Received my 4MB A600 card today. Works perfectly. Didn't realise that it would not fit with my rom switcher installed.

Using a switch I mounted on the back of my Amiga.
I have another unit that changes Roms, using the real ones, via the keyboard reset method using 2 wires to Gary. It also uses a ribbon cable to move the Roms away from the rom socket. I'm pretty sure there are still some NOS versions of these on eBay ATM (make sure you get the version that includes the wires).
I ordered a 4Mb A600 Ram Expansion and the 8Mb A500 RAM for my CDTV.
The 4Mb RAM for A600 is an easy install and worked flawlessly.
The 8Mb RAM in terms of CDTV compatibility is a big issue.
(1). It physically will NOT fit without a further pin extension as other CDTV chips stop the expansions pins fitting in.
(2) It doesn't actually work!! Having got the extra riser pins, I can boot the CDTV off floppy if I use J15 but any extra RAM is not seen. This happens with KS1.3 and 2.05 (I have the 2.30 CDTV ROMS). In CDTV mode I cannot boot off CD but CAN make the CDTV startup.
Ive no idea what's wrong, but it appears that autoconfig doesn't work for it - maybe it's something else. But either way, if you're after expanding your CDTV, this isn't the solution for now.
@Kipper2k - Looks like I'll have to take you up on your offer off sending back etc. I'll PM you.

Interested in a 500 8mb card when available
Interested in A600 4mb when available.
Hello there!
I already have a pcmcia 2Mb Sram card on my A600. Is this card compatible with it?
Does it fit on my A600 considering that I already have a 2.5" hard drive on it?
Thanks, bye!
Liviux76
Yes it works fine with SRAM and will give you a total 6mb Fast Ram (same as I'm using)
You will need to remove the HDD cradle to fit the Ram expansion so you should either switch to CF (if so grab one of Kippers Cf adapters) or you will need to install the HDD vertical and find another way to secure in place (I suggest Velcro strips)
All the best!
Steve.
Hello kipper2k, A500 Board with 8MB and A500 Adapterboard still available? :)

Hi all,
Just to confirm... The 4mb and 8mb fastmem board has been confirmed to work with the IDE68k on an A500
(Zyga64 tested it... thanks . If you use the A500 CPU adapter board there will be lots of space
Hey kipper2k,
Just a question on the installation. I find that the a600 memory board pops off easily. What ways can I fix it to the motherboard better so this does not happen?
I have put a blob of hot glue in the centre if the board and that seems to work but wondering how you would do it.
Thanks!!
Hi kipper2k,
I am still waiting for my IndiAGA II to HDMI Adapter... :coffee:
Cheers
Hi,
Interested in an A500 Board with 8 MB and A500 Adapterboard if available.
hi, any news?
has anybody succesfully fitted one of these in a A2000?
Hi Kipper,
My 8MB A500 module with CPU riser arrived. I get a black screen when trying to use the board with the CPU riser, but without the riser it works fine.
I also noticed my A590 is not detected when the 8MB board is plugged in at the same time.
I have 2MB installed in the A590 and tried with the jumper set to 2MB and "no memory".
Any ideas?
Cheers,
ck
@ck16
Firstly, check the riser. If one of the holes is a bit too wide, there might be a pin not making contact with the riser and nothing happens when you turn on the Amiga.
It happened to me once.
Hi,
I do not have an A590 so i cannot say what the issue is, it is possible that there is a memory conflict. The 8mb fastram board uses memory at locations $200000 - $9fffff, remove the fastmem board and do a memcheck, see what memory location the A590 uses. if it uses any range between $200000 - $9fffff then there is a memory conflict and the only option would be to either remove one or the other, or possibly use a 4mb board which would use uncontested area of ram

Hi Kipper, just making sure you read my post. I need one a500 adapter.
Thank you.
Hi kipper, i did not get your message!
I get your message that you will message me when you've finished the new boards. Not sure if you mean this? :)
Thomas
Hi kipper, I received feedback from you but not sure if that was from the first 8mb board or the second with a500 adaptor?
Cheers Derek
Payment sent :)
Payment sent for an a500 adapter
Thanks!
Howdy!
I did a quick check on my A500 running the A590 with 2MB RAM and found the following:
$00E90000 (Size 64K) - A2091/A590
$00200000 (Size 2048K) - FAST MEMORY
I removed the RAM from the A590 and set the jumper to 0MB and it still didn't work. I don't think a 4MB RAM upgrade would work.
Maybe the A500 PSU can't handle the power drain?
I'm still having no luck with the CPU riser card. I just get a black screen. :(
Cheers,
Chris
@ck16
I tested my Kipper 8mb Ram upgrade with GVP530 and Ram disabled but it wouldn't boot (black screen)
So I guess some/many Side Car Ram/HDD expansions are not compatible at all?
@Therad resoldering pins 1-3 on my Kipper 1000 adapter has fixed it, now my A1000 has 8mb Ram and I can still use the FDD :)
Thanks for redoing the soldering Steve, For some reason the solder silkscreen messed up and those 3 pins on the board were a little arkward to get a good bead of solder on them.
Thread should be all caught up, and everyone should have a pm to acknowledge interest.
No worries, any practice I can get soldering helps :)
They were quite hard to solder, even with lots of flux and good quality silver core solder it just didn't want to stick!
Thanks for producing these items, I can't wait for some kind of IDE
(built in K508+IDE FTW!) I'd buy one tomorrow
Steve.
I'd like an A500 8mb memory board if still available. PM sent.
