My Game Room!

Well, I almost have my game room complete. There's some finishing touches and decoration that I need to do, but everything is set up and functional!

The left side of the room has shelves for games and decorations, all the game systems and televisions. The far end of the room has a wire shelf for storage with a stereo and Vectrex on top.

The right side of the room has my MAME arcade machine, a Sumo Sway Couple two-person bean bag chair, and another very full wire rack with game controllers, games, etc.

Here's a breakdown of the systems.

On the left shelf, there's an XBOX 360, PS3, Sega Saturn, Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Cube, Blu-Ray Player, HD Media Receiver, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, VCR, and TiVo.

There's a 32" Toshiba Regza LCD HDTV, two 6-Port Composite/S-Video Switch boxes, a 36" Sony Trinitron CRT Television, and a ColecoVision with trackball.

On the right shelf, there's a Sega Genesis with Sega CD and Sega 32X module (what a monster!), Commodore Amiga CD32, a Component Switch Box, Nintendo Wii, Sony PS1, Sega Dreamcast, TurboGrafx 16, Sony Playstation 2, A couple more switch boxes, Atari 2600, and an XBOX.

Finally, since I didn't want so many wall warts and systems plugged in at the same time, I have a total of four 6-outlet power strips with a power switch for each outlet. :)

I still need to do composite/s-video mods on the Atari 2600 and TurboGrafx 16. Other than those two systems, everything is connected and working.

I kinda like that series, but nothing beats the original first movie, and the 'archaeological' atmosphere it gives.

Had one of those 36" sony's last year (older model) but it broke and they're hard to come by here. Weighed a ton!

Very envious that you have a nice sized room for it all. I used to but had to give it up for Thomas so now have a room half the size... although at the moment in our temp rented house I currently have a room twice the size, but I must resist filling it up as I will then have to shoehorn it all back into the small room once the house has been repaired.

I like the StarGate stuff too. Shame that 200th episode wasn't quite as good as it could have been.. but at least it wasn't as bad as the end of Universe. So who's your favourite character? Daniel, Jack, Cameron, John?

I once found myself wondering why people on other planets didn't rely on cars as much as us. That was when I realised that watching SG-1 for a full 24 hours straight was not good for your perception of reality :lol:

LOL! I don't think I'd be very good at that. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and probably a bit OCD as well. It takes me forever to get everything just right. I've still got some other decorations to put up because what it still looks a bit spartan decor wise.

I lucked into this one. A friend was finally upgrading to an HD television so he gave this one to me. They are amazingly heavy! We pulled it out of his TV stand and I almost dropped my end. Ended up having to get another person with much larger muscles than mine to help move it!

Hopefully quite a long time. I've tried to make everything fairly accessible so stuff can be put away while not in use. The systems themselves will always be connected, but the controllers will be put away if not being used. Fingers crossed!

I enjoyed the 200th episode because they made a lot of fun of themselves. I agree that it could have been better though. Favorite characters are so hard to determine in this series because most of them were likeable. Is it odd that I actually enjoyed Rodney McKay's character? He was extremely annoying but I still liked him for some reason.

Thanks Red! I'm lucky that I basically have four bedrooms. My game room and one other bedroom are both about the same size. The other two bedrooms are much bigger. :)

Well organized and all that jazz. My computer room is a complete mess with boxes, shelves and cabinets full of computer stuff and monitors. And I'm talking about a 16m² room (that's ~172 ft²).

Paula don't let me disseminate the Amigas around the house, for some reason...

I can understand why. :) I try to keep my retro gear out of all the rooms except those I set aside for it.

Fantastic setup! I can only imagine how many CDs are in those CD cases. I have CD cases similar to those that hold a hundred or 2. Also, interesting how the guy from Red Eye Redemption is pointing a shotgun at the Jesus statue.

Awesome room love the Sega Megadrive stack

For maximum effect I have teamed my Megadrive with the 32x and mega cd1

Now that is a triple decker monster :lol:

Thanks Michael! Yeah, the biggest cases in the photos hold 500 discs. I'll leave everyone to do their own calculations on how many I have. :)

I thought about doing that with a couple of my cats, but I didn't do it soon enough and now they are way too scared to go out. They also don't like collars so I know they would hate a harness and leash.

See you've got a 36" Sony Trinitron too. They certainly give a great picture if you find a good specimen, especially with some tweaking, I dare say they even rival some modern flatscreen sets! I tried out the 32" model but neither of the two sets I dragged home had acceptable geometry, so I ended up with a simpler JVC set which was great for old rigs though.

Those 36"-ers weigh about 100kg so a total pain in the *** to move, I know since my old neighbour had one and while I gladly help out I didn't expect that beast to be so challenging. :lol:

Could do with an old CRT of decent size myself. Postage kills it every time though! No cars available here either so my chances of getting one are slim. :lol:

Thanks guys! Yeah, I love the 36" Sony Trinitron. The fact that I got it for free from my friend who bought it new is really nice as well! The MAME cabinet has a 27" Wells Gardner Flat Screen that I picked up from the X-Arcade store before they were discontinued. Talk about a beast! I mounted it in my arcade cabinet with the help of two people and it was still a nightmare. I'll never do that again!

Yep! That's a very nice setup. :) I bought that Star Trek: A Final Unity game when it first came out! I still have everything that came with the game, including the digital 'Worf' pin, but I threw out the plastic box and the cardboard box some time ago. That was before I was collecting so I didn't see a need to keep it. :(
