got a purelamp led projector in the post today.
chose it because it had 20000Hrs lamp life "considerably more than any others i saw"
the next equivalent with the same native resolutions had 2000hrs lamp life + a free bulb. Which is still less than 1/4 of the stated lamp life.
here is a pic i found on google
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/New-Home-Thea...7E%7E60_35.JPG
1 thing to note is. 1300 Lumens is not very bright lol. (probably why the extended lamp life)
But Provided i use it at night it will be very useable for films. "the reason i bought it"
native res is 640x480 (most of the others were 320x240) says it suports 1024x768 but i had it up to 1280 x 768 with no issues when i was trying to configure it with CCC.
640x480 is the minimum im willing to have for a resolution for movies though as its pretty much the old school pal crt tv res.
Im happy with it.
came with a waranty too.
later when its dark i will try and take a picture of it projecting a film on the wall. "my wall is not the best thing to be used as a screen, but i over spent. so i dont have a snazzy screen"
"sorry for adding the price but it was a brand new can be bought from retailer price, not second hand or auction. so i thought that was allowed"
edit.
finaly got around to adding the pic.
this is at something like 1366x768 "or something" so i dont know why it said max res was 1024x768. It dosent seem to like wide screen resolutions though.
My wife also insists that i need to point out, That i have an awesome wife that gave me the ok to buy it.
Oh yeah.. I stuck an ipod nano to the wall with double sided tape so you can get an idea of the size of the viewing area..
EDIT
If the switch is in shape of a Coca-cola bottle it is easy to locate a replacement.
Might be a bit hard to swap the switches if you can't solder.
Got a new job :D yaaay
I got a Black & Decker Dustbuster FREE off Tesco for taking up pet insurance.
It is now clogged with the cats hair
EDIT
Just got sonic generations and sonic & sega all stars racing. Both very tight and enjoyable :)

I picked up two BBC computers yesterday. The Micro apparently had the power board removed and has some loose wires inside.

And the 3rd item is the desk their on, that is a 270 by 80 by 2,6 cm, original price 145 euro and I got it for 25 :D
Certainly NOT retro but I've wanted one my whole life. :)

Heather
Good Lord!
That's awesome Heather!
Do you have Summer where you are then? We don't... :-(
LOL! Yeah, we have wonderful summers here. I went swimming last night. I'll probably be able to use it up until the end of the month. It was only finished a few weeks ago so I haven't had much time with it yet. Next summer will be wonderful!
I didn't get a heater for it because it is SO expensive to heat that much water. I filled up the whole thing with my garden hose.
Heather
*EDIT* There is 1,125 Square Feet of concrete around the pool. I wanted lots of usable party space. :)
Heather, it's very simple to make some ecological heating system investing not much money.
You have to derive the returning water from after the pump/filter tube to black hoses installed over the house roof. Then back to a point after where the derivation was taken.
ok, busy few days.
Friday Got an A1200 in from Airey36 for a friend

Well, that's the final straw Heather :wooha:
I am MOVING IN now
Need a poolboy? ;)
Gratz on the nice pool though, looks awesome
LOL! I may need a pool boy at some point. I think you might have to fight rkauer over it though. :p
I'm going to geek up the poolside (once I can afford to!) by setting up a nice flat screen television and other AV stuff. I might even go for a projector of some type... The possibilities are endless!

The next new thing in my Amiga toybox :
An external CDTV black floppy drive :)
Attachment 33632
Attachment 33633
I dont see why not steve, as far as i understand these are compatible with any amiga kit using the standard external floppy port. I'll actually be using this on one of my A500's.
Well, this is something a little different; one of my pet projects Ive been working on over the last 15 months or so
Its a scale replica of the Aston Martin DB5 as originally used in the early Bond films.
Its one of those that comes with weekly magazines where you get one part at a time and build it up.
It has working steering, lights, indicators, horn, internal dash lighting, the hidden map display, working ejector seat, spinning number plates and all the original gizmos as seen in the film.
Shes around 18 inches in length now fully assembled and weighs an absolute ton!
I got the final couple of parts today and finished her :)

Another fine addition to my man cave!
hehehehe nice car
I want heathers pool Tool
Nice mr postman deliver this to me today.
Time to tell the story. A friend of mine asked to lend him my old trusty Kada 850.
He pick my station and got home, put the machine on his room and his missus asked him to go to the market.
While he was away a burglar break into his home and steal his computers (an awesomely expanded FS-A1WSX MSX2 and his laptop), his LCD monitor and my station...:picard
He offered me to pay for a full replacement, but then I think it is time to have something a bit better, so I bought a new station with a ESD-protected soldering iron, too.:)
He paid half of it.
Win-win situation. If the SOB get imprisoned he can keep the old station to himself.
nice rkauer
i hope the burgler burns himself
Yeah, and this new station also is 220V.:)
The old one was 110~127V and was a pain to use because I had to put a large (1000W) step transformer in the mains just for it. :banghead:
so really he done you a favor mate
Bought a PS Vita to replace my PSP. What a machine. The game Uncharted is amazing.
Very nice Rogerio!
Well here are my latest toys, got this sweet PS2 off another Amibayer, It's already becoming a favourite and getting much more time than the Fatso (PS3), that's for sure!
Testing the component in on my GBS-8220 too, fairly decent picture for a $20 device I think, even though it seems to run a tad hot. The idea is to build a custom RGB/Yprpb switch/upscaler/scanline converter with the GBS as the "heart" (imagine a budget XRGB), we will see how it turns out...
Did I mention the PS2 is an awesome platform?
Got a Texas Instruments TX486DLC/E-40GA CPU. Now it's time to search for a functional 386DX motherboard, or an Amiga bridgeboard to install it into.

Just spent an hour testing all the voices :D
