Amiga 1000 (PAL, 512KB RAM) + A1010
Hi everyone,
Up for sale is a somewhat yellowed but nicely working A1000. I bought it from the original owners a couple of years ago (it was their first computer, not a bad start I'd say), but I haven't used it all that much. I originally bought it as a spare unit in case my other A1000 would fail, due to my dodgy soldering skills, but that one is still going strong. :-D
It seems that it was originally bought at a computer store in Amsterdam, as they've put little labels with the store contact details on the back of the monitor, keyboard and on the top of the A1000, but I don't think you can contact them any longer. :) I forgot to make pictures of those labels, but they're really unobtrusive and out of sight when you're using the computer, so I guess they shouldn't bother anyone.
As you can see, it's a complete and unmodified PAL A1000 system with the original memory expansion in the front slot, which means it has 512KB of RAM available. It also comes with the original mouse (with angled connector) and the A1000 keyboard. It even has the infamous side expansion slot cover still attached, which seems to mysteriously disappear on many A1000s. In order to make life more comfortable when running Workbench (or not, depending on whether you can stand the loud click it makes when you haven't inserted a disk :p), I'm also including a working Amiga 1010 external disk drive.
Please note that the Amiga 1081 PAL monitor is optionally included for €25 + additional shipping costs! I've decided to include it optionally due to the weight and the probably hefty increase in shipping costs. Therefore, unless you're either located in the Netherlands or really want an Amiga 1081, I'd absolutely recommend you to find a PAL monitor with a SCART connector locally. By the way, due to the screen refresh rate the photos look weird, but in reality the monitor provides a good picture.
Also note that the parallel port didn't survive their attic unscathed, as can be seen in the picture. There's a little dent in the outer shell of the connector and some pins are very slightly bent. I think you can fairly easily fix this by carefully bending it back, but I haven't tried it.
I'm looking for €125 + shipping costs (with PayPal fees paid by you) for the Amiga 1000 with RAM expansion, keyboard, mouse, and A1010 disk drive. If you also want the Amiga 1081 monitor, it will be €150 + (higher) shipping costs. For an indication of the shipping costs to your destination, please check http://www.postnl.nl/voorthuis/brief...ven/Pakketten/ (unfortunately they don't seem to have an English site). Without the monitor it will probably weigh 10kg, with the monitor it will be 20kg.
Feel free to ask questions or request additional pictures. :)
