He he, thanks guys. Good news is it booted up just fine and seems to work (output in RTG thru the BVision), just need to test the PPC side :)

Stevo,,,,
Can I pls borrow it for a few weeks so I can learn about ppc amigas and os4..
pretty pls with a cherry on top
Your cool bud
I don't see why not mate, I could send you the Motherboard, BPPC/Bvision and as long as you have a decent PSU it should work fine for you to test and have a play.
The Tower is a bit of a beast to post tho lol, hence why it was local collect.
I'm just prepping a CF with OS3.9/CGX4 so I can test out some Warp3D/PPC games
Steve.
Yay, it works :)
Sure, I know it would be in good hands and be my pleasure to let some that don't have the opportunity to test this hardware have a go!
I'm just in the process of fully testing that everything is working as it should, these cards have been used in this Tower since 2000 on a regular basis without any extra cooling :o
But I guess it's better for this old hardware to have been used over the years. I felt pretty guilty when I took this of that guys hands today as he was holding back a tear to see it go :(
A couple more piccies & a short Video of Wipeout 2097 on the way, I'm surprised how well it runs on PPC166/BVision, it's really not far off my PPC330/Voodoo 3 :coffee:
Shame IDE is so slow on 040's though, anyone else notice that?
funny, every time I see that wipe out screen, I think of the Video by fluke called Atom Bomb:picard
Well here's that Video I promised:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lcFbzntvrk
And OS4.1 Classic Booting from an old backup, something isn't right though (docky bar missing and nothing will load!), need to do a clean install really :coffee:
Got my first bigbox Amiga! Swapped my CD32 for this fine A4000D. :D
Needs a keyboard and a CF HDD, but other than that she's good to go.
Incredibly sleek little thing.

Ooooh, Cart Emulator for Commie 64's with SD Card Slot?
http://krikzz.com/
they have Everdrives for:
MegaDrive/Genesis/Nomad
SNES
Sega Master System
GameGear
N64 and
TG16/PCEngine
A nice new Original Grey keyed Speccy... well its not here yet but hopefully soon
My HxC Rev F arrived today! The packaging was damaged during shipment but it appears that the unit is OK. I'm going to test it tonight or tomorrow. I'll write a review of it as soon as I get it installed in my Amiga. Lotharek sends both a white faceplate sticker and a black faceplate sticker to match the computer in which it is installed.
Heather
very nice heather looking forward to your review
will you put it in a drive bay or an external floppy case
This one will definitely be put in a drive bay. I'll use one of my other HxC emulators as an external floppy drive.
Heather
Today I received this very nice looking Atari 65 XE from keitha here at AmiBay. Thanks!
I have a SIO2PC-USB adapter coming to me so I will be able to play games with it. Looking forward for a session with Moon Patrol and Elektra Glide. :)
Got this from a charity shop today for less than the price of a pack of crisps.
Needed a new battery but it works just fine. Boxed and all :)

Just received my black CDTV keyboard; a bit dusty but in good shape, should clean up really well.
Proper UK layout too which is always a bonus :)

No picture but finally got a smaller form factor optical drive that works in my A4000. The one I got there was so big that the cables were crammed against the PSU fan. Now there's a bit of breathing room. It's a LiteOn CDRW, so I have the ability to also write discs.
Also got a Sony MPF-920E 131 floppy drive. I could try to find a suitable GAL and try to mod a HD floppy drive out of it to replace my slightly flaky Chinon FZ-357
So the next new addition to my toybox is a fab 500+ ! Not too exciting in terms of hardware you might say, and Im normally inclined to agree.
However, I couldnt believe my eyes when I opened this up!:woot:
I wouldnt normally do this many piccies, but when I took one look inside....
First of all, the sworn enemy of any 500+, it is of course the battery. Leakage has started, but luckily is has only just gotten to the bottom of the lug that holds it in place :
Attachment 32268
First things first then, hack it off and inspect the damage. A few tiny spots of battery acid have dropped down onto the board :
Attachment 32269
Immediately onto emergency lemon surgery (You can actually see the acid fizzling in the lemon juice here) :
Attachment 32270
10 minutes later and its looking cleaner already :
Attachment 32271
A gentle scrub with a toothbrush and some IPA cleaner spray, now shes looking better, no permanent damage to the board whatsoever :
Attachment 32272
Onto the rest of the board then. Absolutely fantastic condition, not even a spot of dust or a single breadcrumb to be found anywhere :
Attachment 32273
Even the tracks under the battery have survived unscathed :
Attachment 32274
Now onto some of the other tell-tale signs I look for regarding overall condition. The back of the RCA style output connectors and the pins on the back of the other sockets. Not a single spot of corrosion, rust, dirt or anything else :
Attachment 32275
And moving further along, again, not even a hint of anything bad :
Attachment 32276
Shes clearly been kept somewhere thats warm and not overly moist then.
The main board :
Attachment 32277
More images to follow !
The board is a 500+ with the original identifying marks still clearly visible and unspoilt :
Attachment 32278
Its an 8A revision board but a further sticker shows 8A1, probably a minor difference; I dont know what that difference is but pretty much the latest revision I believe :
Attachment 32283
The original factory sticker in there too :
Attachment 32279
Something else I look at is the resistors that surround the battery area; they are often a good sign if it has leaked and been cleaned up, but no sign of anything here, nice and shiny :
Attachment 32280
And again :
Attachment 32281
The final ones around the battery :
Attachment 32282
Also that strange thing with the coloured wires, its in excellent shape :
Attachment 32284
Even the RF shielding is immaculate, not a spot of rust or corrosion anywhere; on the bottom :
Attachment 32285
And again on the top :
Attachment 32286
A nice clean keyboard; only a cheap mitsumi but im not complaining :
Attachment 32287
Back of the keyboard is spotless too :
Attachment 32288
And finally, her sworn enemy. An old Varta NiCd battery, now safely out of harms way :
Attachment 32289
She really is the best condition 500+ Ive ever come across !
Sourced from the other bay.
The seller stated mint condition, and that was true for a change.
Im going to enjoy working with this one :)
I'll add some case pics later!
Nice one
(Worthy of it's own thread though IMHO) :)
Finally, the case pics. All looking good here; nice and clean, no signs of any rough handling or treatment :
Attachment 32295
Around the logo which is unscratched (A good sign of possible rough handling previously) :
Attachment 32296
And even the stickers underneath looking good. The edge has curled up a bit on the main silver one, but its not been removed, or damaged through excessive or aggressive cleaning :
Attachment 32297
Overall a very worthy addition rescued from an acidic demise
Yay an 8220 RGB > VGA converter has just arrived. It's a bit bigger and deeper than I hoped... it may not fit inside the Master Compact I was hoping to shoehorn it into. hmm...
I didn't want it to go external but i guess it'll do! time to get measuring!
@ WonkeyDonkey nice clean 500+ look after her
@ iainjh is it for miggy use or other
look here for info

steve they put the wrong address on them ive been waiting for them for 2 weeks
A new secret A1200 project Steve....? Sounds interesting...!!
Been using my Apollo 060/80 Amiga A1200 of late - forgotten how quick it is!
Got to love the A1200...
Epic score for me today, I thought that back in '96 when I sold my original a500, I'd sold all my software with it ...... Well Apparently not, I just found an entire box of Miggy disks hiding in the Garage with my old IBM boxes of 3.5" disks!!! :D
Im absolutely amazed, somehow these disks have followed me from Adelaide in '97 to Sydney, back to Adelaide in 2000, then to Melbourne in Mid 2000, and then back to Adelaide in 2007!!! That's almost 5,000kms of travelling over 15 years and have lived in 11 houses!!! :D

You have a new project? :o
If you have had the electronic engineering skill of jens schoenfeld, jeri ellsworth and thomas hirsch. We've been looking at the Amiga 5000 about now. You sure have the passion and stamina ;)
I've yet to complete one project in the time you've done.. about a ... Googol
Johnim its for a bbc master compact. i cant buy another tv and this is the kids machine so they'll be sharing a pc monitor - rgb > vga out will be essential.
so far investigations show it fits with 1 or 2mm clearance so... here goes with the bbc surgery :)
edit - and ta for link!!
He he yeah sorry guys I do get a bit excited with all the projects! Once I have kids this will stop so I'm making the most of it whilst I still can!!!
And look what arrived today! Am I the first to get these? :o
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/P1000644.jpg
The boards look nice ! I'm still waiting to hear from Kipper but no rush here .. I have those kids you mentioned
Well a good day for me. I have this to play around with!
http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/s...8_174705-1.jpg
Thanks to SleepyMan! :D
Nice one tokyoracer :)
If your A1000 is missing the daughterboard, i believe it'd fit. The orientation of the pcb looks like the components next to the 68000 are pointing towards the center of the motherboard, which is a good thing! :)
EDIT: Heck, it might fit anyway! I believe it would be something like this:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...lipboard04.jpg
Excuse the quick pic editing, but i hope you get the picture..
Nifty looking project Steve. I think the A1200 is my fave of the lot looks wise. Any further hints as to what you're planning?
I ordered these with my last lot but they have only just arrived (They were from Hong Kong in spite of being listed as Item Location: UK). Thankfully they appear to be the genuine product and not a fake...
Hurray for 20th Anniversary Sonic stuff! (Though we're now just past the 21st,)
Dropped off what was left of my mother's old PC at the electronics recycling center and landed on a very white and nice Commodore 128D. There's just no way that I'm leaving such a nice C128D in there.
The disk release latch was limp but it was easily fixed as there was this little rod that had moved away from top of the head mechanism. Ran a few tests with disk, cassette and cartridge games and everything seems to be working fine.
Received yesterday in the post, from a benefactor who shall remain anonymous; you know who you are....;)
Thank you so much, I don't feel worthy.....:bowdown:
Hardware pr0n to follow soon, when I replace my PC1204 expansion with this beast.... an Apollo 1230 Turbo Mk.3...
