Nice one Juvvy
Bugger, I went looking and this site has the latest official firmware linked:
http://www.willgoo.com/jxd-s7300-dua...8gb-p-306.html
I was pretty surprised it's only $129 - that's a bargain! If I manage to get a job soon I'll but one as a present to myself assuming you can get yours working as it shod and are happy with it. :)
Today I received the IBM PS/ValuePoint 433DX/S I bought online. Unfortunately the box was not packed right so FedEx had to re-pack it. In the process the desktop got damaged: broken power button, damaged bezel, bent rear metal and the CPU was shaken out and all pins bent as well. Fortunately I have been able to repair most of this and it booted up fine to Windows 95. I will turn it into a MS-DOS 6.22 + Windows 3.11 machine eventually. I also need to buy a new BIOS battery. I really like the IBM PS/ValuePoint series because they are IBM quality (dependable, top line components, extremely well documented) and use cell batteries (so no leaking). It turns out this 486 is actually a Pentium Overdrive.
I also bought a Philips 109B CRT today (19"). Which is really cool. It goes with my first keyboard from 1991 that I still have (also Philips).

Extra-special hair-like fur fabric for my current project. I had to import this because I couldn't find any UK suppliers. I can't believe how realistic it is (photographs really don't show it, but it has the appearance of real animal fur - aside, of course, from being green :p) - really hoping that I'll get to use this type of fabric on other projects in the future, now.
Exactly what I was thinking Heather
Picked up a small mountain of goodies @ Arnljot's casa earlier today.
A4k power tower
Mediator
Radeon
Nic
Sound blaster
Woodoo fan
Scsi cd rom
Cheers mate !! Goodbye IRL. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/10/y8ahugym.jpg

Cool!
I got one of Majsta's Vampire 600 accelerators today. Installation was pretty straightforward and it worked right out of the box. Here are a few pics with mandatory SysInfo. :)
Thank you Majsta for this wonderful accelerator! :)
Today I received some fun stuff in the mail:
80486 cooler (still with paste & fan) [----] (I will install this once I get the i80486DX33)
CT1600 Sound Blaster Pro 2 [----] (I will keep this as a backup / collection item)
IBM USB Floppy Drive [----] (works great)
I also went to my local Goodwill (thrift shop) and bought:
PC Game Raider joystick [----], NIB / NOS
IDE CD-ROM drive [----] (not installed yet)
DIN (with PS/2 converter) keyboard [----], NIB/NOS Micro Innovations

I also bought some stuff online, which should be on the way soon:
Sound Blaster 1.0 CT1320 [----]
i480486DX33 [----]
MS-DOS 6.0 with COA [----]
I am still negotiating for another Roland RAP-10, 3 X Roland LAPC-I, 2 X Roland MCB-1, 1 X Roland MCB-10 and 1 X Roland SCD-15. With some of these items I am not 100% confident sellers will get back to me. :D
Fun fun fun!
The PC Game Raider joystick works really well with the CT1690 that I installed in my 486 IBM. I have player Lotus - The Ultimate Challenge with it already this evening. Hopefully I can get some nice Roland MIDI once I get some more equipment in next week.
My Play Expo purchases :)
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps8a6e007b.jpg
As you can see I didn't buy much, mostly due to the outrageous prices by the vendors there
Cheaper on eBay even with the postage!
Picked up a couple of 2600 starwars games at play expo but as Fitzsteve said the prices weren't exactly great
There were some bargains to be had on the smaller stalls but all the business sellers were high, I guess they have costs to cover so it's maybe a little harsh to give them too much stick.
It was nice to see some of the rare items in the flash even if I couldn't afford to buy them :)
No picture as i'm at work right now, but on Saturday I picked up an almost mint Nintendo DSi XL (Brown) complete with box, manuals and all the included accessories. Also came with an extra wall charger (not included with a new DSi XL) and 3 boxed games (Dogz, Zoo Tycoon and some other game).
All for the price one would normally pay for a DS Lite.
i got soo much stuff at play expo, since getting back though its all just stopped in the bags and boxes as this is the one thing i really wanted to get out and play. Been after one for years but always missed out on one at these events. So this year it was my turn to buy one before the doors opened to the general public :-)

but later that day i went on ebay to look for virtual boy games and ended up buying another machine from america with games and spare pad too!! only i could get two machines in one day.
also got some other goodies too like 3 famicom disk games, boxed gx4000, saturn usb pads etc
@Bobpard
Wow wow wow. Very nice! I've been after one of those for ages!
Very nice find and Wario Land for the VB is excellent!
Love the VB, have owned two including Wario Land which is awesome!
Yesterday I scored myself a free A500 with bunch of stuff! Only some few fixes here and there.

Got my copy of Sensible Software 1986 - 1999 book today. A year later after ordering from the Kickstarter campaign! Well worth the wait, really nice quality throughout...
As a benefactor I get a signed copy by Mr. Jon Hare, custom dust jacket (not shown) and my name is in there too :)
Actually going to buy another copy as this is too nice and collectable to read!
If you'd like one then grab them here > http://www.readonlymemory.vg/
An Atom Disc Pack!

EDIT
Got a new Desk! :)
No more working on Amiga's on the Dining table
Now I just need a nice Desk lamp as it's a little bit dark in this corner...
Yeah it's glass top, won it locally on eBay along with a really nice cabinet with doors (somewhere to store my consoles)
Was thinking an anglepoise lamp or similar
Will have my PC on there as I have to loose my smaller PC desk but still plenty of space as it's 1.6m wide
very happy to recieve my new amp today.
its class H but thats fine. its a technics sa-ex100EB-K, i chose it over the 300 because its stereo not 5.1 and produces 100w Rms per channel.
I have been working on my speakers for a while now. and they are still missing the high crossovers, which i need to make (parts in post)
but even then it sounds great.
after using some maths the ohms of my speakers right now come out to 3.9 ohms i cant really crank it up because of the lack of crossovers for the highs but it's great. I now have the volume i was looking for "mainly for the bass"
running with 2x 200mm 70 w passive subs.
should all end up at a nice 30w mid/high with 70w subs,
im a little dissapointed about losing a gfx eq which the fisher has and the technics dosent. but at twice as much power it was a sacrafice i chose my self.
Had to take a crash course in impedance speaker choices cabinet volume and crossover design to get where i am now, and im sure if i concentrate it will get better, but to me atleast the bass is nice and clear i hear it all. and even missing the high end crossover it has good mid and high range "will be better, as they do distort right now when bass kicks in as they are not supposed to be producing it"
My fisher is dwarfed by it.
also it is not passive cooled. has its own fan on the back. which means its an earlier revision that dosent have the issues of the newer revisions where they would go in to safety cut off due to over heating.
over all really happy with my choice this time.
turns out that 50w rms just was not enough for my likeing. it does have a higher THD at ~0.5%-0.8% where as the fishier was much lower at 0.007%.
(limit of a class H amp unfortunatly, to get the efficency up the THD suffers, ideally id like a class A, but id probably need to buy a sub station to power one at the volumes id like to use.)
I really like the fisher but it would have ended up broken if i had pushed it to produce what i wanted it to do. as it does not like impedance lower than 8ohms. and i am not going to subject such a lovely amp to that kind of abuse.
over all spend..
Well i have gone way over budget. the 1st amp i bought i had to sell on to recoup some of the money i spent on the fisher. and even if i manage to sell the fisher at the price i want for it, i will still be way over budget.
I guess i decided to spoil my self.
I had forgotten how much i love a good sound setup, and had subjected my self to listening to music though my tv or monitor speakers. Almost makes me want to cry to think about how long i have been without one of my greatest loves.
yay! today I got:
a cable from a BBC master compact to a dell slimline laptop floppy drive. This so I can finally finish my master compact (I'll update an older thread once I've got it all apart again and it all works)
Thanks to Mark Retroclinic for this super-twisty cable
and.. an Atmos!
I am correct there's still no SD or flash device for Oric, aren't I?
I'm pleased to get a good condition Batman Pack :) red light version, seal intact.
@ShambleS1980
I wish I had a clue about speakers and amps.
I could do with a nice amp for use with my guitar and Korg, but I don't know enough to commit to a purchase.
Let's see some photos!

As seen as a grand prize on the highly acclaimed, Pat Sharp hosted UK telly series, Fun House!
(it isn't highly acclaimed)
I've always loved the Amiga's box-art. The Batman pack is one of the best. The names Commodore gave to their computer packs were great too: Light Fantastic and Screen Gems spring to mind.
Mighty cool, the Batman pack, nice find
Korg what, out of curiousity?
Also, guitar amps are designed to color/distort the sound in ways that sound good for a guitar as well as amplifying it, so you generally don't want to run a keyboard through one. There are keyboard amps designed for that purpose.

Mark 'TDK' Knight's rewakening and the sensible software biography.
Hi Everyone. Fun thread to post!

Pretty stoked!
@Fuzion

Cyberstorm SCSI module
Picasso IV
Concertino module for Picasso
Ariadne II
Nice upgrades bitman
Going to be one kick @ss A4000 project! Please post pics :D
a guitar amp is like a pa, and not a regular receiver/integrated amp..
they have a very low input level. like the phono input on a integrated amp.
started using a program called virual dj on my pc through the amp now.
so i have had to buy a soundcard..
i have a soundblaster audigy 2 on the way now, which will let me power the amp with that as i hear the analog out on it is pretty good.
Which will leave the onboard card for headphones.
havent done any mixing in years, and used to do it with vinyls.
I have to say that these vitual dj things make it much easier.
obviously they arent perfect, but i can beat match like 4-5 out of 8 mp3's without headphones.
Which is impossible to do with vinyls.
im contemplating keeping my fisher amp and have that power some small monitor speakers, whilst my technics amp powers the jammo laser p5000 that are on the way.
I have a nice big garden so should make for some fun times in the summer.
I am semi detached so shouldnt be to much of an issue regarding noise.
My latest addition! :D
Only gave it a quick visual inspection, this thing looks awesome!
Can't wait to get home and see if it actually works
Not a 100% complete, missing some accessoires and a cartridge or two, but damn, am i a happy boy :)
On a side note: do these babies just take normal C size batteries (that are commonly sold) or do they need something special?
I also think it has a connector for a 9V DC adapter. Anyone happen to know the full spec of those?
Yay! You no doubt understand why I put it through guitar effects now.
Ooooh, sound's swish. Is this one of those organs that have the motor mounted over the speaker?? Does it have realistic sounds? I'm far from an expert (that much is obvious), but I think I remember Hammonds usually having realistic sounds e.g. piano, strings, etc.
Educate me please!
