@SaviorX: you can call an A2000 a lot of things, but not "little". :D

nope..it is a nice little system....
Yeah, compared to a VAX.
But a complete working VAX would be just as cool- just saying....
Cool as in "neat", right? Those monsters dissipates the same heat as a malfunctioning nuclear plant.
Tomthul's awesome 8mb ram board arrived the other day and here it is with my 68010 proudly mounted on top.

i think i have one of the most supporting wifeys out there esp as i know a few people who are not allowed to have any consoles/retro stuff on show too. i have a mame cabinet in my living room, currently have wii, ps3, ps2, snes, 360 set up in the living room. A fair few hundred games up in the loft room with a saturn, neo geo and dreamcast set up. (she never goes up there though :-) - she is even open to the idea of me getting a neo geo cabinet for the living room too

It is indeed a cool bit of kit, plus tom is one of the nicest guys I have come across in the Amiga community.
Bought
Rainbow Vega 2 PS 3
XBOX METAL SLUG 3
All I can say about the ASUS GOOGLE NEXUS 7 is;
WOW!!!!!!!
Its fast, snappy, smooth, no lag.
Downloaded 500mb in under 20 seconds.
The screen is mint, finger marks are non-existant.
Touch is spot on and screen is pin sharp.
Even browsing the internet is very quick.
Awesome stuff.
Now I can finally play this properly :D

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Bought 'Dodonpachi Resurrection' for the Xbox 360 and it's an absolutely mental game! I foresee a rather large headache in store for me later
Sorry! No pic yet, but I finally found a copy of 'The Big Six' Dizzy CD32 compilation for a reasonable price on eBay, lets hope I get it this time (I've bought before but never arrived)
No pics yet...
Done some downsizing a shuffling of kit. Given my Onkyo 605 AV Amp and Quad Lite speakers to my folks and bought the Logitech Z-906 5.1 speaker package. surprisingly nice sound and looks neater for my small room.
Also received in the post a nice new shiny EverDrive 64 with USB. (Don't know what usb port is for though)
Got a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 again after having completed MGS HD Collection on my Vita :D
And incoming this week will be a nice little unknown amiga object called a GVP A530
If by "new" we mean "quite old" (and we usually do :P) then:

MicroPDP-11
Not in such nice condition as the one pictured, but all the important stuff looks to be intact. I've got a thread started about it over on the Vintage Computer Forum; can't wait to get it up and running!
My IDE68k v402 arrived today, here it is with my 68010 and 8mb RAM Board sitting on top of it - I had to remove the IDE connectors plastic shroud to get the ram board on as if I'd gone the other way I wouldnt be able to install the keyboard. As it is the RF shield no longer fits and has been retired.

Well it's not the usual kind of hardware, but here goes anyway...
Haven't had one since they stole my old bike last spring, did it feel good do a few trails in the area!

Only one small problem, my arse hurt pretty bad after riding it home from the guy I bought it from, guess I wasn't used to those 50 minute rides anymore.
Just paid for this!
Now awaiting delivery

Well this one has arrived! Just :D
I couldn't help myself when I saw this on eBay as a cheap BIN now so grabbed it!
Nice clean A500+ that will go nice with my spare 1mb chip upgrade and an ACA520
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/P1000492.jpg
The listing said this has been boxed up for years, which for me means I'm hoping it's not has much use and in turn that means there is a good chance the battery hasn't leaked (top tip there for you buyers) ;)
So of course, I have to break the seal!
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/P1000493.jpg
Nice and clean inside, that's another good sign :)

\o/
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/P1000500.jpg
Just a tiny bit of leakage, I've got some lemon juice working on that as I type!
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/P1000501.jpg
And of course battery is already removed and I'm just about to get the toothbrush and IPA on the affected area :butcher
Job well done I hope! :pint:
Very nice steve, not always easy to find a nice white A500+.
My next machine will probably be an A500+, it was the machine I was going to get back in the day, but was convinced to keep saving a couple of years for an A1200.
When the ACA500 comes out I can use the ACA1230/28 I bought off you
very nice miggys there steve mate
@Steve
Is the A1000 NTSC? Its got the NTSC casing (no "Amiga" logo, only the PAL ones had that).
Awesome finds Steve! More pics when you get some time mate... what is the monitor model out of interest?
Yeah the A1000 is NTSC (I assume it is anyway) as it's coming from the USA :)
Of course, there will be lots of pics  I'm not taking the Monitor though, it wasn't includes and besides would be too much to ship, I'm already paying $120 just for postage on the A1000!
The A500+ is tested and working now, just booted into Workbench 2.04 with a floppy and my 1mb upgrade is working so I have the full 2mb chip Ram.
Can't get my Supra 500RX Ram to work, showing up as defective, but I might have the zips in wrong, back to check the manual now lol...
Not a big problem though with all these new upgrades coming to the market
---------- Post added at 20:17 ---------- Previous post was at 19:21 ----------
I started a separate thread for the A500+ :)
Surpra Ram is working now too

Picked up a Brand New Sealed PS2 Network Card - HDD Type - from a Cash Converters type shop - result!
I do it every time...
Sorry - changed the post around a little....
Cheers - I also picked up a set of Joytech Component Leads (from the other bay) specifically for the PS2 - I would really recommend them as they give a superb picture on both my big LCD TV's and are hands down much better than standard AV and so much better than RGB Scart which can look a bit blocky on newer TV's - they improve the PS2 picture no end - If you are still into your PS2 then I suggest getting a set. (It' not me selling them!)
Yes - you need to change the default video output from RGB to Y, Cb/Pb,Cr/Pr in the PS2 system set-up.
Use the S-Video connection on the Joytech lead to first get a picture, then make the change in the PS2 Set-up, it saves automatically so just re-set, take out the S-Video, plug in the Component leads and select your Component channel on your TV - you should get the display. You'll need to use the red and white stereo leads also.
I'd been playing Pinball "Williams Hall of Fame" and Killzone through RGB on my big LCD and was getting really annoyed at the blockiness but now I have swapped to these Joytech Component leads it is so much better.
Picture is for identification purposes.
I have a component cable for my ps2 and i changed the settings to Y, Cb/Pb,Cr/Pr and it seemed to improve the picture on the dashboard but in game seems no different.
I also found that i cannot play ps1 games with the component cable connected (not sure if this normal or not) but when a ps1 game is loaded i just get a black screen but can hear sound. If i pull the component out and plug in the standard av then the picture comes right up.
This is quite normal with most LCD/Plasma TV's as most of them don't support low resolutions over component :(. I managed to play PS1 games using 'Blaze' branded PS2 component cables with my 3 year old LG LCD TV... I think the TV itself upscaled the resolution as it was reporting something like 640x400 (or maybe it was 640x480) when playing PS1 games through my PS2.
I can play PS1 Titles via the component cable but my TV's are about 4 years old.
My PS2 titles are all looking great with this Joytech cable, title screens, game play and all but I guess it is going to be down to what TV you have - results will vary I imagine. I'm just happy to have moved away form grainy AV and blocky RGB on my TV's - the cables aren't expensive either so I took a punt and it paid off.
My TV is a 32" Samsung thats about 4 or 5 years old but i've also noticed that if i plug my original xbox in via component on the same TV the picture flickers on and off every few minutes but is fine on a 22" Toshiba TV that is only a few months ago.
I should try the PS2 on there and see if it makes a difference.
just got a BBC Master compact... this is to be the kids learning machine as its small... didnt come with a base but I do already have a 5v psu and a drive cable (thx to a kind soul on sth)
I havent got all bits yet, will have to stagger these due to cost, but the bigger idea here is
give it a good clean - actually its pretty good, doesnt seem to need retrobrite at all and inside its spotless!
I have a neat little 2.1mm power splitter lead, 2 ways - one for the compact, one for the RGB>VGA board (which is to follow in time)
get a 64K and a couple 16k eproms sorted out for it
mount a power rocker switch on back left rear , a la a proper 'B'
mount a turboMMC inside the lid, I read it should solder up nicely
when I have some £, get an 8220 RGB>vga converter to save buying a scart lead, but most importantly the kids can use the wifes VGA Monitor :)
bingo!
:)
The component out on the PS2 is very noisy and the RGB signal is hands down the best quality out of a standard PS2. Some tv's may handle a component signal better than an RGB signal though. If your tv handles an RGB signal properly, then you should only use a component signal if the game supports progressive, in any other game, the blockiness will be the absolute same, since the resolution is the absolute same.
Personally I use an RGB scart cable, with an RGB-Component adapter, so I can just change the signal in the setup menu.

This little baby came with PCB from printer(???)
Not exactly retro, but just got this Silverstone Hot-Swap bay for my HP N36L Microserver (WHS 2011) - it will go into the Optical Drive bay and i'll throw in a 2TB drive to backup the OS Disk (The other 4 Drive bays are already full of Disks - 2x 2TB & 2x 1TB drives being managed by StableBit DrivePool).
