I got my very first homebrew games for the Atari Lynx (I already have Zaku but consider it to be a commercial game). These are Yastuna 1: The Alchemy of Cubes and Yastuna 2: The Space Incident. They are compilations of assorted homebrew mini-games, some of which are really addictive. Look out for a full review once I've had some thorough play time with them.

@Amiga Forever, Cammy & thgill - Nice purchases
I almost gt a Lynx at a Car boot sale but some Ninja got it before me and it had about 20 Games and was very, very cheap :ninja:
@ Steve .. you should have used a Vulcan Mind Meld on the ninja and have him hand it all over to you
And then give him a 5-er !
Found a Quickshot 2 Turbo from Tramel the other day. It feels pretty solid and seems to work but I think the cord needs changing because the moment I turned my C128 on I could smell the burnt plastic. First I thought the joystick had fried something in my C128 but on closer inspection it was the joystick itself that was frying. Probably exposed insulation in some of the wires, which is causing a short.
Other than that and the missing side panel, it's a nice looking joystick. I never had one as a kid even though I would've liked one.

Thgill, nice selection! When you have the side cart in an Atari would you mind please posting a pic with it in, and is it much bigger than a game cart?
And i did not know about the hxc slim at all.. hmmmm!!!nice!!
Cheers:)
Will do! Might be a couple days till I get to that though.
As far as I can tell, its more or less the same size as a regular game cart.
It's about 90mm long, 68mm wide and about 19mm thick.

Look for a mini review sometime over the weekend. I won't go into mega detail as its basic functionality is the same as the regular HxC, but I will detail some changes and the whole 1 button and no display thing.
Not retro, but still amazing. my home office have a new member:

very nice haul

the opposite would be worse. kids take up a lot of space.. and money ;)
Commodore A4000T - well... that leaves me speechless... :D
Congrats!
steve would get itQuote:
The lot was in Denmark....
my 2 girls take up less space than my machines they share 1 room and the computers are in all rooms
Well, after the haul - the sig should say 5xa4000D PLUS 1xA4000T
:) have to get "rid of some of them" - but havn't had time to get the up and running yet.
---------- Post added at 18:52 ---------- Previous post was at 18:48 ----------
Yeah - but for now it's a non-working A4000T - trying to get it up and running. Have removed C= ethernet, Vlap motion and Tocatto sound card.
Have replaced the A3640 board, reseated Kick roms and replaced memory.
Will try to moved the bits to a known working A4000, to find out what it is that is not working.
Wife tell's me to open the red-wine know - so no more trouble shooting today.
When filling the dish-washer I just had a quick check of the CD32 - since I noticed a "bump" on the back: Nice suprise - it's with the FMV Module :-). The guy owning this stuff before was into CDTV/CD32 development - there's lot's of documentation on MPEG programming and CD related stuff - look forward to see what's hidden on the HD's
It's up and running - with the IDE HD disabled, the Amiga works - so now it's a working Commodore Amiga 4000T

XRGB-Mini Framemeister!! Gorgeous RGB to HDMI upscaler. Tested it so far with my SNES and it looks beautiful. Will test with PCEngine and look for my thoughts on it with the Amiga later today or tomorrow.

Boatload of SNES Scart RGB cables. Importing these and modding them to be suitable on NTSC SNES and SFC machines for some folks @ neo-geo.com

Bonus Framemeister screenshot of F-Zero with scanlines enabled.
My A1000 MIDI interface came in today, but that was expected.
What was not expected was the extra software that my friend Jozsi (tbtorro) sent me. I hope to have some free time soon to discover its' contents.
Thanks mate!

Ooh, fun. You should image that for the rest of us... ;)
Anyway, I made a stop in at Music-Go-Round this morning, and I'm afraid my addiction to old MIDI gear is growing worse...
http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/8531/emuproteus1.jpg
E-mu Proteus/1
Very simple; layers two ROM samples per voice, with a few tweakable parameters but nothing fancier than volume envelopes. But it's got some interesting presets (including a couple very nice Chris Squire-type bass sounds) and I've heard some great demos of what it can do when pushed.
http://img547.imageshack.us/img547/6424/rolandjv880.jpg
Roland JV-880
Another layered-ROM-sample machine, but with four oscillators per voice, better samples, and a hell of a lot more tweaking potential :D
@commodorejohn: Nice catch on both rigs man! Are those stock pics, or were you lucky enough to get them like that?
Haven't much sampling gear myself, just the AKAI S3000XL, but my brother-in law has an E-mu e64 which is a great machine for its age. My 'main' synth is a JD-800.
Those are from vintagesynth.com; the Proteus is a bit battered (mostly the paint has flaked off the lettering,) but the Roland is actually in quite nice shape. They both work fine, anyway, so I can't complain :)
Yeah, I'm normally not a big fan of ROMpler-based synths (give me a subtractive synth with knobs to twiddle or an FM synth any day,) but I'm growing fonder of the ones that have some tweaking potential in the way they're layered/filtered, like these or my Korg 05/RW, or a hybrid model like the Roland MT-32/D-50 LA synthesis. It helps that a lot of these are old enough that they're not just a bland General MIDI box and nothing more, too...the samples have some character to them.
