Alas, no sign of this item yet :-(
The tracking info that Gavilan provided me has shown that the item has left Argentina, but Parcelforce don't recognise the tracking number for any item in the UK.
I have every confidence in Gavilan, so I'm confident everything is above-board, but I wouldn't mind some advice on trying to track down my parcel. It left Argentina on the 23rd December, so maybe I just need to be more patient. Any advice, guys? :-)
Having sent slightly larger parcels the other way to Gavilan, it does sometimes take a while to ship to and from Argentina. If customs have taken an interest, that may also add a week or two to your delivery times. Also, factoring in the Christmas period, you may have a bit of a wait.
If there is a problem, however, usually any Postal service will offer a basic compensation scheme on proof of postage, an investigation and a couple of letters confirming the package is indeed lost.
Sebastian may be able to claim the value of the lost item back from his Postal Service, and offer you a refund in that unfortunate event.
Obviously, that is down to you both to arrange.

I think the best thing is probably to sit tight for a couple of weeks before making any in-roads into resolving the matter. :-)
Ive had two parcels from Gavilan before and one took around 2 weeks to arrive and the other took 6 weeks (customs had for 3 weeks). As r0aws says though with Christmas you may be waiting a little while longer yet.
Ouch!! Didnt know it took so long Mike!!!! 6 weeks!!! 3 weeks on hold by customs??? :o And i always send packages "Express mode", which, being more expensive than "Regular mode", it is "faster" according to Correo Argentino. :thumbsdown:Quote:

Your package was sent the same day i sent stuff to P G in (Norway) and to Vim Fuego (Australia).
P G told me that he received the package today.
Vim Fuego told me that he received the package last week.
My only guess is that items sent, for example, to Australia, took less than items sent to other places...
Im very very sorry and i really hope the package arrives soon to your hands, as it has already been out of Argentina for quite some time.
Of course i can make a full claim at local Post office, but, they do a research, then they ask me for a proof, etc etc etc. The claim can take up to 1 month, and maybe more. Its a real pain in the ****. I would use that as last resort.
But hey, i bought November Retro Gamer magazine. Its been almost 1 month and a half and i still didint receive yet.
And, i was expecting a small package with Amiga chips from Germany. It took 50 days to arrive...so i guess Post Offices are little nuts on this time of the year?

PD: @Andy, i sent the card to the University of Southampton address you gave me. I can think of 2 things happening here: maybe the package arrived and its in the hands of someone at the University? Or, maybe the Argentinian Post Office didnt "understand" the address with just to many numbers and codes and names (too much for them, little "complicated address" ;) and its "stuck"? Just pure speculation here... Maybe tomorrow the card and all other bonus items are with you, and im thinking all the time about what could have been wrong? Nevermind, time to go home, take an icecream and go to bed :))
Anyway, i just beg you to be a little more patient my friend. Just checked argentinian site to see if some news could help...it shows that i sent package on december 19...i didnt know it would take 3/4 days until they leave the country!! So, if we discount the Christmas time, New Year time, then its already arriving in anytime to you (considereing what Mike said about the 2 week delay...and that if custom officers dont put an eye on the small packet.... Again, just pure speculation...nothnig to get worried i hope ;)
