NOS AlfaPower Plus 8.3 ROMs

While I was testing my AlfaPower expansions I have stumbled uppon this cache of NOS ROM chips.

These will allow to use and partition larger than 2GB HDDs/CF cards, using the HDInst tool from the Alfapower driver disk.

They are for the AlfaPower PLUS and I believe they are the latest ROM versions for that expansion. Please note that these are only compatible with the AlfaPower PLUS. I have tested all of them and they are working OK.

Asking 8.50€ inclusive PayPal fees and postage WorldWide. Sent as un-tracked letter at buyer's risk (in case of damaged or lost item).

Sorry for the late reply, I did a test today with a 4GB CF card, partitioning and formatting the drive with the HDInstTool supplied on the AlfaPower driver disk. Looks like the ROM can handle larger than 2GB drives just fine.

Sure whenever you are ready :-) I think all Alfapower Plus models use SIMM sockets for RAM (instead of ZIP RAM) so should be easy to spot :thumbsup:

Ahhh, my Alfapower has ZIP RAM, does that mean it's not a plus?
If so, I take it that these ROMs are not compatible?

Not sure, as I don't have the regular AlfaPower drives anymore to test, I only have a single Plus version - that was used for testing. Also, not sure but possible that some Plus versions were made with ZIP sockets. On the other hand, GBP 5.50 inclusive postage is not a terribly huge sum to give it a try..;)
