Picopsu. Which black wire goes where?

Long story short.

It used to be like this:

Then I had to take the picopsu wires off as I was removing the motherboard for kipper2k indi ecs vga adapter installation.

Right after removing wires I still knew where everything was supposed to be reconnected. Critically, I did not mark the black wires. So I know where the red goes and I know where the yellow goes... but with black wires? Sigh... :double

Which is the correct wiring? 1 to A and 2 to B or 1 to B and 2 to A?

hi the second choice looks right

1 to b - 2 to a

but wait for others

if you have a multimeter do a continuity test to find which of the 2 points is ground , it's pretty easy

Well I do have a cheapo multimeter but lost the test leads for it and I was never getting consistent results with it anyways. I think we can forget that one :oops:

Incidentally seems like there is a possibility of connecting the indivision ecs vga adapter such that it is too much in front of the motherboard and I can then not put the bottom metal shield back on and I cant even fit the motherboard properly to the bottom case.

Time to go to sleep. This will be much easier when not so tired.

RED : +12V (should "correctly" be YELLOW)
BLACK #2: -12V (to point A) (should "correctly" be BLUE)
YELLOW: +5V (should "correctly" be RED)
BLACK #1: GND (0V - to point B) (should "correctly" be, well, BLACK)

I don't think we want to shoot Mendel :p (btw the +5V and +12V wires are colour-reversed too).
But as having "correctly" (against e.g. a PC PSU) coloured ones would indeed have helped in this case as a reminder, I've updated my post to include the "correct" colour for each line.

some times one uses what he finds available at the time , nothing wrong with that... :p
as far as I can see a 4-pin molex cable was sacrifised for the needs of cabling :)

Good news, everyone. The machine is put back together with indivision ecs vga adapter installed and all the cables put back togeter to the picopsu and it powers on just fine! :thumbsup:

It is a real "female dog" taking off that bottom metal shield and putting it back on, the nuts and bolts that attach the vga adapter need to be cut just right.

Now, where did I put that floppy drive again
