Heheh, scored a couple of MDD Power Mac G4s (dual 1.25GHz) at the recycle center, a.k.a. the fastest OS9 machines ;D Haven't gotten a chance to test them yet, but they look to be in good shape. Now I just need to load 'er up with RAM, and I can send my current OS9 machine off to a good home...
(And, added bonus, this should be a perfect machine to give MorphOS a spin on...)
Collected a C64c from the sorting office, this morning. Works beautifully and I immediately started writing a Snake clone :)

Both dead :(
C64 is ASSY250425 Powers on to a black screen.
A500 is Rev5, very clean, powers on to green screen and strobing power LED, 10 flash then 1 long flash, then repeat.
Has a C= key instead of left Amiga.
A friend of mine bought Skyrim for the PS3 and hated it after only playing it for a couple of hours... He sold it to me for <snip> just a snippet of the usual price <snip> :)
I think it's a great game, but some of the bugs can be annoying! The graphics are not as sharp or detailed as the X360 or PC versions and the framerate can sometimes chug a bit, but i'm still completely hooked! I kinda wish i had got it for the PC but i couldn't resist the <snip> just a snippet of the usual price <snip> for the PS3 version :D
I've liked the Elder Scrolls series for years now, but i still prefer Fallout :)
[edit]
Sorry to edit your post, but the price could be seen as price driving - also it was ridiculously cheap, and we cannot have that either! ;) .Z
@Wolfy
I am sure I can help you sort out that A500.
the green is a memory assertion failure, its quite likey that a dead A501 expansion's battery has spillied its guts...
Start a thread up in the help section - you should start by open up the A500, remove the RF shielding and take lots of (good quality) pics from the top and bottom of the motherboard.
from there we can help more =)
Now the C64 sounds like a AC power issue, I will have a read more - but again if you open up a help thread I am sure some one will certainly know a lot more than I on how to get it back from the dead.
Got my C128D-CR!
Wasn't expecting the German keyboard layout, but that's only an aesthetic thing.
The PSU stanchion has snapped though, due likely to a bit of rough handling by the postal service :(
The loose stanchion (and now loose PSU) has damaged one capacitor (smashed it!) but the 128 still works perfectly!
Nice C= wolfy :) not seen to often or should I say they are less common than the A key
Finally got round to buying a new nozzle for my hot air station, its an Aoyue 1325 - DSA Dual Single Adjustable - 5 > 10mm which should be great for removing the surface mount caps from 1200's and 600's (I hope).
This is the nozzle which is a buy it now item, if its not suitable for this thread then by all means feel free to remove it.

It is alive :) . 40MHz small beast
I just picked this little lot up tonight for £xxxxxxx
http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy310/Dazx/miggy.jpg
I was very happy with the purchase, and even more so when I got home and opened up the expansion slot and found an Magnum 030 40mhz board which lacked any ram so didnt show up when viewing the machine :D
It is also lacking an FPU at the moment, the seller also threw in a portable TV :D
nice Dazxy2001 and nice little surprise in ex slot
Thanks, and yes it was, plus its an upgrade as I currently only have an 030 @ 28mhz :)
And to TheCorfiot my apologies, I posted without even thinking about price driving.
Yesterday I was able to pick up an Amiga 500 with 1 meg expansion, external California Access floppy, 1084S monitor, and 1200 baud modem. (not sure what I'll do with the modem hehe). All in excellent shape!
Best thing was it was free! Yay craigslist!! http://www.craigslist.org
Here are a few of my newer additions:
have had my eye open for a good deal to replace my Atari 1040STFM that got left behind during my move from Victoria to Calgary.

an Atari 800XL which was recently given to me along with a bunch of other stuff.

Finally got the parts delivered today to finish off my Fnder Squier PartsCaster :D one of my other hobbies.
Got myself a cheap (and immaculate condition) netbook off ebay for a decent price :)
It's an Elonex Webbook (nothing fancy :p) and it comes with Ubuntu 11.10 installed (yuck!). I'll be removing Ubuntu and putting good old user friendly WinXp on it :D
Specs:
VIA C7-M 1.6Ghz CPU
1GB DDR2 RAM
80GB HDD
VIA Unichrome Pro II graphics (oh dear!)
10.2" screen
The specs are nothing special but it's more than capable for web browsing, watching videos and a bit of portable emulation
I found this poor little creature abandoned on my doorstep yesterday morning.
http://www.proggle.net/%7Eandrew/download/forlorn.jpg
She looks so sad and forlorn :( Still, I'm sure we'll be able to nurse her back to health!
On your doorstep?
Was it an anonymous donation or something you purchased?
If you think thats in bad nick Andy check out this one I got a couple of years ago :wooha:
It was expected. It belonged to a friend of a friend, but I wasn't around when it was dropped off (probably still fast asleep) so I found it on the doorstep when I got up. The deal is that I'll check it out and give her an amount of money that I consider reasonable for it.
Still, it's kinda cool to wake up and find an A1200 on your doorstep, eh?
Oh, and Taj, that's one filthy RF shield! I've not lifted the lid on this thing yet, I dread to find what I might find in there!
Its rusted to you know what and back  I keep putting off removing it but remarkably, the A1200 works! :D
hi guys i got my 898BD rework station today and all i can say is wow
http://s5.postimage.org/3zp09brwj/DSCF0143.jpg
Got this a while back "week or so" for
"£yay a reasonable price take that every one els who wants £lolSrsly"
I been playing with it and bought some extra springs to make the break peddal more realistic. it took 2x RC car front springs + some packing foam stuff "not polistyring, its like an airrated polytheen"
And now i can use it with ABS turned off as i can feel it getting harder to press.
I also noticed that the throttle peddal traveld futher than the response of the game so i also fixed that. sideeffect is that peddals have to be taped down with double sided tape. and because i keep having to move them when im done im rnning out of tape and alcohol as i use that to clean up the residue after.
really happy with it. now i can play all my racing games with forcefeedback "which owns"
took about 2 days to get used to it, had to change some ingame dead zone settings so i dont have to turn the wheel as far (40% out, not 100%) Still cant always manage the high powerd rear wheel drive cars though. so i may add a spring to the throttle for a bit more resistance as i have a slightly heavy foot.
these things are fun :)
Got my Skt 496 Mobile Pentium III chip for my Thinkpad A20m. The chip is a P3-800, but because the Lappy's motherboard doesn't support speedstep, it's locked at 650MHz, which is still plenty fast enough to play Win98 era games with. (the Rage Mobility chip even plays some OpenGL and D3D games at lower res.)
Got the chip installed and it's working OK.
By the way - new here, just came over from Vogons! :D
lol all i ever had on with a controller was ABS.
now that i have my peddals thats gone too..
but i been playing on live lol. i just dont have forza 4. i have "1-2-3"
I only have about 4 days of my free 1month gold subscription though and if i do come to play you m,ay see me crash in to a wall and then not move for the next 10 mins "baby needs food excetera" lol.
but if you wanna play i'm happy to do so. :)
My A500+ which I bought about a month or so ago, I decided to tackle the leaking battery and clean the motherboard today, followed by a complete clean of the machine while it was apart including stripping the keys from the keyboard to remove the dust bunnies hiding underneath them, its turned out not too bad with only slight yellowing on the keys and a couple of dings on the casing. The machine is stock at the moment with no trapdoor expansion. Rev 8A motherboard, serial No 171976

The mrs picked up this little beauty for me (for free!), its a boxed Megadrive with the "high definition graphics, stereo sound" labeling, both on the console and the box itself :D It didnt come with a PSU or instructions though but I can get them easily to complete the package.
Ive got a regular boxed one but not one of these branded ones :)
Had the following a few weeks now but thought I would add to the "look what i have got" thread ;)
UNI-T UT801 Bench MultiMeter
UNI-T UTP3705 0-32V 0-5A Two Channle Bench DC Power Supply
UNI-T UTD2062CE 60Mhz 1GS/s Sample Rate Digital Oscilloscope
:)
Ha! Got a PFO e-mail from Apple Retail for a "Job" at an Apple store. (or is that an iPFO?)
Not like it was a total surprise! I was at least 15 years older than anyone there, and I am fat. Defiantly not the young hip people Apple hires. The recruter didn't even know what a "newton" was or who "Woz" is.
More details on my blog
In amoungst the floppies that came with it there was some workbench 1.3 disks which may explain where the keyboard came from, and now you mention it the power LED is red rather than green, I never caught onto that at the time (been away from them for sooo long) :/ cheers for the info :)
The pups are Fender Texas Specials. Not exactly great for shredding, but certainly a lot better than the Squier pups that were fitted at the time. GraphTech Nut fitted also. They were the only spare pups I had lying around
Pots and Switches came from a destroyed 60's Strat (Not salvagable :( )
Now just need a decent Tremolo Block that fits properly :)

I went on a drunken ebay trip a few nights ago. Anyhow, it worked out well becuase I got away with this lot for only XXX USD:
The seller is still figuring out shipping, but I think I made a steal!
A few things I found while cleaning out the old storage at work
