I want a CF to 2.5" IDE adapter to use it with my A1200, to replace the hard disk.
Also it would be great if you have a spare 16GB or 32GB compatible CF card for Amiga (SanDisk maybe?).

Hey Phantom,
The cheapest ones are from Hong Kong, they usually take a couple of weeks to arrive but work perfectly.
Heres a couple of links from the other bay (Buy it Now of course)
This one plugs directly onto the 1200 motherboard
This one requires a 2.5" ide cable and allows you to position the CF anywhere
Hope they help my friend.
Mike
Thanks for the links Mike, but I want to avoid Hong Kong. Don't ask me why. :D
I've got a spare brand new CF-IDE adapter around. I haven't got any compact flash cards as big as you want though, only 4GB.
Can you check if the IDE is a 3.5" or 2.5" (any photo)?
:thanks:
@Phantom: those bigger than 8Gb CF cards are insanely expensive, be warned!
If you don't mind slow writing accesses and the same reading speed as a regular HD but with all the advantages of the CF (low consumption, silence, small footprint), grab a SD to IDE adaptor and the SD card you can afford!
Your wallet will thank you.
I also have to ask. What would you actually do with all that space? My A1200 has a 1.4GB disk in it (salvaged from an old PC laptop) -- I loaded the entire Soundtracker sample library on there, and I'm still only at 10% usage! :)Quote:

To say the true, I have an over 1Gb partition dedicated to .mod files and over 4Gb just for games on my A1200, pretty much the same as mine A2000 (18Gb + 9Gb SCSI disks).
The 1200 with its 43Gb HD don't have half of the content occupied! This with "cross partition backups": I'm a bit paranoid on Amiga partitions...
My A600 have a "humble" 2Gb HD and the 500 a mere 1Gb(!). All those HD units with less than half the space occupied. Ah! The delights of tiny archives that just the Amiga brings to you! :inlove:
No reason to avoid Hong Kong, except maybe for cheesy consumer electronics crap, like LCDs or mobile accessories. This is not such an item. This is pure electronics components, and the Hong Kong guys are the best at that! Not to mention they ship quicker and cheaper than many US/UK/EU dealers.
I've bought two of the $1.90 kind, and they work just fine. If you want to unscrew and open your Amiga every time you want to install something or copy a file to the harddisk, get the other one.
