This is my last Amiga 4000 desktop. It is in need of some TLC that I can't provide, so I thought I'd offer it up to someone who can take care of it and repair it.
It's a mostly stock 4000/030 with Seagate ST36531A 6.5G hard disk and Sony CD/DVD drive. Buster 11, socketed. It was a Video Toaster/Flyer 4000 system that someone retired and stuck in the closet for 15 years in their studio. It powers up and seems to run fine- I played WHDLoad games from a burned CD for hours.
What does NOT work:
* Fast memory. The battery leaked and was neutralized, and I tried to find bad traces but could not. Only the original 2M chip works. If you have an accelerator with local RAM, it's no big deal for you. If you have the skills to find the bad trace(s) you might get it working. I put a Z2 RAM card in it to test and everything works fine.
ZorRam or BigRam+ would fix it up also...
* Sound. It is quiet/crackly in one or both channels. Original caps still there, no repair attempt has been made.
* Top case. It's lost, but I had a sheet metal guy bend a new one and painted white. It fits properly but is not original.
* The floppy button is missing. The drive works, you just have to stick something in there to eject the disk.
$250 + shipping? I am in Augusta, Georgia, USA.
