The last of the three keyboards I made arrangements to purchase from a guy in my area, after my Matrix-6 and JX-10. (I might go back for his EPS-16+, though, but not for a while yet.) Took me way longer than I intended to come back for this one, but I'm exceedingly glad I did. The guy takes incredibly good care of his gear, and this thing is in damn near mint condition - even the aftertouch works perfectly. It's just as glorious as I remembered it being when I tested it way back last April, and entirely worth the wait - along with the DX7, this is the other of my two favorite digital synthesizers. And what's more, he threw in not only all the manuals, but a memory card and a PG-1000, for an amazing price.
I am in heaven.
(Staccato heaven, at that ;D)
Been after one for a while... its MOS Tech 6504 has beat me three nill!!!

Damn, that pic of the Macs is too dark. Doesn't do justice! :)
Got an RPG sourcebook (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness, by Palladium Books), which I recently discovered via reading a "Let's Play" of it that I found to be pretty entertaining. It has a pretty fun dice-driven random character generation system.

@commodorejohn Not good!!
I am currently trying to get hold of a Moog Prodigy from a friend at work.
He has had it under his desk for 4 years+ with the intention of restoring it but has never touched it! :p
I keep offering to take it from him but have yet to succeed! :D
Today I received a Master System joypad, to help make playing my C64 a lot more bearable (I never did like joysticks, honestly). :thumbsup: This will be used in conjunction with an adapter that I'll be buying from Beavis, here, which will allow the redundant button to trigger the up direction (as well as up itself also doing so), to make platformers work better.
http://i.imgur.com/cX9go6V.jpg
Very nice! I did the same with an original NES joystick. Mapping the other button to the Up direction makes many games much more playable. :thumbsup:

With a gamepad, up to jump is pretty annoying. with a joystick, it feels natural. I like gamepad for those games made for gamepads, and joysticks for those made for that. playing mario with a joystick or lotus with a gamepad feels unnatural. but that is more a force of habit than anything else.
I must admit, I personally always found up to jump horrible and unnatural on joysticks, personally, long before I ever even encountered a joypad. :lol:
That's one of the things I like most about playing games on my JXD Android Tablet, mapping a button to up is easy :)
Courtesy of TheCorfiot (Thankyou, sir!) today I received this beautiful BBC Model B with floppy drive and also bought a Turbo MMC for it too!

Omg! That brings back memories! We had a room of networked BBC's with a server in High School till about 1990. My nerd mates and I had hacked the system and had full control over everything, made for great pranks and easy homework cheating! :D
Our computer teacher realized keeping us out was impossible so eventually made us official sys admins when we promised not to be disruptive to the "normal" students!
Good times!
Unfortunately they all got replaced with non-networked, monochrome, dumb pc's in our year 11. :(
Eh? I got banned when I did the same thing to our school computers.. no sense of humour :mad:
The IT teacher was more used to using Archimedes and the security they attempted to implement on the first PC systems back in the day was laughable.
Our Computing teacher was a pretty good sport - initially he tried to stop us but what he didn't know was that we had figured out how to break into the computer room from the outside sliding door with our steel rulers. Then we just picked the lock (another hobby of ours) to the master disk cabinet and booted the server up with the master disk and gave ourselves admin rights again.
:D
Finally picked up a set of Rory's Story Cubes. Looking forward to using these as a writing tool, and for standing in for a GM in solo RPG'ing (as per this). :thumbsup:

Here's something you don't see every day.
A brand new, unopened 1984 Canon PJ-1080A paint jet printer:
Attachment 75797
Yesterday was the first time anyone has attempted to operate this printer since it was produced 30 years ago.
Result: Not working.
Still, it was fun to unbox. Its juice-box sized ink tanks and huge continuous unperforated roll of inkjet paper mated with good Amiga drivers and software like ADPro made this printer awesome in its time for poster printing.
some Adventure Gamebooks/RPG stuff today...
Dungeoneer and Blacksand! Advanced Fighting Fantasy books
some slightly different versions of the normal gamebooks, Island of the Lizard King, Freeway Fighter, Temple of Terror and Trial of Champions (Dell US editions vs the normal Puffin editions Canada got, that were pretty much the same as the UK editions)
Cracken's Rebel Field Guide for the West End Games version of the Star Wars Roleplaying Game
Funnily enough, I picked up the current edition of Trial of Champions on Amazon UK, recently, as the reviews and description sounded good, and I don't really care about starting off with a sequel without having played the prior book first. I'm hoping that it'll arrive with me within the next couple of days. :thumbsup:
I was in a bookshop today, and came across these, i couldn't recall seeing the US Dell editions before.
i did also notice that on Amazon some of the older copies are beginning to go up in price, and i am not seeing them as often in the thrift shops any more either.
I used to have the TMNT game you got the other day, way back in '86 or '87, and either sold it or traded it off a long time ago....though, strangely...i still have the Road Hogs supplement sitting on my book shelf...
I can't tell what edition the older copies on Amazon UK, at least, even are - nobody seems to be especially clear on that. :lol:
Awesome! I rolled up a neat urban ninja mouse (probably as close to a lemming as the system allows, haha :lol: ) who was mutated accidentally as a result of the work of a secret espionage organisation, on my first attempt at messing with the character generation system, but I haven't actually done anything else with the whole thing, yet. I don't think I'll be tracking down the expansions, though - I've got plenty to be going on with with the core book, combined with combining it with other systems and scenarios. :thumbsup:Quote:

Speaking of systems in the loosest possible fashion, my SD2IEC (in C64C colouring, naturally) arrived!
http://i.imgur.com/SLx9feY.jpg
I found the floppy disk label on the SD Card to be adorable. :lol:
I've just finished putting my stuff on the card, and haven't even plugged it in yet. Off to do so now! :thumbsup:
Ee! Finally! :thumbsup:

Today, I received a copy of Lionheart, the second title in the four-game lineage worked on by Henk Nieborg and Erwin Kloibhofer (which I've previously written about here). So happy! :D
Now I only need to find Ghost Battle, and I'll have completed the set! :D

Currently in California - I managed to get my hands on a Genesis 3! Which I also got to test and try from the shop in San Jose. Very happy, it will be my Everdrive machine for the lounge - it is soo small :)
@BrooksterMax
When you get back my friend, bring it over and we shall hack it ;)
Did someone say Curry night Friday? :blased:
Yay, Amazon Logistics dropped by this evening with another parcel for me. :D It's more writing and RPG'ing stuff.

All three of the Rory's Story Cubes expansions - Enchanted, Clues, and Prehistoria, which cover the themes of fairytales/folk-tales, spies/police, and cavemen/dinosaurs, respectively. I love these things. Brilliant for both writing and traditional RPGs (you can use them to stand in for a GM, for solo play).

Pirate Adventure Dice. These are from a Rory's Story Cubes workalike line (the others in the series are the already-released Magic & Fairy-tale Dice, and the upcoming Space Travel Dice), and whilst they're very nice (and, to my surprise, bigger in size than their rival), they try to differentiate themselves from the "real thing" in a way that makes them a teeny bit less useful outside of being used as a game; That red-printed die is the "Super Powers Die", and three out of the other eight dice lose out on having a themed image on one face in favour of having a symbol which indicates that you can roll the red one, which is for imbuing a character with one of several abilities specific to the set's theme. I'm sure I can find a use for it, though. ;)

StoryWorld Cards - Quests and Adventures. These things are unexpectedly huge - the cards are almost as big as a paperback book! Another useful writing and RPG'ing tool.
http://i.imgur.com/OvD7kpY.jpg
And, last but not least, the current UK edition of the Fighting Fantasy gamebook, Trial of Champions. My lucky d6 is on standby already. :thumbsup:
@Fitzy
You are always welcome for curry buddy and a crash over!
@NinjaRabbit
Ahhh RPG... sweet sweet music to my ears, eyes!
Interestingly if your lucky D6 fails you, you can flip the pages of the book and at the bottom is two D6 numbers =)
Recently I got Relic - aka Space Talisman! a truly delightful game - in fact it was only the other day I was playing Talisman with Yorkie and our friend PJ - Yorkie managed to beat me.... the ruthless evil monk that he was!
I hadn't yet opened the book at all, until you mentioned this. That's pretty neat. :D
Just had to look up Relic (and, indeed, Talisman) - sounds like a lark. It must be nice to have a group of folks to do RPG'ing and boardgaming and such with!Quote:

I don't really know anyone else who's into this sort of thing, so my dice and whatnots are typically used as writing tools, though the various story dice and cards (combined with some of my more oddball dice), as noted above, can now stand in for a GM, which is nice, and which solves that issue for me to a degree. :thumbsup:
Two more nice joysticks to my collection

been wanting to get a copy of this for quite some time...
At last! Two unicorns found in ten days... Im on a roll :D

Awesome, ive been searching for a quaddoubler for ages, they never turn up
I know they're not the best, add-on compatibility an' all, but I'd love a Gen3. I'm sure you could pick one up for peanuts over there.
I went booting this morning, well, I went to 3 car boots. At the first I picked up No More Heroes 2 for the Wii. At the second I picked up a bunch of Mario/Yoshi plushes and the Mario All Stars 25th Anniversary for the Wii, then at the third I picked up the Bonus Mario History that came with All Stars and also a classic controller, which I don't have, so randomly I set up for some Mario Wii goodness!
Got some nice light reading in the post today...

My Oculus Rift DK2 arrived today!!! :o
EVGA GTX660 FTW 3GB arriving this week too... :blink:
Hopefully now ready to Rock and Roll!!!!!
Just arrived is a particular die that I've been after for ages (I picked up the d14 equivalent as a stopgap some time ago, but the artwork on that one isn't as good as on this one, though it remains useful as it has specific text as well) - an emote d6. :D

Just received this package stuffed with everdrive goodness and more! Thanks r0jaws :thumbsup:

It's such a cute little machine and the disk drive and serial are lightning fast, transferring a whole disk image takes only 45 seconds!
Not new, but I have my pcw 9512+ up and running again. Thinking of an HxC for it, as the on board drive has suffered the rigours of time.
Had a few things arrive with me today;
http://i.imgur.com/rFSX7Xv.jpg
Firstly, some 3D-printing - a miniature version of the Talisman from Lemmings 2 for use as a pendant (this one was made using Shapeways' 2D-to-3D tool, which is much more useful now that it allows for grey to signify less-thick solid areas), a wireframe d26 letter die with the least-commonly used letters in the English language on the smaller faces, and a Scooby-Doo dog-tag replica.
http://i.imgur.com/XHAENnp.jpg
Here's a closer shot of the mini Talisman. It's a bit under an inch in diameter, and considering that, I think that the details came out very well.
http://i.imgur.com/OlgpQlo.jpg
I also got a smart Commodore case badge to replace the decal on my laptop, which had gotten a bit scruffy-looking.
http://i.imgur.com/rfhNehr.jpg
And here it is on my laptop.
http://i.imgur.com/X2vFsS8.jpg
And, last but not least, I finally got hold of one of those plush Boing Balls. :D It's shown here with my mascot, Max the lemming. It's a lot bigger than I expected, for some reason.
