Not exactly a hardware. My present from the missus (I'll have my birthday soon...).
But it is indeed retro!
I have to contrast my disdain for Mr. "I AM PINK FLOYD" with the fact that I am, nonetheless, insanely jealous. You punk.
more of a gilmour guy my self. kind of lost heart in roger with all his "this is my money" arguments after the wall. kind of ruined it for every one.
however the closest ive been to floyd is watching the australian pink floyd tribute band..
they are actually prety good.
Grats on the tickets. Wouldnt mind going to see it my self, the wall is one of my fave albums. has to be in the top 3.

Every bit as modern as it can be, but it at least can adapt my retro lenses.

Got myself a Blackberry Bold 9900:). Quite impressed so far. Anyone else have one?
Picked up this PS1 "Debugging Station" on Sunday. It's not in great condition and I had to swap the power board & CD drive to get it working, but for £xxx I can't complain.

Now I'm Ninja :ninja:
Well, I got myself a replacement A600 motherboard complete with top and bottom sheilding so now my A600 is back up and running.
On the downside, I've found that my 1MB RAM expansion (trapdoor slot) for said A600 is buggered (never worked properly with the old A600 motherboad tbh)
Received today a CBM 1541-II (beige floppy bezel and twist plunger).
Appears to be working (both leds comes on, then the noise of the heads seeking for the disk, then floppy led goes out).
Will test as soon as I make a set of cables. One for the C64, one for Amiga connection and the last one for use in the pc with 64HDD interface.
Now to the seek for the DIN connectors...
Oh, BTW. This 1541 doesn't have a parallel interface. All 1541 have one?
____________________
Oops!
It is a 1541C with integrated (internal) power supply. Does it uses the same JiffyDOS ROM as all the others?
@Rogerio
All of the 1541 models have two Serial IEC connections and none of them come with a parallel connection built into them. :) The 1541C (28-Pin) and 1541-II use the same JiffyDOS. JiffyDOS from other drive models will not work.
Hope that helps!
Heather
My MAS Player from AmigaKit arrived yesterday, and what a lovely piece of kit it is.
http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...oducts_id=1078
It's a nice dinky little parallel port interface, and it even sports a tiny little Amiga Kit log on it.
Last night, after I wolfed down my evening meal I jumped straight on the Amiga, plugged the device in, powered it up and then spent the next three hours wondering why I couldn't get the thing to work.
After trying almost everything I decided to pop my head under my desk and to the back of the Amiga tower to see if the audio lead was plugged in the back of the adaptor. It was, but what did I see? I'd taken the power/joystick lead from the device, and instead of plugging it in the joystick port I'd gone and plugged it back into itself.
In the words of DelBoy - You plonker!
Once that was remedied everything miraculously started working.
You couldn't make it up, could you?!
I must give a special shout out to mfilos who answered a few questions I had, and who got me up and running with the device using Amplifier. Many thanks!
Not Amiga related but I spent my afternoon on another project

Just got back after a round trip to Norfolk paying a visit to my good friend Zetr0 and on the way picked up these awesome goodies
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...IMAG0131-1.jpg
Yep that's a mountain of C64's and a few Amiga's :D
Amoungst the Amiga's are an A1200 and A600 (both tested & working at Zetr0's place) and an A500+ without any battery leakage :o We opened it up (for the first time since the seal was in tact) and to our amazement the original battery had never leaked, of course we removed that right away and also we found an A501+ inside so this baby is a 2mb Miggy

*Sorry for the Airey36 style pics*
Was the the lot that was posted on ebay via eab that was in the guys cupboard?
Nice haul though
there pretty easy to use as you know steve, its just like using a 1541.:)
load"(add name here)",8 then type run hit return, basicly
is there any disks in with that lot,you jammy sod you.:p
dont get rid of the 64 steve when youve got a disk drive there great machines to use(cant say the same for the 1530's though too much loading and not a lot of play time)
Wow Steve! Impressive i must say. You must be really happy :-)
On my side went to 3 car boot sales today and came home with f all :-O
I have been saving up for a new macbook pro, but because I needed one now, and I couldn't wait anymore, I got a "temp" Macbook on friday. It was a good deal for a Mid 2009 model, basically what I see the 2006-2007 mac books go for. It's not perfect, and has been refurbished by Apple, but it was a good deal. First thing, loaded up Lion and it runs great. Because this is my "At Work" unit, and not my main machine, I opted for a 13" which I find is just the right size to lug around. Good little Photoshop unit. Yes, it has a "Keyboard condom" on it.
Thanks for the kind words guys, not lucky enough to get any Disks with the C64's but pleased that I have complete systems. I will keep at least the mint C64 as a complete setup and look at complact flash style solutions :)
Great find Steve I'm very impressed , id be in heaven I think :-)

Just picked up a mint Commodore 1084S monitor in original (slightly tatty) box.
There is very little yellowing, the front door hinge is still intact and the power button actually works.
Bonza!
came across this locally, and true to form I could not resist
an apple iic
2 monitors and stands
2 mice
manuals and disks, 2 external 5.25"'s, the internal drive works and the monitor I've tried is as sharp and crisp as.. a very-sharp and crisp thing indeed.
and an applewriter ii printer. When we get back to the UK I'll have to find some printer ribbons and show the kids what real printers sound like (not daisywheels, dot matrix : ) )
Almost all of it is a quite magical shade of yellow, I may have to brave up in the summer and retrobrite it.
:)
Nice:)
I just got 24 issues of the Memphis Commodore User Club Newsletters from 1988-1990. Got them off evilbay for a steal but had to preserve this part of history.
Iain
Got this fine piece for a bargain. Will have to try it out on Monkey Island on the Amiga.

I miss my c64 :(
ah well im trying to find some of my fave 64 games for my a500 now so it could end up better :)
Got my hands today on the new iPad with a light gray smart cover. Really cool display and camera. Nice upgrade from the previous iPad 2 I had.

Just picked up these 2 babies from a carboot sale for less than the cost of 2 beers.
Both complete with the front panel covers and both with working power switches.
Tested them out using CVBS and also tested the newer one with RGB. The older one has a din plug for RGB which i have no cable for.
Both working fine :-)
Ickle FDD emulator :)
