Bought another AV control centre as they were going for £16 on Amazon when I was looking for the link for someone else. Allows you to connect 7 devices to one scart slot (composite or component connections) very nice piece of useful hardware for the price.

You get a nice remote with it too but I find it's not really needed as after a few seconds it auto changes to the channel a signal is coming from. You can also label the 7 channels as you like to be displayed on the LED and it saves them when the power is off.
Finally, after months of waiting (and a b**** fit via email to RS Components) I've received my Raspberry Pi - for my troubles they've given me the new 512MB version (instead of the 256MB one) so I'm now happy :)
I'm currently posting from the Pi and just messing about in Raspian seeing what it has to offer etc. not decided on which project I'm going to carry out with the little blighter yet. May go and get a bigger card though, as I'm only using a 2GB SD card.
Well, I got an A604 from Gentle Eye, which is the local equivalent of AmigaKit. Gotsta support your local Amiga business. :)
Picked up an A4000 and an A2000 today, cost me a bit in fuel and a few bottles of wine.
Sorting through alot of stuff but briefly
The A2000 had an A2630 with 4MBs, a A2000 HC GVP controller and harddrive, 2 Disk Drives and 3.1 Roms.
The A4000/040 has a CDRom installed, a harddrive attached to a DKB rapidfire, a Vlab Motion, an Emplant board and a Opalvision card The cpu is an 040 there is 3.1 roms and a buster 11 and the MB is fully populated.
Both machines are in great condition.

Just ordered a new gaming headset for my PC as i don't really like using my expensive Sennheiser HD 600's for gaming!... So i bought a cheap and cheerful 'Alienware TactX' headset :).
Just fell really lucky at the car boot sale this morning and found these 2 projectors:

So the other day I got this 500 from the other bay.
Little disappointed at first since a key fell off as soon as I took it out of the box :(
BUT, it clicked right back on and is working great :thumbsup:
I also noticed it was kind of a special keyboard (see pic, it needs a cleaning as there are some fuzzies living in it :o )
Upon opening the case I also noticed a memory expansion I hadn't seen before :thumbsup:
Not too much information on this board at all, looks like the 1000 version was a bit more common. I had to figure out on which pin of Gary I had to connect the connector but it is all working now :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
So pretty happy now after the initial disappointment !!

Any suggestions? Any curiosity to see the build (can start a new thread if so)? I can say that the TBC IV won't work with this daughtercard...it just isn't going to cut it. However I have toyed with the idea of getting an old 386 desktop just to power the tbc's and getting a few of them...or getting a kitchen sync. Thoughts? Thoughts on hard drives? Should I source old scsi drives or do scsi->ide->cf ? How fast will I need to be able to read/write?
It's basically built. And it's fun. But I need a cdrom in order to use my toaster installation...all in due time. :)
I got my still sealed, stock, german a500 with a KS1.2 rom yesterday in the mail. :)
Little beasty fired up perfectly and all i need to do now is throw some extra HW at it that I have lying around - Im also considering making it into a HxC game machine. :)
Picked up this sweetie from a very nice gentleman. It was hist first amiga, and looks to have been taken good care of. I am happy with a fair deal.

Turns out the Alienware TactX headset is just plain cheap with nothing cheerful about it... The right ear cup started rattling and crackling and the sound started to get extremely tinny! I don't care much for over use of bass, but this headset had no bass at all! Luckily Amazon have a great returns system... I also avoided the Steelseries 5HV2 as it's the same as the Alienware headset.Quote:

a stack of manuals for some of the games, other games which were not included, console manual, expansion module manuals + original posters which came with Squish Em Sam and one for Sewer Sam (always nice to get these)
a couple of controller overlays (mostly for the super action sports games)
the interesting thing i find about ColecoVision stuff, moreso than any other console it seems that they *rarely* come with their original boxes (well, Atari 2600 carts too, but A2600 carts in their boxes aren't hard to come by if you really look, there's just SO many A2600 carts floating around)
i bought 21 Intellivision games a couple of weeks back...every one in their box...most with manuals and overlays.
of the 3 early 'big' North American consoles (A2600, Intellivision and ColecoVision) the CV has the best Arcade conversions (until Atari put out the 5200, they were good too)
a cheap 1.2ghz 7 in tablet
then a free on misses contract a nexus 7 32gb

Your broken controller port is most likely due to a fault chip. I had a problem with mine so I removed both controller chips then soldered in sockets. I bought a bunch of chips for spares as well.

thanks Heather...its a good bet it is the chip...i fired the console up and the problem appears to be the port is stuck going 'up' as if the controller was constantly pushed in the upward position....and barring every single controller being wonky :P usually that's a flaky controller chip.
other than that the console actually seems fine.
Definitely the chip. :) I had a heck of a time removing the old solder from the controller chips. Both of my Coleco's also had one pin bent on the bottom side of the board. I presume this was done to hold the chip in place before it was soldered.Quote:
