure. The NEC one outputs 9V 1A whereas the Sega one is 10V 850mA and the third party one I have is 9V 1.2A although the polarity looks all wrong on the last one :(
Attachment 69521
Don't suppose you have a Multimega do you? That has the same smaller connector as the md2 psu but is 9v 1.2a (well mine is at least).
p.s. Another lovely looking machine :)
Thanks  No multimega yet unfortunately.

Thanks TC. That's the way I've gone but it looks a little unstable lol.

The weird thing is I bought the PSU on the far right picture in the previous post as a MD2 PSU but when it arrived it seemed to have the MD2 connector already on the end rather than using the adapter in the listing photo. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261266905369. I'll send it over and see what you make of it. If it is the wrong polarity it's no use as it is at the moment so will need correcting

I'll try the CD tonight...
One of my big regrets is selling my multimega a few years back. absolutely lovely machine though it has skyrocketed in value since then
I solved my (lack of) monitor problem. :)
SONY BVM-20E1U Broadcast Quality Monitor w/ BKM-24N NTSC Analog Expansion Card. Cheap too, ~xxxx (~xxxx for shipping, the thing weighs 30 kilos).
If you get a chance to lay your hands on one of these (the "E" is the best, the "F" is very, very, good, and the "G" is still great), I would snatch it up. The only drawback (as an Amiga owner) is the lack of NTSC/PAL dual mode (something that the 14" does have in certain models). The "U" designation is for NTSC, and the "E" is for PAL.
It'll take a few weeks before i can pick them up and take some pics, but i just closed a deal on the following set of consoles: a Playdia, a 3Do, a brand new Atari 7800, a Nintendo Color TV Game 6, a Mk1 Master System and an Epoch Cassette Vision Jr.
Happy :D
Actually the best unit is the Sony pvm20m4E , it's 800 lines and supports all world video standards. As a bonus they also support 16:9 SD modes and YUV (Component) video.
I have my eye on one but the seller won't ship to Melbourne which sucks as it's about the same price as a much inferior Aussie C= 1084s !
EDIT: argh the 20 won't fit in my spot, I'll need to look at a pvm14m2e (600 lines) instead :(
Hey djos, what cables would I need to connect these monitors to an Amiga/ST or a C64/Atari XE for example?

It does do NTSC and PAL, which is sweet. I missed that when I was going over the specs for it (don't know how, but I did). I actually had been looking at one of those earlier, but I switched to the BVM when I came across this posting:
http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=43256
The BVM has slightly better specs (although the difference is probably negligible). 1000 lines instead of 800 (a .25mm pitch compared to the .31mm on the PVM) is the big difference. That's about it, I would have been happy with either.
But if I had it to do over again, I would probably-maybe-possibly still go for the BVM again since it can be set up for multiple machines fairly easily (up to 99 I think) and my PAL/NTSC problem is pretty much limited to the Commodore (and not all that much of a big deal at that). I plan on using it for any/all of my gaming rigs and being able to easily swap between inputs looks enticing... But the PVM is an excellent set as well. :)
Out of curiosity, I checked what a PVM squeezed into a 22x22x24 box would cost to ship to Melbourne (barely 2" of padding per side. The price goes up exponentially as the size increases). As you would say, Crikey! :o I used http://www.parcelzoom.com/ for the quote, do you know of a better site?
Hi mate, I have no idea what the Atari requirements are, but C64 and Amiga is fairly easy:
C64 = buy 2x BNC-RCA adaptors, get normal C= c64 video cable and connect it to the Y & C inputs for video and use the normal audio jack
Amiga = the best option imo is a SCART-BNC Cable adapter or with Sync Stripper and an Amiga-SCART Cable.
Here's the specs for the M4E/M2E PVM's:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...C14M4%2CM2.pdf
PS, if you buy the SCART-BNC adapter for an Amiga you can use the C64-SCART cable from Retro Gaming Cables.

Lol, we can buy the PVM's here in Aus for a reasonable price from FleaBay so Im happy to buy local - also that way I know it was calibrated for PAL to start with.
I must admit I've never seen a BVM before as they are damned pricey still!!

It might not be a secret that I love the SID chip...
I received the late 40-year birthday present for myself today. :)

It's an Apple IIGS ROM01. Just the plain unit, no cards, mass storages or other peripherals.
I have one problem, though. I bought a step down converter but it only takes two-prong plugs and the Apple came with a three-prong plug. I probably have to use an european kettle lead and a two prong travel adapter.
Got a Gametel joypad for my new Nexus 5;

The manufacturer are really amazingly helpful, as well. I e-mailed them because there's no Linux-based firmware updater for the device available on their website, and they e-mailed back within a matter of hours, providing a link and instructions for a Linux updater that's not on the site only because they've not been able to thoroughly test it yet. It worked a treat, and the joypad works really nicely once you get it paired, too.
There's something distinctly sci-fi about playing Bubble Bobble, which I once played on a giant cabinet at a local eatery, on a pocket-sized portable telephone that can wirelessly connect to an international network of computers, and have software delivered to it over the air...
Zap, the Crystal Connection, Repton - The Lost Realms for BBC and Electron, and a load of Slogger boards I completely wasn't expecting to actually turn up :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Happy Days!!!
