arrived now, in test
Hi,
Do you have the Rev6.xx or greater motherboard? if so then i can mail it out tomorrow, if you have the Rev5.xx motherboard then you would need an adapter as well (which i won't have till prob Monday).
Let me know.
just to let everyone know, the Rev5.xx adapter will work in all Revs A500 and allow the IDE68K to be mounted as well and not interfere with the case closing. (not to be confused with the A1000 adapter).
As to functionality of the IDE68K with the mem card, i still don't have confirmation one way or the other.
Hi Kipper I have a CDTV with revision 2.2.1 motherboard. I would like to use IDE68k in the future to make it into a whdload machine.
I know you are waiting for people to confirm whether it works with a CDTV but I can also do this for you if you are still waiting.
tested on a2000, now test on cdtv
Hi, I would like to register an interest in 1 x A600 4mb board please if they are still available.
Thanks for all your efforts here!
on my cdtv 4 mega board don't go, i need info on jp1 or solution
the cdtv go, but red image "like bad cd inserted" and boot from floppy i read zero fastram, i tested with kick 1.3 plus extended rom 1.0, with 2.05 and extended 2.7, with 3.1 end extended 2.7, whit only kick, but nothing
i have other expansion from thomtull and don't go with autoaddram software (i suppose is dead)
i have other expansion from amigagti and go only at address 20000 on cdtv and on a2000
I'd like to buy one of these 4/8MB expansion boards, but I need to know if it fits/woks in a CDTV. Can someone confirm this please?
CDTV configuration: Extended CDTV ROMs v2.30, KickStart ROM 3.1.
i cannot test on my cdtv, i have a problem whit keyboard, i need verify if is broken the cdtv or the keyboard
The A500 Expansion doesn't fit the CDTV - its about 2mm out. Ive asked Kipper to send me some additional riser pins - this may (hopefully) sort it. The CDTV ROMS rise just to high and stop the expansion from pushing "home"
My 8mb board and a1000 adapter arrived today. Installed it and works like a charm.
Thanks Kipper!
Once you use the "riser" pins/strips it looks like it might be too high to close the case, I could be wrong, my cdtv is half disassembled so hard to say 100%
the A1000 adapter received and soldered works perfectly
I Received my 2x A600 4mb Boards today, wasn't expecting them for abother 10 days or so! :-)
Kipper - Can I order 2 Angled Internal CF Adaptors For my A600 from you? If you could send me a PM with where to pay etc that'd be great :-)
Many Thanks,
Robert.
Still hoping for external CF adapter ;)
Maybe you can send me an email next week also
Oh sure, now you will have us refresh the pages non-stop ..
And I have to test cards in my mediator board :(
Really appreciate all the great work you do in making goodies available for us
K, here is another little board. I built this as i didn't wantt to have too many different fastmem boards floating around. The only fastmem board i am making now is the rev6 board, which up till now would only fit in Rev6 boards and greater. Another problem was the CPU sitting too high which would interfere with the keyboard and case closure. and also interfering with the IDE68k installation.
Here is a pic of the rev 6 fastmem board attached to the IDE68k board sitting in the adapter. it all sits further back in the case and doesn't interfere with keyboard and case closure.
For those people who have already requested interest to me for a Rev5 board i will sell the adapter board to them for $5.00 and of course you will receive the Rev6 board at its regular price For all new orders, the price of the A500 adapter will be $9.50
If you require the A500 Fastmem board for any version A500 then i recommend that you buy the a500 adapter also as the fastmem board as it allows the CPU (and ide68k board ) to sit in a better location.
The adapter boards should be ready to go towards end of next week once i get back to Churchill.

Hi Kipper, nice work!
Do I have a Rev6 & adapter in the mail?
Looks great kipper :)
I'm still waiting for someone to test compatibility with IDE68k before I'll pull the trigger
Ok, I wanted one A500 rev 5 8 mb (#160 on this thread) but I will take an A500 rev. 6 8 mb and two (2) A500 adaptors and one (1) A1000 riser instead.
Do you have available a PSX adaptor?
Thanks!
Payment and PM sent for one A600 4mb shipping to Japan :)
Boards arrived this morning at my folks house, so I'll head over this afternoon to pick them up. How excited am I?!
@kipper2k
any board is arrived for now... I'm seriously worried that it has lost :-(
can you tell me any feedback for shipping time from Italy?
A1000 adapter received, feedback left:)
Hi, Kipper2k, should an otherwise unmodified, ks1.3 A500 boot to the usual disk in hand screen?
hi kipper2K
When I place the 8 MB in the A1000
then the expansion port wil not work.
the golumbox 2mb and A2091 hdd wont work.
the 8 mb memory is also not been seen.
all the component lousen is working.
?
greatings
peter
@oldman
Sounds like you are going over the 8MB 16-bit memory limit. You can't add more than 8 MB
Yes, the RAM will should even show up in WB 1.2.

You need to remove the "golumbox 2mb" as the 68k cant address more than 8mb fast ram in total.

I use the A2091 without memory
@Keeper2k:
I took the packet today. Tried both A500 mem boards on my amiga 500.
My findings are:
1) You must put the memory board very gently and carefully because pins are very delicate and can bend or break easily. It's very good that keeper2k uses separately pin rows, so if something goes wrong, you can just change these (they are very cheap too)! ;)
2) The c20 smd capacitor on the bottom of the board, gets on rom chip, and so you can not completely align it horizontally, it has a little tilt of ~1mm.Maybe you can change the design a little, for this not to happen.
3) When i first put it, i got several software failures and crashes, but after a few strong pushes :) , i could finally boot workbench and saw that i have a 5mb ram amiga 500!
4) I've tested 7-8 games so far, no problems with extra ram found.
5)I've noticed that sometimes if you "soft reset" amiga and try to load another game, crashes occurs. Powering off amiga and wait for a few seconds, resolved this problem (maybe some data remained from previous game on fast ram, which did not "clear" with soft reset)
Unfortunately only one of the 2 A500 borads worked. The second one didn't boot at all. I noticed that C9 smd capacitor (on the back of the board, just beside of the 68000 row pin) is broke or missing. I assume this is the problem, so i must ask you what's the capacity of C9 to solder it?
Hi kipper,
I need an A500 version with 4 mb and an A1000 adapter board for it!
Cheers
Unfortunately i'm having problems with the "good" A500 memory too.
After working some time in workbench (open folders, amiga shell, some program etc) ,or every time i'm trying to use the ram by coping files to ram drive or mounting a rad and trying to diskcopy a disk in it, i get a "software error" window message, "retry" doesn't work no matter how many times i click it, and when i click "cancel", system freezes and then reboots with a guru meditation of software failure... :(
[UPDATE]
After some "research",i found out that the problem is caused by trapdoor ram! At least this happens with both A502+ i have.I even tried to change mapping of the 512k ram because i have a switch installed to change the extra trapdoor ram to be "slow" fast ram or chip ram but unfortunately didn't work either way...Also A502 have a battery+realtime clock onboard. Of course after so many years batteries are removed ,and i was wondering if this is causing the problem. I will put a new battery in one of A502 and see if i have the same problems.
Anyway, it appears that kipper2k's fast ram doesn't "like" cooperation with my trapdoor ram (at least without battery...). :-)
When i removed A502, system works great, no "software error" occurs,i even managed to mount a rad drive with workbench 1.3 disk! First time i experienced such speed in workbench! :-)
So now my only problem is the other A500 ram board which doesn't boot at all....
I did try my trapdoor ram in an A500 and didn't experience problems, i think it was an A501, have to check.
I'm back in Churchill so i will start playing catchup over the weekend, i do have some recent private email to reply to, i'll start replying tomorrow once i figure out what parts i have etc.
Thanks to all.

the pins are 0.100" pitch and diameter is 0.055"
@keeper2k:
I finally found the source of the problem: as soon as i removed rtc chip from A502+ board, everything worked perfect! I suppose it's the absence of the battery that caused the problem, next week i may buy a new one and try A502 with rtc chip, but anyway rtc is rather useless for the use i have my A500 for! ;)
Now, the problem is with the 2nd A500 memory board. It doesn't boot at all. I noticed that C9 smd capacitor (on the back of the board, just beside of the 68000 row pin) is broke or missing.(check photo: http://www.amibay.com/attachment.php...4&d=1348052713 )
If you think this is the prob, can you tell me what's the capacity of C9 is, and if i can solder it?
Hi,
C9 won't affect the A500 from booting unless the pads were shorted out. It is just used to stabilize the 5v logic signal which in theory should be fine seeing as i have added quite a few caps to level off the signal so missing one (or even 2) of these should not affect the stability of the board.
When you say it doesn't boot, do you see anything at all. One thing to try is to remove the Atmel chip from the good board and place it into the bad board and see if the bad board now boots ok... Make sure you put it in the socket the right way around or you will damage the chip...
Let me know what happens.
I've already did what you propose. Both Atmel work fine on the other A500 memboard, but neither seem to work with the one that doesn't boot. And when i say "doesn't boot" i mean like.... NOTHING! I Power on amiga and it gives me immediately a blank black screen (not grey, just black, like no video signal at all) and... that's all! No beeps, no flash of caps lock led, no disk drive noise, no colours or flashing on screen,no... nothing! It's like mem board causes amiga to shutdown before even starts!
I've tried twice both atmel and be very careful with the placement on the 68000 base, but amiga refuse to start with this mem board... :(
