Got a call from a guy this morning saying he had a few boxes of amiga magazines and a VIC 20. He dropped off 3 boxes.
It ended up he had 2 VIC's , but the real surprise was the ColecoVision, racing wheel and boxed Atari expansion. Just Smurf, ladybug, DK and Turbo though.
I always wanted a CV... but alas, I will play with it once to test, then off for sale.
@Quarkx
Very nice looking Colecovision! I don't have the steering wheel for mine yet.
Heather

Im slowly but surely gathering together bits and bobs to get my A1200 upto the spec I had on my old machine :)
I set it set it all up and forgot to take photos:Doh:
On Wednesday, I got a dual processor Power Mac G5 1.8 Mhz dirt cheap from the other bay, that I set up as a media/file server, and yesterday I got my Apple TV -Hockey Puck- you know what they look like.
No Hullu on the Canadian Apple TV, we are really limited to what the USA gets.
Scored a complete boxed Railroad Tycoon last saturday in very good condition for just one continental coin, and 4 tickets for Pearl Jam in Amsterdam next year (254 euros, ouch....)
Got myself the new Nokia Lumia Windows phone. Gotta say, I'm loving it.
Sent from my Lumia 800 using Board Express
Well I got my DKB3128 thanks to McVenco and the Retina Z3 thanks to Amiga-Digital and on the clubday there were 3 auctions, I had dibs on this:
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?al...pictureid=1229
The 3000UX went to Amiga-Digital and an A1200 with Blizzard 1230 to Rischa.

Loved to get one too. They don't sell it here yet and this is the bloody country, where the bloody headquarters is. Of course I could get one from Amazon but 500 € is quite an investment for an unemployed. Therefore I have to wait until they start selling it here so I can get an operator locked one or get some other make.
I'm currently studying Windows Phone 7 programming so I'd like to have a real hardware to test my software bits and pieces.
hi Gouldin im torn between your new phone and the galaxy s ii im a nokia man normally but the galaxy seems higher spec on paper dont know what to get
buzzfuzz nice looking miggys there
@Johnim. Galaxy S II is a very nice phone, but also check out the latest Sony Xperia phones. Very nice phones... very slim, 8MP camera with great image quality and 3D panarama support and loads of other features, plus Sony are supporting their Xperia range very well, releasing Android updates pretty quickly across the range with new features each time, and early in the new year they are looking to release an IceCream Sandwich update for the whole range, so very nice. Their phones also update OTA, whereas Samsung's don't and are a nightmare to update.
Back on topic...
I decided to upgrade my main PC's graphics card from its XFX Radeon HD 4870 1GB XXX.
Picked up a nice new XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB Double D XXX today. Quite a bargain at Novatech. And if you don't know the XXX on these cards means they have been factory overclocked out of the box, and the Double D is a dual fan design, rather than the single fan reference AMD design for these cards, and it actually makes the card quieter as each fan doesn't need to move as fast, but keeps it cooler. Nice design.
I did some testing with SWTOR running at 2560x1440, and it has upped the fps from 29-35 with the 4870 to 56-89 with the 6950. So a nice improvement. The 2GB ram at such high resolutions also helps. ;)
Sat on my desk, I have a choice between an iPhone 4, Sony Xperia Play a Galaxy S 1 and Nokia Lumia 800. (Lucky me, tough decisions :p )
The iPhone: Whilst great, I'm bored with it tbh, nothing wrong at all with it. Just bored.
Xperia Play: Love this little fella, the control pad is great, but most of all, Sony really has made an android that feels different from the crowd. Not dual core, but feels slick and no slowdown on it at all. Overall a keeper, especially when Sony starts rolling out all the playstation downloads early next year)
Samsung Galaxy S (And S 2 which my mate has): Great phone, really quick, feels like a cheaper build iPhone with a way better spec. Not in a bad way, but the layout does lend itself to easy transitions for users of iphones to androids. The S2 feels too big for my pockets tbh. Great build quality on the S2 however. Just freaking hugs in your pocket.
Nokia Lumia 800: The hardware specs aren't groundbreaking (Same as Xperia Arc S for comparison), but Win Phone 7 OS doesn't feel as demanding on the phone as other OS's do. No slowdown while multitasking, runs games great (App store is lacking a tiny bit though). MS Office built in is pretty handy after only 1 days use. Camera is great, build quility is just insane and competes if not beats the iPhone 4 in that dept. Looks unique, this is the only phone I've had for about 4-5 years that people have said, 'wow, that looks cool, what is it?'
Really, how so? In terms of the OS, there seems to be a lot of bashing it on the internet due to it being an MS OS. They don't have the best track record, but can honestly say, in terms of ease of use it blows Android away and competes with iOS very well.
Everything is nicely designed with a uniform look across all apps, doesn't crash, never feels like it's running low on memory.
The N8 & N9, everyone loved the look of them, just not the OS, so this phone gives the design a chance to shine :p
I just got the galaxy s II and loving it and theres too much to play with this tapatalk is 1 ov them

Was given these the other day, only got round to setting them up xmas eve, hooked up to a denon amp I managed to get my mits on... the sound quality is gorgeous, and the lows are oh so well defined! mmmm, gonna give me a lot of pleasure.
C64c sounds awsome through em, I need to get a C64 with 6581 SID as I prefer it`s slight grainyness.
Gonna hook miggy up in a bit...

I got the Spectrum + that I won from a local auction site. Just the plain machine without PSU but visually in great shape. :) Good thing I have a multi rate PSU to try it out. Couldn't get my monitor TV to show a good picture at channel 36. It flashes steadily but can't make out anything comprehensible. The keyboard works, methinks, as I can hear a sound with each key press. Have to try it out with the downstairs TV later.
I'm so happy! I won a CBM Pet off EvilBay and it finally arrived today! I took a chance with it because they turned it on but did absolutely no testing (not even the keyboard). Other than some yellowing, the system is in excellent condition. :D
It's a CBM Model 8032 that has 32K RAM and an 80-Column display. The keyboard works perfectly! I'll be testing the expansion ports once I assemble my PETDisk.
I've set it up in my office at work for now to see how many questions I get about it.
Heather
"What's with the Telex" is bound to be one of them lol. Great machine though Heather. Learned programming on one of those :)
John

Just got a Randy-ROM A1200 Buffered Amiga IDE for £<snip> from feeBay. When I got it I decided to take off the coverings to see if there was any damage which there was, a bit of wire jumping is in order I think.
Anyway what I thought was interesting was the the little question on the card. I circled the question in red.

Where to begin, its been a crazy day!
This morning I drove 100Km to the place of an (ex) Amiga collector.
This was my 2nd visit to him, last time was a few months ago (I posted about it in this thread) where I got out of there with a full car.
Back then, he wanted to keep some of the stuff still (the best stuff...) but now I tempted him with some vintage pro video equipment he was after (which I had spare).
Here's an almost complete list of what I got (my dream machine!):
- A4000 in Micronik 4000 ISA Tower (a huge monster of a thing)
- Phase5 CyberStorm 68060 mk1 + SCSI module
- Phase5 CyberVision64 - boxed
- A2320 flicker fixer - boxed
- Toccata
- Vlab
- Vlab Motion
- Peggy Plus with video encoder daughter board
- Tandem IDE controller
- GVP I/O extender - boxed
- Video Toaster 2000
- Video Toaster 4000 - boxed
- A3640 rev 3.0
- A3630
- Bag full of SIMMs of different kinds
- PCMCIA SRAM (2MB and 4MB)
- Misc Amiga books
Will take pictures when everything is properly unloaded (and I find my missing camera).
I noticed the CyberStorm is missing all plastic spacers (between CPU/carrier and carrier/motherboard).
Any idea where to source these?
nice machine UberFreak waiting for pics:popcorn:
i think justin makes these if he has timeQuote:

I just hope I get it all working properly!
Right now its all in pieces :D
I bought a Televisor kit that I have beein meaning to buy for a number of years. I think its cool.
It uses 30 lines to make up the picture, you may get the idea from the photo's. The LED is behind the spinning nipkow disk, with a screen in between the two and there is a small magnifing lens infront. The video is infact taken from one channel of the audio CD that came with it, so as the video plays, we can hear the audio from the other channel. It's so cool seeing moving images from what is one LED and a spinning disk. Just watched Mickey Mouse!
Since I received a PET computer (Yay!), I assembled my PETdisk today! Great little device. Can't wait to try it out on Monday (My PET is at work). :D

Now, time to go ride my motorcycle. It's beautiful outside today!

Finally got my mega drive setup properly along with some new arrivals
Bunch of boxed games, 4 6 buttoned sega pads and a nice RGB Scart which my LG TV loves. Really nice scaling from the tv, sonic looks really lovely on it :D
One of the pics is a size comparison between a regular MD2 pad and these little controllers, gotta say, I much prefer them over the 3 button pads.
Nice one Gouldin
I got a new Tower to play with :D
