100 pack CD/DVD envelopes
stack of Score 90/91 hockey cards
normally I do not take these (post-89/90) hockey cards as this is when they became massively overproduced, and as such - worth very little, but the very first card showing in the plastic baggie with these cards was an Eric Lindros 'Future Superstar' (rookie) card (just inducted into the hockey HoF) and is one of the very few cards that will be worth anything from the early 90s sets...interestingly Martin Brodeur (r) was the second card I found upon opening it up...so....not a bad 'score' as it were - if memory serves Sergei Fedorov, Pavel Bure and Jaromir Jagr are the other cards of the 90-91 sets worth having. (in fact, these were so overproduced that even until recently I have found unopened card packs (and boxed sets) in places like the dollar stores and even Toys'RUs, 25 years after the fact, ProSet also)
@SaviorX Where do you put all this stuff!?!? :)
Heather
for the stuff that I just collect, but really don't use or look at on a daily basis, I am fortunate enough to have a fair sized in-suite store room, nearly the size of a small bedroom (somewhere in the 50-55 sq ft area)
as for the rest, this small apartment gets a little on the cluttered side at times, I do have 8 bookcases/shelf units for most of my stuff though... (and of course my closets are pretty well packed full)
I'll include these so you can see my dilemma
Wow! Quite the collection. I actually have the same wide DVD stand in the last picture except mine is wood colored. :)
Heather
I ordered mine online from Walmart, it seemed ridiculously cheap for what it was, and shipping was even free...
I have to say that I wasn't at all disappointed, the quality was reasonable for the price...
in fact, Walmart.ca appears to still have them...
http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/multimed.../6000002585794
(they appear to have been on sale real cheap on the US site, and sold out: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sauder-O-...herry/13044874)
if I had the space I would definitely get another one, as it stands, I would have to replace the one I have with something that's just taller :P

small 'upgrade' to my camera, nothing too fancy, just a Canon ELPH 190 IS 20MP (a little bit better than my older Canon A3400 IS 16MP, especially in low light, it looks like...also liked the 10x optical zoom, vs 5x on the one I have now)
Attachment 115099old cam vs...Attachment 115100
seems quite a bit sharper to me anyways.
Also seems to snap the photo in 1/4 the time the old one did, and is WiFi as well.
I've actually been fairly happy with these 'lower end' Canon digital cameras.
best part was the price, technically 'free' (I had $170 worth of 'Shoppers' points :p)
Lucky my found a complete boxed amiga 500 plus pack in a local advert :D
And works perfect!, this is going to be a great Christmas.

@SaviorX: What do you do with all this gear!!? You must have a massive house and a very understanding partner!
Bryce.
@Bryce
I had just asked the same question. See his reply on the previous page. :)
Heather
Wow, that's bordering on the "I need counselling" situation. :D
Bryce.
It's getting close :P
I find it fun though, just to see what I can find each time...none of it is all that exciting I know...I do love finding games and books (especially the gamebooks and CYOA) from my childhood (70s-early 80s)
the computer/video game stuff is getting very thin though.
Settlers of Catan is one of my favorite board/card games. I'd love to find some CYOA books but I already have a space issue. :)
Heather
the one set I never seem to find, but would really like to get are the "You Are An Interplanetary Spy" ones, I have yet to see any in the thrift stores or even the 2nd hand bookshops.
If I remember correctly they were similar to the CYOA, but also had puzzles you had to solve.
I bought myself a PS4 Slim with the 500 GB drive plus Until Dawn for it. I contemplated getting the Pro but came to a conclusion that the older model will suffice for me.
I absolutely loved Until Dawn. It was like playing an old fashioned horror movie. I'll play it again some time next year and try some other choices.
Enjoy your system!
Heather
Visiting an old uni friend and he just gave me an Amiga 4000 ec030 and an Amiga 500 plus. Both have their original batteries (removing asap). But both boards look like new :D

Bought a PS4 Pro, had a spare 1tb SSD kicking round the house, so the PS4 has that now. Also got Fallout 4, Infamous (Came with the console, and much to my surprise, both are really good games) and of course Final Fantasy XV.
Loving it so far.
And to answer any questions, PS4 Pro looks ace on a 4k tv with HDR. Also makes games run smoother and sharped on my old 1080p tv, so worth it for me.
Worth for most people? Probably not, but I had some spare xmas cash and sold my regular PS4 to fund it. If you already have a ps4 but no 4k tv, don't bother to be honest, not enough of an upgrade. :)

a few more X-wing ships came out this week, and I am already behind a bit as it is (haven't gotten Mist Hunter, Ghost, Inquisitor TIE , ARC-170 or Protectorate Starfighter from the previous releases) and several expansions from Imperial Assault are due out soon (Jabba's Palace, Jabba the Hutt, Luke Skywalker: Jedi), as well as a re-release of Blood Bowl (I have 2 copies of the late-80s Stone Pitch version, could really use some teams/players, but I am really not into painting)

Ever since my Mac case was destroyed in an attempt to retrobrite it I've been looking for a case to replace the damaged one. I picked this machine up just for for the case. It was unimaginably dirty and appeared to have been in water at some point so I thought it dead. I tore it apart, cleaned it up and after everything it now works fine. Even better it turns out to be a week 45 1984 original Macintosh. My other machine after checking the serial was actually a Mac 512 so this is a better item for my collection.

the latest expansions for Imperial Assault seem to have come out yesterday - Jabba's Realm (includes a large Rancor fig), Jabba, Jedi Luke, Captain Terro on Dewback and 1 or 2 others, probably order those nearer the end of Jan.
I just finished tearing down and cleaning/repairing a Compaq SLT/286 I picked recently. It was quite a dirty mess and one of the back-light tubes in the screen had shattered during shipping which caused a lot of tiny glass bits to have to be cleaned out. It's a nice machine and oddly the battery still holds a charge that lasts a little while. It came with the documentation, PSU and carrying case. Now to write the system image to disk so I can configure the HDD.

ZX Spectrum 48k, which has just had a composite mod and the voltage regulator replaced, now runs nice and cool with a reasonable picture, smashing!
Replaced the 7805 with a Traco Power TSR 1-2450. This is a switch mode direct replacement, 90% efficient compared to the 7805 linear regulator which on a good day is probably only around 45% efficient, with the excess being converted to heat :o, the large metal heat-sink is now redundant. Gutted the RF modulator, added a 100uf 10v cap. Noticed a leaking cap, so replaced that while the soldering iron was out.. job done :D

Hi wmsteele,
the capacitor is connected the wrong way around! The negative of the capacitor should be going to the socket, not the positive!
While you're at it, the capacitor should also be a slightly higher value, you'll get the best results at around 220µf. You should also put a 75ohm resistor in series with the capacitor (between capacitor and socket) to terminate the connection properly.
Bryce.
@Bryce, thanks for the heads-up, will sort this out tonight
After being told by a fellow collector that he was at an estate sale and picked up three Macintosh machines complete, I decided to go myself.

It's all untested so far and there's even more TI/99 stuff. The line scanner and the new in box 8" floppy drive are the most interesting.
Lots of work ahead to sort all this . :)
Went to Computer Surplus in Redmond and found this thing for the best price in the world, just needs the DB-9 female right angle connector in back repaired, something I"m working on myself ATM. It's a NEC MultiSync II 14" CRT, and it came complete with what I assume is the original cable, and the 9-pin to 15-pin multisync converter. Tried it on the 486, does have some color/sync problems because if I wiggle the connector and hold it in just the right spot it works, but if I let go it either loses image or turns green. I've traced it to the connector. I also see a little brown around it, but I'll fix that.
