Picked up a very cheap 19" LCD HD TV just a pitty it smelt like it had been used as a bong.
And some gamegear games from the doggy charity shop now all i need is a gamegear to go with it.
Did you have to pay extra for the bong aroma? :)
Bryce.
Just popped in 3.1 for my A500. Ready for Zeus68k or ACA 500 :)
..Also you can see the newly aquired megachip, 010 and the speedy repair of an accidentally cut track near JP2 :picard
..aaand this nice beast of a printer that has it's drivers uncluded in WB2.1, 3.0, and 3.1 I believe :D
Ooh! I've got a LaserJet 6P collecting dust here at work. It might have a new home. :)
Heather
Nice Heather !
I believe the drivers are included in 3.5, 3.9, 4.0 and 4.1 as well.
A gift from one of my customers that were cleaning out a basement the other day. Not sure it works  wil have a go tomorrow with my a600.
Got my Master Everdrive & Super Everdrive today.
Ripped apart my pilot wings cartridge and fitted the DSP1 chip to the super everdrive and all is working great. Fitted into the Pilot Wings case and just need to print a label now :)
Since i've never had the pleasure of the SNES till recently, what are some of the consoles better titles to try? Have tried Pilot Wings, Mario Kart, Street Fighter & Donkey Kong Country but looking for some others. Don't really have a favourite genre, willing to try pretty much anything :)
The Master Everdrive is also working fine but need to find a donor cartridge for it.
If you like the Zelda series then A Link to the Past is a must play game. There are also a ton of great RPGs for the SNES. It's still one of my favorite consoles.
Hope you enjoy it!
Heather
Funny that you mention that 6p Heather ... I just put a 6mp in the junk pile here at work ... MmmmmM :D
I'm currently trying out all the top line whey protein products... up this week is Pro-optimal... tasty! and bloody expensive :(
I bought Yakuza Dead Souls for the PS3 and i think it's much better than Lollipop Chainsaw :). I also bought FEAR 3 for the PC, but i can't seem to find any active multiplayer matches :(.
@Bobpard, fitting the chips (2 chips and a clock generator) to the everdrive was actually very easy. Just pop the chip in place, holes are already there on the everdrive board and were empty on mine, and add some solder to the legs on the other side of the board. The board is silk-screened to show which way round to install the two chips but not the clock generator. I found out which was this went through some instructions posted by an Australian ebay seller.
The hardest part was removing the 3 pieces successfully from the pilot wings cartridge with my limited soldering skills. I managed to remove the smaller 74HCU04 chip and clock generator relatively easy but broke 3 legs of the dsp1 chip when removing it. Luckily there was enough of a stub of the legs left for me to bridge it when installing it on the everdrive. First game tested was Pilot Wings which worked fine, then Super Mario Kart which again worked fine.
Can take a photo if wanted?
Theres a list of unsupported games (games that use custom chips) here
I bought a KCS Power PC Board today - It should be really handy having a full XT PC with SoundBlaster & Adlib Support inside my 500+ :D

Ahh I have one of those KCS Power PC boards. I really ought to try it out some day.
I think I snagged the v4.2 edition and it came with all the software and manuals - cant wait to get it and see what it can do! :D

I scored a Roland MT-32 MIDI Synth Module cheap today from Fleabay!
I've wanted one of these ever since Sierra started supporting them in their Quest Series of Games! :D
What's midi support like on the a500? As I wouldn't mind using it on my 500 too.
I dunno how many games support MIDI, let alone MT-32, but I know the Sierra titles do, and I expect LucasArts games do too. You'll have to get an RS-232 to MIDI converter, but otherwise it's dead simple to set up.
I bought a Compaq Armada 1700 laptop from electronics recycling center store. The one in picture is not the exact unit but similar. Mine's a lot dirtier.
It powered up and at least booted Win98 to some point. Going to have to see if it has enough guts to run XP. It does have Pentium II which is the absolute minimum to run XP. Don't know about the memory though. Needs a thorough cleaning too.
This was absolutely positively definitely the cheapest solution to my need of writing disk images on real floppies as it comes with a floppy drive. It also has a serial port so I'll be able to use it with my OBD-II interface. I'll also install my Saab workshop manuals on it. :)

I bagged a stock, still sealed German a500 with KS1.2 cheap on fleabay for my KCS Power PC Board today. :D
Now trying to decide if I buy another CF-IDE68k or get a HxC for it. :D
ACA 1232 + Indi ECS
Got this through from Brian, just got to carve up the case on my a1200....
couldn't quite afford the Sean Kelly 60-in-1 Vectrex MultiCart so i picked up this 32-in-1 Vectrom for about 1/3 the price instead.
appears to contain all the games that were originally commercially released for the Vectrex anyways (save for the games that used the 3D imager and AnimAction, and Minestorm as well (which is built in to the Vectrex anyways))
but also has:
Pong (kinda like breakout, but no blocks to destroy)
Patriots (Missile Command clone)
Vector Vaders (Space Invaders Clone)
Nebula Commander (kinda like 2 Death Stars duking it out)
and
Tour de France (unreleased prototype)
Clean Sweep and Mr. Boston are both included and the same game (i believe) so really a 31-in-1
cart is not menu-driven and games are instead chosen by 6 dip-switches, a little bit of an annoyance, but oh well.
Can't wait to play it!

Oh yeah. Really got to get those stilts on my miggy...
Not retro in any way, but I just bought myself an Evolution Fury circular Saw. It's got a special blade that is multipurpose, allowing it to cut through pretty much anything wood, metal or plastic.
In addition to cutting each type on its own, it means if you are cutting some wood with nails in, the saw will just carry on through the lot, compared with a standard wood cutting blade that would kick back and be dangerous.

Got a WiFi Vita last weekend. V. Happy with it after all.

128GB SSD for my Macbook Air as my 120GB HDD was starting to die slowly.
hi steve what
did you get and what would you recommend for desktopQuote:
A 120gb OCZ SSD
thanks protek will have a look at the drives
I had an Intel 330 Series 120gb SSD in my desktop PC and it worked perfectly fine. It also came with a 2.5-3.5 bracket for mounting in the desktop case.
I have now moved that drive to my laptop and installed an OCZ Agility 3 series in my desktop. Had no problems with either ssd but imo the Intel is slightly quicker. Not done any benchmarks but the intel just seemed to do things that little bit quicker.
Hi John I got the series 2 for the netbook as it's on special offer on ebuyer.
I have the series 3 on my pc as the os drive only.
SII is about 300mb sec and series III about 500mb sec :-)
Series 2 should be enough for my Netbook :-)

This was from me to me
Nice Present Steve :)
Happy Birthday buddy
thanks guys, nice pressi mate
Bought myself a cheap Asus Xonar DG sound card for my PC. The onboard audio was ok, but it wasn't enough to properly drive my sennheiser HD 600's! The audio is now brilliant with the cards built-in headphone amp and 'Dolby Headphone' virtual surround support for gaming . It shows that even a cheap sound card is a nice step up from onboard audio (which in my case was a THX certified Realtek ALC892 chip supporting 24-bit/192Khz and 7.1 surround sound... But the cheap Xonar DG still manages to sound miles better!).
Ive had a Xonar DG for a couple of years now, more than happy with it, and it sounds very nice with headphones.
I got another breadbin c64 arrive off ebay.. I now have 2 that have no picture :( oh well, it was cheap.
Just ordered a new Xbox 360 headset for my partner as hers broke... I bought the wireless 'Orb GPX11' which she can also use with her PC :). I ordered from Grainger Games as they were significantly cheaper compared to all other places
