Good to know you weren't still in them. :D
Heather
I came back from Revival with a boxed CDI-210 and 7 films (mostly Star Trek), a boxed Super 32X and 4 boxed games, a Supercard DSOneI flash cartridge and an Amstrad PPC640 (Thanks to Davideo).
No pics at the moment as i'm knackered from lugging all that lot home in my suitcase
I hope you got a bargain because damn most of the stuff there was extortionate. Only bargains I picked up was a new boxed CD32 game and Dr Muto for the PS2.
even at the end of the day some sellers wouldn't budge though...
Extortionate in what way....
Because the traders have to pay for..
Van rentals
Fuel costs
Accomodation
Event stall costs......plus much more.
And just to beak the myth too, these machines cant be magically created, they also need to be bought and paid for in the first place.
Do you know what crap and costs i went through to import a TRS model 3 from Holland because you cant find them in the UK.
Be a bit fair guys ok, just the pure sweat and man hours involved in getting the stock there and all set up so you can all have a full choice of what ever tickles your fancy...or just so you can walk past the tables calling out "too much" at the top of yours voices.
After all, F'k me we are only trying to feed our families not buy Rolls Royces.
:(
I have no issue in paying fair prices Bas buddy, even matching prices i would be paying over at ebay, and i understand that they have their costs but some (not all) of them really did try and take the mickey.
There were some decently priced stuff and there were some that were out to make as much as they could.
There was one seller by the entrance who i went back to a few times cause he kept restocking his table. His attitude was, he makes a few quid, we get games/hardware at a decent price but customers keep coming back. I bought a couple of items from him and he haggled with me on every price.
Hit and miss with prices, they are always a bit more at events, as they have expenses to cover, but you can still pick the odd thing up... I bought a boxed gba gsame, and then some c64 tapes from the amibay stand.. just as it helps the site, probably never play them.
I was tempted to buy an Atari Jaguar, but it had sold when I went and looked again on the saturday.
I know TC (along with BluesBrothers) have been extremely busy and set aside x number of weeks to prepare for this where as he's sidelined a few of my projects and apologised for not answering emails immediately, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have been earning in that time, so to hear such things must be galling. No one want to work for nothing.
In saying that, carry on though as I wasn't able to make it over and fingers crossed I might be able to pick up a few things that didn't sell lol :thumbsup2:
Is 116cm enough to fit a CBM Pet and a TRS-80???

I appreciate TC's point and as i said above not all were bad, there were a few decently priced items too.
I'm not upset by the comments because honestly when I was on that side of the fence I was if the exact same mind and voice.
I think its when you cross over and get hit with all these unexpected or planned costs and hurdkes tgat you get to see the full picture.
There are always chancers out there who indeed infuriate us both likewise, they give everyone a bad name and do sadly take advantage and rip people off.
But guys this is me....and BluesBrothers who is as close to me as a real brother....and we really do serve the community and look after our members on here.
Still love ya mikey lol
;)
Hey TC, we all know what effort goes into your machines :)
It's a lot different to putting a box protector on a Snes Game and asking £75 for it ;)
Enough price discussions, here's some stuff I picked up in the last few weeks...
First up, a very good condition TI99/4A that I got for a very reasonable price, especially as it included all cables, PSU, Modulator, handbooks and ten cartridges! :) Then, as I also like to collect watches, this beauty got added to my collection to cover both Retro and Watch collections. It works fine, but unfortunately the plexi-glass was so badly scratched, that I needed to polish it and sacrifice the C= symbol :( The metal was fine and it now looks almost new :) It still has the Commodore info and logo on the underside and the complete box (even the outer cardboard) was also included.
I also picked up a Frontlight for my GBC (they are back in stock at Kitsch Bent at the moment). Installed it with LOCA and it's looking good. It'll be interesting to see what effect it has on the battery life though.
Bryce.

Woah! Don't use that for parts, that's a classic piece of hardware. What a cool radio.

Not *quite* getting something new in the immediate sense, as I actually got this some time ago but immediately put it into storage for later use...
I retrieved something that I bought for another project, but ultimately never used, from a box today. It was a Jedi outfit and matching Lightsabre from Build-A-Bear Workshop, which I'd never even removed the tags from. Now Max the lemming is doing his bit as a Jedi Knight (or should that be a Lemi Knight? Or maybe just Old Lem Kenobi?). :p

Just got back from a friend who picked up 80 MD games for well, peanuts. He sold me Mutant League Hockey cheap so that's my latest.
Can I just add, I didnt mean to come across as being harsh or inconsiderate about revival pricing. Bas, I had no issues with machines like you qnd BBs were selling. You guys work damn hard and your products reflect that, your stand was simply amazing, I just wish I had gone back for a closer inspection. It's just when you come across a dusty bad condition game and they want more than eBays BIN prices, it just annoyed me a bit. They haven't spent ages reconditioning it. I try to keep an eye out for friends and pass stuff on at cost or to cover petrol, I wouldn't have minded reasonable prices, I know they have travel and pitch expenses but even so I though some were still excessive. I didn't mean to cause offense, I know ppl have to make a living. Anyway.. Soz for thread jacking
thats a nice TI99/4A bryce :)
Thanks. It's my first TI, so I'm looking forward to learning a bit about its hardware. Then I'll look into developing a few things for it like a cheap multicart and a floppy controller interface :) Unfortunately, right now I haven't even enough time to try it out :(
@ChrisUnionNJ: What parts do you need for it, mechanical or electronic?
Bryce.
bought few thing.
atari 130xe and side2 cart
dragon 64 and cocosd (in dragon mode beta..)
486 dx4-100 with sb16 for dull dos retroness. (is that a real word)
P1-233MMX with GeForce 2 and 2*voodooII 12mb in sli, sb awe32 with NEC XR385 wavetable card.
Awesome Lemming !! .. are you taking orders? :)
Me? :) Not right now, *but* I do have a list of folks who've expressed interest in my work, who are currently being contacted in order. After that's clear, I'll offer commission slots via my Etsy shop, but I can add you to the list if you're interested.
Also, thanks very much! :D
Yes, please add me to the list
Done.
New toy :)

A tiny little drawstring bag, as I'm making up a usable miniature dice bag, which will contain miniature dice, a miniature notebook, and that miniature pencil, there. (For scale, the pencil is 9cm long.)

And a knitted shirt for the lemming.
Nice! I'd still like to find a nice old IBM XT locally. :)
Heather
I've been looking for one of these for quite some time, glad i found an affordable and working specimen nearby.
It was owned by an employee of the dutch IBM branch and never changed owner, and although used, it has been well taken care of, and seems to be in full working order :)
Quite stuffed with expansion cards too :D
The only downside i've discovered so far is the damage to the top left corner of the monitor (bent plastic)
Picked up an Electroluminescent (EL) Backlight from Kitsch-Bent for my original Game Boy.
Before Pictures (First without flash, second with flash)

The graphics are more of a blue color than the original black, but the pictures make it look much more blue in color than it actually is at a good contrast level. The background is also more of the original green color at normal contrast levels.
Heather
Wow, that looks really smart - a lot nicer than the front-light add-ons that were available during the Game Boy's time on the market. Being electroluminescent, I assume the impact on the battery life isn't very high?
What we all wouldn't have done to get a solution like that back in the day, eh?
Hi heather, I'd luv to add one to my GB, were did you get it from?
The link's in Heather's post - click on the product name. ;) We can blame the forum software's lack of underlining for links, here.
Lol, sorry I missed it. :)
@NinjaRabbit
You are correct, the battery life is not severely impacted with this add-on. The only thing people need to keep in mind is that electroluminescent inverters make a high pitch noise that can be irritating to some people. I personally don't think it's too bad for this device, but I think it is more of a person by person thing.
Here's a video on why the inverters make noise. I don't think the one in this mod is any worse than the first inverter they show in the video.

got a few bits and bobs just latley.
mainly the Haf 922 case.
also the 240mm radiator.
and some led lights to make it look that extra bit gay. (i actually like to see in my case at night incase i have sprung a leak lol)
Basically what i did was. shoe horn 2x 120 rads and 1 240 rad a 2 drive res bay. pump and all the pipes in to the haf 922 case (some one really needed to tell me that the haf 922 case is a stupid design and needs to be like 10mm taller so the 240 rad would fit perfectly.)
any way managed to make it all work and pretty happy with it.
il probably take a picture after a while.
the next thing i need is one of those 2 port usb 3.0 things that plug in to my usb 3.0 header and strap on to an expansion slot.
here is a pick of temps and fan speeds now. "prime 95 running for over an hour" with an overclock of 4ghz
http://nonelectronics.com/lighting/v5
They also have back light options in a lot of colors, it LED so no buzzing
Today, I got an ultra teeny tiny notebook.
http://i.imgur.com/ojSeE40.jpg
No, not the computer kind! ;) It does have around 100 pages, though, so quite substantial for one of these.
i used to have y fronts that looked like that in the early early 80's
LOL! It's really not that bad. The reason I went with the EL instead of LED is to avoid the hotspots that LEDs create on the screen, like those in the bottom of this picture from that link:
http://nonelectronics.com/image/cach...cs-500x500.jpg
Any backlighting is still better than none. :)
I have very sensitive hearing and could hear every one of the EL inverters so I think for me I'd rather have a little hotspoting than a giant headache. :)
LOL! I totally understand. It's nice to have options. The site where I picked up the EL backlight also has a bunch of different LED mods available too.
Heather
The dark contrast on the led is much nicer than the el ? Or is it the way the photo was taken ?
the EL looks almost too bright, washing out the image on the screen somewhat...
It's probably just the way I took the pictures. :)
