Kipper: have you tried the three WHDLoad games I attached here which work on 4Mb memory config but don't on 8Mb memory config (and 5.5Mb and 1.5Mb one neither...).
I am getting a bit frustrated... :(

@Tom-Cat,
You can't expect kipper to put a guarantee on specific software working, if the Memory has passed the memory tests then there is likely not a fault with the board.
There are many documented threads on people having issues with WHDLoad on 68000 setups, now I'm no coder but I imagine it has something to do with how this extra memory is mapped on a 68000 setup that makes WHDLoad fall down.
The best experience for WHDLoad is with an A1200 + 030/16mb+
Whilst I have played many Games on my A600 with 8mb Ram there were also some that didn't work, I haven't made thorough investigations but reading all the threads in the past of other people issues it seems there is a trend here.
You might have more luck with an ACA620 for your Games, I'm sure if you're not 100% happy with your adapter, even if it's not faulty Kipper is a reasonable guy, I'm sure he'd accept a return.
If you don't want the outlay if return shipping costs I'm sure you can easily re-sell it here and get your money back :)
Hi, have you tried it on another Amiga 600? If it works on that it may be a problem with your Amiga, if not then Im sure Kipper will sort this out. I bought a few things of him and he even gave me a refund when I paid in £ not in Dollars (I wouldn't have noticed if he didn't tell me as I did it on two separate orders!).
I don't think kippers around at this time, cos I pm'd him about my 68kide, as I bought a Xilinx Parallel JTAG Cable III, and don't know if I have to remove the ide adapter and the 68000 cpu first before I reprogram the chip (so it'll see real harddrives)..
Mike..
hi kipper2k ,
there is another A600 waiting for this amazing board ,
may you can send me a second 8 meg A600 unit ?
official version : declaring interest in a 8 meg A600 Board :)
will send pm
pm received and money sent , thx a lot
Hi kipper,
Your mail box is full so I write here.
I need an a500 8mb jumper configurable board and a cpu adapter.
Pls let me know the total ammount plus shipping to italy and your details to make the payment.
Tnks
I tested WHDLoad games with the A608 from NEOPC design with 5.5 and 8 MB. It works without problems.
Hi kipper,
I'd like to purchase one of your 8mb Fastmem boards for an A600. I'll attempt to PM you momentarily as I've seen people remark that your inbox is full.
Cheers!
EDIT: Payment sent. Thanks!
Tommorow I am getting a different A600 to test my faulty 8Mb board on... to make sure it is not my A600 that is acting up. It took some time to find one here in Slovenia :)
OK, I just tried the 8Mb expansion on my friends A600 ... it is acting exactly the same as on my A600, i.e. :
Jumper on 1.5 Mb - I get 0 Mb Fast ram reported
Jumper on 5.5 Mb - I get 4 Mb Fast ram reported, Guru with anything I load
Jumper on 4 Mb - I get 4 Mb Fast ram reported, stuff seems to work fine
Jumper on 8 Mb - I get 8 Mb Fast ram reported, same stuff that doesn't work on my A600 doesn't work here either
So it is defiently faulty expansion. I hope I can get a replacement board from kipper soon. PM is on the way.
I bought the expansion 8mb . Works perfectly . The board is very well made . Great seller.
Hi,
interested to a A600 8MB board. Sending PM.
Hi kipper2k 8meg board runs like a dream in my A500+ will it fit in a cdtv
Hi Kipper2K ,
A600 8MB board arrived today morning :)
thx a lot for another fantastic item ,
works great and looks perfect :D
Glad to hear :). The A600 is my favourite Amiga for basic gaming with WHDload

The autoconfig can be turned off for use on the CDTV and memory can be added manually (needs a different coding on the PLCC. I can provide a PLCC with the non autoconfig coding for those that want it
see this post for details. (Thanks to Stryker:)

Hello Kipper/fellow amibay members,
I received my A500 8MB ram board & cpu reloacation adapter last Thursday...YAY!!! (1st package kipper sent is presumed lost in post) :(
I had a crack at fitting it yesterday but didn't get any further than removing the CPU from my motherboard. That was a bit of a pain to start with as it had been in there for 23 years and didn't want to budge. With a flatblade screwdriver and a generous amount of WD-40 down each side of CPU pins it loosened up and lifted out quite easily. :)
So, I thought that this would be plug & play but it doesn't apear to be in my case. It would seem that with the cpu reloaction adapter in place (complete with the riser pins underneath that came with it) it would still not clear C307 and C816 on my motherboard (revision 6A) by a fair amount.
C307 is too tall, and C816 will not bend any further without actually damaging the capacitor (if I bent it it would pull the pins out from the capacitor a bit because there's not enough clearance from the motherboard). Please see attached photo's...
It looks like I may have to do some surgery on my motherboard. Has anyone else here came across this problem on a 6A? I have an ide68k to fit as well but I wanted the cpu adapter in place first because I want to keep the level of connections/disconnections to a minimum to preserve the sockets. Does anyone know for sure whether the adapter is needed with the ide68k (v402)? I suppose I could put the adapter ontop of the ide68k...but it's kind of defeating the object. Does anyone know for sure whether or not a v402 ide68k and a kipper ram expansion can co-exist without the need of the relocation adapter + still having the upper rf shielding in place? Cheers
Some boards will require a bit of surgery due to the caps being soldered on the board with no slack. Remove them carefully by applying heat to the pins underneath the motherboard and then wiggle it bit by bit till it is off.
You then have a couple of choices, replace the cap with a new one or use wires to extend the legs of the caps so it can lay down.
Using the IDE68K and the fastmem board together on the CPU socket will cause the height to interfere with the case closing so an adapter should be used to relocate the board(s) to the back of the case.
Edit: i am in the process of building a combined 4mb/8mb/IDE board for the A500 it will require 2 jumpers and i am at the mailing off the design stage of the process. Providing i didn't mess up then i will offer it for sale. I am moving next month so i may not have time to finalise this till at least the end of October... I am heading South where the winters are only -35 deg C :)
Couple quick noob questions, first would using a supra 28 with this cause any problems? Second I heard a supra 28 works better with fast ram is this considered fast or chip ram?
Here is a picture of the 4mb/8mb +IDE board design in the a500 (Rev 6). Just to give an idea of how it fits. the CF card header is on the right side of the board and the CF card would be inserted from right to left.. No problem in closing the case with this installed. The Rev 5 (May be) the only one that would need to be relocated to the back of the Amiga.
there is a 2 wire header on the top left of the board that would be used to connect to the 2 required signals from the motherboard.

Good news !
Will it fit in the A1000?
Everything is autoconfig/Autoboot ??
Hi,
same as older version, autoboot, autoconfig, will fit in a1000, not too sure on connectors required to obtain required signals in the A1000 for IDE. same as the CDTV, fastmem will work fine without autoboot... and manual or script to addmem.
I don't know anything on CDTV, would INT2 and OVR be available to get IDE working (I have no clue)
Read this thread for more info... http://www.students.tut.fi/~leinone3/ide/ide68k.html
For the ide in A1000, maybe this thread can help :

Hi,
I'll check it tomorrow for you. I still haven't sorted the pinouts its been shelved for a bit now. Are we talking about the 29F800s ? When did you send it so i can check my emails :).
For those people who want the non autoconfig code, if you don't have a programmer i can send you another preprogrammed chip so you have both types allowing you to swap between if you want to relocate/sell etc for a small fee ($3.50 sounds fair :)
Hi,
memory still available?
i need 1x A500 8mb (or 4 mb if 8mb is not available).
bye bye
Thanks for your reply. I'll get to it as soon as I get a chance.
BTW, great news about your new IDE board. Am I correct though in saying that it doesn't have a 40 PIN IDE header but it just has the CF slot? If it's just the CF slot I'll continue with what I have, but if it has a 40 PIN header as well then I might just wait until that's out.
Would the soldering on the IDE version be feasible for someone who ahs never soldered before?
.
I wouldn't attempt it without practice and a good soldering iron and tip. The pitch (gap between each pin is very small and is not easy to do. Below is a link of how i do it.

Yup, piece of pee.
Hi all,
i am moving from Churchill to Thunder Bay soon so i will be in and out for the next 4 weeks while i have lots of things to sort at work and here in my apartment so be patient if it takes a while to get back to people. I'll still be building things but will be a little distracted.
I have lots of new boards arriving Mon/Tues :)
declared interest for two A600 8MB boards ,
sent pm , received pm :) and sent money
thx a lot for every effort
Declare interest in one A600 8mb memory expansion.
Sent PM.
Hi kipper,
Do you have any of the 8mb A500 boards left? Interested in x1 only. I wish to use it in my CDTV. Has anyone had any luck in fitting one in successfully? Also are these autoconfig memory boards or must you use a s/w patch in WB's Sartup-Sequence. Cheers
Just to let you guys know that kipper sent me another 8mb a600 expansion and this time it works flawlessly... all modes work as they should... took some time, but in the end it is great. Left positive feedback.
Does anyone know how to contact kipper2k ? he doesn't answer to pm..
I believe he mentioned he was moving house so would be out of contact for a while. Please be patient, he WILL reply when he can!
EDIT: in fact he said it only a handful of posts back http://www.amibay.com/showpost.php?p...&postcount=688
Hi All,
Time for a quick rant, I ordered parts i needed for pretty well all my projects and they were sent to Fedex (Hong Kong) on about 26th Sept. After numerous calls trying to get info on why the package is still in Hong Kong i am now told that due to Holidays in China, Fedex will not be moving any packages out of Hong Kong until at least the 8th Oct (and there is also a backlog). My package is still stuck there and there aint a damn thing i can do about it.
So, unless i have already made arrangement with someone to mail an order, i am effectively unable to do any more until at least 19th Oct. An exception to this will be for those who have ordered GB1000 boards please pay shipping so i can offload them.
Interested in an Amiga 600 expansion pending some questions.
Hi All,
I've now moved back to Thunder Bay and my mts email account is now closed so please don't bother sending me anything there. I've switched over to Shaw so am in process of switching over acct and webpage etc. Don't panic if your email bounces, i'm still here
As soon as i get a chance (and the info) it will be back up. I have a lot of unpacking in next couple of days so bear with me as i won't be online too much until its sorted
I'll let everyone know when i have more info.
