Man! That's sweet as! I remember the CDTV coming out. While everyone else was at the Segas, Nintendos, Phillips and Atari Lynx, I was at the other end of the shop drooling over the CDTV. I got myself another clean z4 tower from other bay which was started but not finished.
With a dead mobo but got a partial refund to get another 1 which is on way.
I did get the tower a dvd rom floppy and working 3.1 roms which were in wrong sockets but are fine.
The mobo has a scratch on a few tracks by the screw hole see pic
But the 020 cpu gets warm i have tried with my blizzard but get a white flashing screen.
Looks like the classic slipped screwdriver :Doh:
But as long as you're getting it replaces thats the main thing. You'd peobably be able to sell it as a faulty board to one of the tinkering types :cool:
Still looks like a great buy, I love the EZ Z4 Tower, its perfect for a Mediator setup :thumbsup:

After my finding out my VIC-20 was dead last weekend, I though nothing could cheer me up, then I got a call today to see if I wanted some Amiga stuff. I went help pick it all up and I still have 3 more boxes to go, but I though I would share a sneak peek at what today brought.
First we have an A4000 Desktop: the unit (supposedly) has a cybervision 64 card and a (an) Warp Engine '040. I have yet to open it and inspect it.

Next I just opened one of the boxes and we have a bunch of boxed games. Now I have over 1000 floppy disk of copied games, but very few (like 4) boxed games.
I still have a few more boxes to go with a few keyboards, Midi connections, I even have an "Opal Vision card"
I even was suppose to have a Ariadne II network card, I have the box etc for that, but it was "Borrowed" and I probably will never see it back.

Next weekend will prove interesting also, I got a call from a Widower, just wanting to get rid of boxes of Amiga magazines. She then saw my site and then also offered her late husband's Amiga too. Apparently, he was big into Video Editing and Animation. Some (free) advice Nathaniel - put an wanted ad on Kijji. Its free, and you never know what you will get. I have had my Amiga ad on there almost 3 years now, and yes it does get burried awful quickly, but every once and a while it does pay off.

Ok, last post before bed.
I opened the A4000 up, good news and bad news.
There is a Cybervision card, and a GVP I/O extender card and it looks like the Warp engine is there.
Bad news, the previous owner replaced the battery with a Radioshack phone battery and that has leaked. I snipped it off, but it looks like a bit of cleaning for the motherboard. lots of green pins to be seen.
The whole machine needs a good clean up from what I can see, but the photos aren't that good.Quote:

Got a WarpEngine 4028 with 128 meg a couple of days ago.
Box+manual, no software though.
All simm sockets except one was broken, got it working with some pieces of plastic. I will make a 40 mhz version of it soon.
I want to change the simm slots to some day, anyone know a good way of removing them? I have seen people using hot air solder station for that, but i don't have one. Maybe i should get one :)
I got a zoomfloppy from Retro Innovations so I can use my C64 stuff on vice..

i got this 1200 ver 1b waiting for me today to replace my dead 1 from the tower i got a few days ago. is there problems with this rev of the board. john

I have a 1b board from new ('90s) and it's been rock solid. The only thing that has failed on my A1200 is the floppy drive a couple of months ago.
I've only had other problems trying to get a solid connection with a Mediator TX and configuring mediator software and OS3.9.

a friend gave me a memoryexpansion, kickstart and "Gary-AD" thingy...battery on expansion leaks badly, has been cured.
Also, i am very happy to say i bought a very nice "2B" mainboard for my A1200...hopefully to cure the pcmcia woes :)

Its a PacRim external pc floppydrive without psu :)

Just got a LCD TV screen with various inputs ( 23 way to scart works spot on) for the miggs @ <snip> a few<snip> quid..off fleabay
Good and bad.
Described as excellent condition..
Ebay seller is a tosser tho' it had a DVD player installed , I found it had a CD jammed in it .and is totally dead.
They reckon it was perfect .
And the bottom edge of the screen is slightly warped due to some heat ? ( I reckon a hair dryer has been put down near it ) as I 've had it apart to get the disc out and there. only 2 speakers in the bent area .
Can't be arsed to send it back as its so cheap and its gonna cost half the <snip> amount </snip> to return it .:mad:
As the picture is very good.. will keep it just NEG feedback em!! twonks.. :whistle:

I have found that if you talk with the sellers and explain the problems you are having - i.e. the DVD Optical Drive and the warped plastic. I am sure they would come to some arrangement to avoid any negative feed-back - you maybe able to get a few quid back for your next buy/purchase =)
(I would advise you not to mention you had the unit apart)

Asus N10JH - Wanted this for ages but was always too expensive, well like all modern computer hardware price keeps coming down and I grabbed one.
Its an 10in Notepad with 1.66ghz Atom + 2gb Ram, 250gb HDD and switchable Graphics, onboard Intel rubbish for battery saving and NVidia G105M 512mb GPU for everything else :D
Just been playing COD4/Far Cry 2, run great. WinUAE is perfect too.
