Hello!
Wow! Very loooong thread!
Interested in 1x A600 4MB RAM expansion if still available.
need an information please; can i add a manual switch (if yes where in the board?) as usual we can see in other expansion? i know is possible to use a degrader, but i prefer a manual switch. thanks very much to answer:)
1 x A600 board please
Keeper2k, any suggestions for my problem?
Got my a600 card a week ago, but I have been busy with work. Tried the card today and it works perfect:)
Payment done for an A600 4MB expansion.
Confirmation received! :-)
Both boards working perfectly - feedback given.
Great job kipper2k!
Hey kipper2k. Do you have more of the a600 4mb boards? Will grab one from you. Have pm you.
Thanks!!
After many hours of using memboard with amiga 500, i found out a small potential problem: OVERHEATING of cpu! Especially if you are in a warm climate (i doubt you will have this problem in canada anyway... :) )
In the last 3-4 days we had a rather large increase of ambient temps here in Greece, and on the same time,i've noticed that after about an hour amiga stops responding.
This ofcourse is a typical symptom for overheating, and probably is caused by the raising of the cpu (which is on the memboard), as there is almost no space from the shielding above and so there is very little air to cool the cpu.
I solved this problem by cutting an orthgonal hole in the shielding just above the cpu, and also add a small aluminum heatsink on top of the 68000 (in fact it was a cutted cooller from an old pentium!:) ).
So maybe the extra board which places the memboard far from keyboard is useful not only for giving space to add idee68k but it will help to keep cpu cool enough, at least when used in amiga 500! ;)
Yeah this happened to me with Tomthuls 8mb board + mika's ide68k I bought a stack of self adhesive ram sinks and problem solved! :)
Hey guys. Am I doing something wrong? I want order one of these cards but don't seem to get a response to my requests.
hi mamejay
kipper2k may be busy have you sent him a pm
Yeah sent him a couple. I know I am probably being impatient. Just want to get my 600 nice a fat with some RAM!
Kipper's prolly just run off his feet with orders for ram and adapter boards - im waiting on some more of his products myself.
Awesome stuff!! Thanks Kipper
Edit:
Payment made!!
Sounds like a very interesting project. I will see how it all pans out and if it's worth upgrading from Tom's 8MB board.
I completely missed this thread, especially as I've not been on here much recently.
Are these still available?
Also, can anybody confirm if the A500 adapter will fit an A1000 without having to 'modify' anything?
I didn't have the funds for this when originally posted :(
If these are still available I would love a A500-8mb...
Am I to late or are there still available units left? Or will there be made more in the future?
Cheers
Hey Kipper, any news on when your IDE to CF Internal adaptors will be available again? Would like to buy two :)
Robert.
My 2x A600 4MB boards are fantastic. Thanks very much indeed! Feedback left!
Can I order two more? I've given one to a friend as before they were using PCMCIA ram which isn't always compatible with some games, and I think utility.library and graphics.library end up stuck in Chip ram (with PCMCIA ram), but with your board both of those libraries are in Fast ram, so performance is enhanced. :D
Hi,
They will be available mid week, iWhat version motherboard do you have, Version 5 and lower requires a CPU adapter as well ($9.50). Rev6 and higher just requires the fastmem board.
As a side note, using the A500 CPU adapter will relocate the Fastmem board to a more central part of the motherboard. and will work with all motherboards. Depending on the motherboard revision a couple of capacitors may need to be bent over and maybe one trace cut and a wire bridged once bent. I'll post another pic in a bit

Hi,
You would need the a1000 CPU adapter and the fastmem board itself (either 4mb or 8mb). I will have them ready on thursday
*Updated further down thread
Board arrived today, don`t have my A600 yet in Japan to test it but it looks like some solid work. Many thanks! Feedback left :)
Hi kipper, my A600 board arrived today.
I can't test it because my Amiga is 350km far away from me but i'll leave a positive feedback as soon as i'll send this message.
Thanks for all. :)
Hi Kipper2k,
This sounds very interesting and I would love to upgrade my A500 (and maybe 600 too). Just a few questions first, relating to my A500:
Will the 4mb or 8mb upgrade work with a rom switcher or with a dual rom kickstart?
Will the 4mb or 8mb upgrade cause any problem with games compatibility?
Is it possible to have a switch that disable the memory (like I currently use on my trapdoor 512k expansion for some games)?
Can this run on any kickstart version (most importantly 1.2, 1.3, 2.04, 3.1)?
Any problems running HXC Floppy emulator with the extra ram?
My A500 is an 6A motherboard revision.
If Kipper or anyone else can help me here that would be great. I am looking to have the most compatible solution for gaming ON A 500 while gaining speed and ease of use.

Will the 4mb or 8mb upgrade cause any problem with games compatibility? ----- earlier games, probably, but not too many, later games not so much
Is it possible to have a switch that disable the memory (like I currently use on my trapdoor 512k expansion for some games)? --------- i think so, i haven't had a chance to play... funny thing is, i have boards that i have made that simply refuse to be recognised so a good bit of troubleshooting may lead to the answer.
Can this run on any kickstart version (most importantly 1.2, 1.3, 2.04, 3.1)? Yes to all.
Any problems running HXC Floppy emulator with the extra ram?... unknown, probably not....
@thread...
I am out of service as such for 3 weeks as i am required for jury duty so if you want something, let me kow before end of Saturday Oct 6th and i'll try to get it done before i am gone for a while.
Thanks to all for your support

Ahem...
Received an unit today. Funny thing is the unit wasn't supposed to be delivered to me.
No problem, I have here the board where it will be installed into (capacitor maintenance). The real buyer (my friend) will received everything tested. :)
Win-win situation.
Feedback in route.
Hi Kipper,
Any chance for me to order an 8mb+A1000 cpu adaptor?
Thanks!
Payment made for an 8MB A500 Rev 6 board and CPU adapter.
Cheers,

Hey Kipper, any news on the internal IDE to CF Adaptor boards?
Thanks in advance :)
Hi chaps
Has anyone managed to install this into a CDTV? I tried when I first got it but the odd even chips were too high and got in the way so I bought a riser board and was able to fit it although the lid does slightly touch the 68000 chip. However all I get is a black screen (even with the lid off) ?
Do the traces need to be cut on the CDTV board in the same way as HIKEYS memory card to enable autoconfig? ( I have also ordered one of these from HIKEY just in case).
I would be grateful for anyone who has installed this in their CDTV to contact me so that I can install this. (Im trying to make my CDTV into a WHDLOAD machine so have everything but the IDE solution).
I plan to take pics of the install so it may help people looking to upgrade their CDTV's.
I did try it, but it couldn't autoconfig, even with the traces cut, I think more needs to be done to get ram or accelerator cards working in the CDTV, the 8MB card did work once I used AutoAddRAM.
The 4MB card from Hikey still doesn't work in my CDTV.
But as said. I think more needs to be done, but I already have the 2.30 bootroms in their and kickstart 2.04.
I'm also out of ideas on how to get anything working.
Thanks for replying, I appreciate it. Im waiting for my hikey 4mb card so will try it when I get it (hopefully I have more luck than you as some people have had success!).
I have the 2.30 boot roms but currently with ks 1.3 until I get my ROM switcher (in the post).
I have a 2.2.1 cdtv revision motherboard, out of interest, what is yours?

Are these still available? Declaring interest in 1x A500 8mb, and 1x A600 4mb. Sending PM now!
Hi Everyone,
Just to let everyone know that i have mailed everyones order who has paid with the exception of 2 people, 1 who already knows i am waiting for more heat shrink tubing and another that paid today (Erkan) which is too late for me to process.
I asked my daughter to mail them all for me, and she wasn't too happy when she spent an hour with a trainee postal clerk in the post office :)
Thanks to all
Great news, thanks Kipper. :)
