I just had a look at the template for the adapter, I'm 99.9% sure it will be fine however the print out was slightly smaller than actual size, my thinking is that just allows more room ;)

That looks good Steve. I think the fit is good, just the one question, Can the 34 pin floppy be removed without having to remove the Mem board, worst case scenario if the board has to be removed then so be it. I dont think it will happen all that often.
I'll finish up counting what other boards i need and i'll submit an order prob Thursday, so i should have them about 4th Sept. For anyone reading this, The A1000 will need the Rev6 mem board and not the Rev5 boards which are a different design. I have about 20 boards so mabbe people should let me know sooner than later if they want one so i can plan ahead

Worst case the floppy drive can be lifted, it will be a little bit tight to remove with the everything in place but with the end product I think it should be a perfect fit and enough space to remove the floppy cable :thumbsup:Quote:

Sorry to hear about the clearances, You may be interested in the V5 version as the design is a lot different and may be able to enjoy the IDE68k installed in there. I'm curious why the ide68k board wouldnt work when piggy backed on top?Quote:

I have just done some reading on the IDE68K project and i can't find anything in the setup, connections or conflicts in code that should interfere with the 2 boards getting along. If i had a IDE68K board i would be able to do some more troubleshooting but availability of the IDE68Ks are a little tough to get hold of.
It was probably something I did wrong - shame im not in Nth America as I'd send you mine to play with (it's a 2 week trip each way from Aus).

Both CPU sockets are a simple extension of each other so in theory you can put the CPU/IDE68K in any socket or piggybacked in one. I can't confirm it will work until someone tries it but like i said earlier i don't see any reason why they can't coexist.
Edit, the IDE68K would have to sit in the left hand socket as i didn't carry all signals over to the right hand socket, only the ones required for the fastmem portion
