Toaster Oven 4000 Tower Kit

Hi Everyone!

I'm selling an Ambitious Technologies Toaster Oven 4000 tower kit. This kit was designed with the Video Toaster in mind. It's a HUGE full height tower with a 300 Watt AT PSU that is designed to use the internal components of an Amiga 4000D.

As you can see from the pictures, the plastic has yellowing, but the system is very sturdy.

The entire section where you mount the A4000D Motherboard is removable from the case and could possibly be used in another tower. I would be willing to ship just this part of the case and the necessary parts for anyone who thinks they could mount it in another case and wants to save on shipping the whole case. However, the price is the same for the whole tower or just parts of it. :thumbsup:

The ISA slots provided simply provide power for ISA cards, they do not connect to the Amiga in any way. The 90 degree Amiga Daughterboard connectors allow you to mount the daughterboard above the ISA slots. Also included are the controller port extension cables, the AT PSU to Amiga adapter, and the daughterboard spacers (not pictured).

I don't have an AT PSU tester, but I do have a tester to test all the separate floppy and hard drive power connections. I'll test all of them tonight to verify they are working.

Due to the huge size of this, I don't think International shipping will be possible. I'll get a general weight of the box tonight.

You said open to trade ideas. I have an A3000D recently recapped in full working order (pics available) if you are interested. I also have an RBM Towerhawk 4000 (my current toaster machine) with internal zorro busboard. I just think what you have more accurately meets my needs - specifically with regards to ISA - so that's why I'm offering this. Obviously not a direct trade for the A3000D but for the Towerhawk, that would work for me. Let me know what you think.

PS - I'm leaving town soon and will be gone for a month or two (or three) so need to be quick about setting this up if we come to an agreement! Cheers :)

I finished attempting to test the PSU. Unfortunately, it's dead. :( There's a small bit of good news though. I opened the PSU and the switch and all the connections to the PSU's board test OK. The problem is somewhere on the PSU board itself. The rest of the good news is that it will be easy to mount the guts of a newer, higher wattage PSU inside the old PSU shell.

I think for now I will withdraw interest, since I am going out of town soon and neither one of us wants to pay to ship a heavy item :) However, when I get home in approximately 1 month, if this has not sold, I will likely be interested again. Thanks!

I'm interested in knowing the actual dimensions of the case: the pictures are a bit confusing. In some it looks the size of a fridge. Pending that, I may be interested.

we have 2 of these in the collection
and a standrad ATX psu fit perfect
the best way to replace PSU are to buy a cheap ATX PSU or a A4000 psu
( better for you to replace with 450 - 600 w )

I'll take a tape measure to it tonight then give you this box's dimensions. Looking at the size of the standard hard drive power connection in one of the pictures will give a good reference of the size. It's definitely a monster!
