Is that a new thing? It interests me, but might be a bit to technical, the manual gives the pionouts, no hook up cable.

This device is intended to be a cheaper alternative to the 1541-III or Ultimate 1541 devices, as a solid-state version of the Commodore 1541 disk drive.
The idea is you provide an internal cable from the pin header and solder the wires internally on the C64 and mount the device such that the SD card can be accessed without opening the case (much like a CF drive or CD-ROM drive on an Amiga 1200).
all I can say is: STAY AWAY from this and get Jen's MMC64 . tested with a good friend, it has many probs / incompatibilities and was quickly thrown away. On the other hand the MMC64 was a breeze.
There's also uIEC that uses the exact same firmware, but comes with an IEC connector. However, all of those solutions (including 1541-III, MMC64, MMC Replay, IDE64, etc) are incompatible with fastloaders and copy protected apps. You're only able to run a small portion of games that load as a single file. So far the 1541 Ultimate is the only device that has full 1541 compatibility, but the Chameleon is in development.
I'm really into the 8-Bit C= stuff and I think the uIEC that MagerValp mentioned is the best, inexpensive solution. If you want a more expensive, totally compatible solution, the 1541 Ultimate can't be beat. I have both the uIEC and 1541U and they both work great!
In addition, the uIEC will do everything that the sd2iec board will do and you don't have to do any assembly. Just plug it in and go. Both the sd2iec and uIEC are command driven so using a fast load cartridge for the Dos Shell is very desirable. The uIEC is compatible with JiffyDOS as well. :)
You can order the uIEC from Jim Brain at his Web Store. There's also a program you can drop into the root of your SD card (SDBrowse or SD2Browse) that you can load on your C64 that lets you browse the files on your card, somewhat like the 1541U.
As MagerVelp mentioned, fast loaders don't work on the uIEC/sd2iec devices, but you can get patches to remove the fast loaders from lots of games.
Good luck and let me know if you need any more information!

Merlin, Magerval, Keropi, Txs, was thinking in bying it next month, but thought hey first hear a little around if it works etc experiences..
So the only mentioned solutions are a 100 dollar one, and one who is not available yet.
I am not sure what is meant with fastloaders, software ones, hardware ones? Have a hardware one, but it is switch on/of)
mm I wanted a full working solution, one with an interface I do not wan't to type in all the commands with all of them
Next project will first be to attemp to have one running again! (again one of those old types just broke down in 4 weeks:mad:)

ok skyndivingirl, you have good experience with a 55 dollar one.
So you are transferring you're disks? It gives no problems?
Strange that I missed all those other solutions, only knew the mmc64.
Will have to check if take one from USA how to get it here, over 20 EU is not tax free.
@jvdbossc
The only two solutions I know of that are fully menu driven are the MMC64/MMC Replay and the 1541U. All the sd2iec/uIEC type devices are command driven, but you can use the SDBrowse program to easily navigate through the card.
You can copy disks between the uIEC and a real floppy drive. There's a uIEC Yahoo! group where I sent the following information on how to copy to a floppy disk from a D64 image. You can just reverse the source and destination drives to copy from a floppy disk to a D64. :) Having JiffyDOS will increase the copying speed dramatically.
Good luck!

Do you know if it works with a c128 in C64 mode? I really do not wan't another one gone buy just using it.
I have a c128 to wich is used used and yes used  To be honest never used it outside c64 mode. Would be nice to use that one, since I know it seams to hold on, it has also has a build in extension.
Also have a white (good working version) of C64. And yes many brown boxes, with NONE of them working. I could make a guess and start swapping chips..(it appears that those ones, had a long period of using, sell, resell, resell etc..)
Did get tempted today:
