-- urgent, if you want a 68882, please reply --
Was contacted by a couple of suppliers yesterday regarding 68882 chips.
Couple of questions about the parts required here, I have more expertise dealing with the 68060 variety ;).
1) Do you want the PGA version (meant for a socket), often pictured as a square chip with gold square in the center.
2) Does anybody know if XILINX manufactured parts are good? I don't know if they're officially authorized to produce these, but I found some that were manufactured in 2012 by XILINX, and didn't know if it was like a FreeScale situation.
3) I have been assuming, perhaps stupidly so, but I assumed the A suffix parts were like 68060 parts and can be used. I.e. XC68882RC50A. Is this true?
Thanks all. And please, again, state your interest, answers to the questions above, and your floor/ceiling prices. For whatever reason, it looks like I can get my hands on these for a good price right now.
UPDATE (7:23 EDT):
I've got two potential suppliers. One has Motorola manufactured chips, the other Xilinx. I've been talking in terms of quantity 10, and I would distribute out to you guys. I'm working on the price, but don't have too much time. I've gotten some PMs from folks, but I'm hoping you're subscribed to the thread. If so, please [re]state your interest, new interest welcomed. You're not committing to anything, but if you intend to buy, list your ceiling price and quantity desired. Also, if you *won't* take a xilinx product, state that as well. They were partners with Motorola, and I tend to think their sites may have been used to manufacture these under MOT branding, correct me if I'm wrong on this. I promise to keep the price as low as possible to make this happen. This all pretty urgent. I don't know how long I can keep these suppliers on the line. Some inventory must have been freed by an OEM. Oh, by the way, we're talking about NEW parts.

thread update -- please state interest by Monday August 12th
Hi all,
If you're interested in genuine Motorola 68882 @ 50MHz parts (new), I need to place an order soon, and need to have a few people interested.
Part number is XC68882RC50
Prices lower than eBay, certainly, and new condition.
I can keep the price reasonable, but I figure if there's not enough interest by the end of the day on August 12th, I'll notify the supplier that I'm not interested and let them go, and on between now and then we can either proceed with interest, or on Tuesday we can close this thread.
Thanks,
-P
thread update - deadline for interest is Monday Aug *12* - 68060 and 68882

Please just specify whether it's 1 or 2 (or more!) by Monday so I can make the most accurate quotation. Thanks!

Ok, let's see how we do...

Yulquen -- I can't *guarantee* the chips beyond the normal clock rating, but this is typically fine 99% of the time. I think Motorola stress tested all batches at 66MHz to rate a CPU at 50MHz. It's subjective, because you should use cooling. In the old days, an old 486 heat sink/fan would do, but there is a lot of "active" cooling product out there, and there is a lot written about it.

Jeffadam -- I need to be clear, do you want an XC68882RC50(A) or a 6882 part?
There's a difference. Maybe lookup the part number you need and tell me, so I know exactly.
UPDATE: Here's the FreeScale datasheet for 68882 parts: http://cache.freescale.com/files/32b...heet/BR509.pdf
Hope this helps...
Thread Update:
Here's how we're going to do this at this point. It looks like we've got the interest for 68060 parts, but I need to have at least 10. The jury's still out on 68882 parts, we have only 4 or maybe 5 interested parties.
The goal is to get the best price. After we conclude stating of interest on Monday, I will find out what the price will be for each part, as this depends on the quantity. I recently sold Yulquen 1 full 68060 and 1 LC 060, the full was $74 (see the recent thread). At this point, I can say that the whole point of pooling interest is to get a good price, a little better than that sale at quantity 1. Remember we're talking about *new* parts.
If anyone has a ceiling price to attach to their interest, please state it, for the record, as I will need to know when I go to my contact.
Depending on the amount of demand, we can talk about bundling shipping where appropriate, if anyone wants to do this, or I can simply handle the packaging and shipping individually. If you've bought a CPU from me, you know that I am careful about this and take full responsibility for delivery and functionality. I will know more by Tuesday where I will state everything explicitly, but I may need a few days to process everything, but I will do my best, and those that know me know that I do everything in my power to be fast and to make sure everyone is happy. Oh, also, if your delivery destination is different than what's listed in your profile, let me know, because I will quote shipping as well as unit price.
If you have any question, please ask away, now's the time!
Thanks all! Hopefully we have the quantities needed (interest) by Monday!

UPDATED: One final point...
If anyone wants a 68000, 68010, 68020, 68030, 68040, 68882 @ 33 or FN part, or any other Motorola chip, let me know, I might be able to grab one for you at the same time. Thanks!

Ok, no problem.. Looks like we're down to only a couple of these at this point, I guess.

Thanks, I have you down for three. You're one state over from me here in the US, so this should be very easy for us.
Is 3 chips your ideal quantity or would you like to have more?
------- UPDATE --------
ATTENTION ALL:
Today, Monday, August 12th, is the final day to declare interest. After today I will be determining the exact price based on quantities, so please, if you're interested in additional chips, or if you haven't yet declared interest, please do so ASAP. Tomorrow I should be able to post the final pricing and various shipping estimates.
If you're new to this thread, we're talking about brand new 68060 @ 50MHz CPUs. These will be similar to the six to ten units sold in the past couple of months, so please see those threads if you need more detail, or ask here. Functional part number is XC68060RC50. Quality/Condition is brand new. Supply is here in the USA. Guaranteed Motorola, guaranteed FULL CPU/MMU/FPU, all that you would expect. I can further guarantee that the parts have not been remarked or altered in any way, they're sealed in ISO-compliant bags. The only possible marking discrepancy would happen at the Motorola factory (see other threads, for example, marking a full chip as an EC by Motorola for supply purposes).
Regarding XC68882RC50[A] -- I don't know if we've got the numbers for these, guys, unless there's a surge in interest. Regardless, I will do what I can to get ahold of some for those that want them.
Thank you!

thread update - 68060 purchase and pricing
Hi all,
Even though we are short on interest, I agreed to purchase the 68060 chips from my contact. Again, I guarantee that these are genuine Motorola, in new condition, and have full CPU/MMU/FPU.
The discount is not huge, but it $5 less at qty (1), $7 less at 2+ units than the last chip I sold (to Yulquen, as mentioned). If someone out there wants more than 5 units, please PM me for details, I may or may not be able to supply.
Pricing:
one (1) unit: $69 USD + shipping/delivery
two (2) to five (5) units: $67 USD + shipping/delivery
Shipping, within the USA (via USPS, inquire for other methods):
$8 for 1-2 units
$10 for 3-4 units
inquire for more than 4 units
Yulquen, I have sent you a PM with the details for you.
Hooverphonique -- Please let me know if you want an XC chip, these are brand new, as I've said, so if it's acceptable, let me know. I will PM you as well.
Kremlar -- I will write you a PM with my details
Knight94 -- look for a PM from me also
Of course, anyone else who is interested, now is the time to speak up!
I think I may have posted this before, but see this thread of the last chip I sold to Yulquen if you have questions (except he also purchased an LC chip) [http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=48647]. All the same details apply here about the full versions -- expect them to be similar (same supply). Same guarantees, if you know me, or if you have followed my threads, I know a bit about 060s and there aren't many new condition units floating around at this price point. These are brand new, genuine Motorola, and again, I guarantee that they are FULL 68060 @ 50MHz CPUs with full CPU (central processing unit), MMU (memory management unit), and FPU (floating point unit -- math coprocessor).
Thanks, and those of you who are looking for 68882, we simply don't have the quantities yet (3 only, I think), but I will keep looking, and if there is additional interest, please post here.
If you haven't declared interest and want a full XC 68060, there are likely to be extras. I will have an exact count after I hear from those who declared interest but considered larger quantities.
Thanks!

--- UPDATE ---
All PM's with payment details have been sent to the parties mentioned above. If I missed you, or if you want one, now is the time to let me know. These will likely all be sold in the next couple days.
thread update -- 5 x 68060 available -- deadline Aug 20, 2013
Hi all,
I have received payments from Yulquen, Knight, and Kremlar.
I'm awaiting a response from Hooverphonique.
I have approximately five (5) units, brand new 68060, again guaranteed to be full versions with full CPU, MMU, and FPU, guaranteed for 30 days or until you can reasonably test with your hardware by replacement or refund (in that order) as described in this thread and recent other posts here in the "For Sale" section of AmiBay. If there is any new or existing interest declared, to be fair, I think it should be declared by the end of day Monday or Tuesday (August 20th, 2013), marking a week from my formal post about pricing and availability. If these are not sold through that date, I will probably withdraw the supply and contain this thread to the existing purchasers, mentioned above. The point of this thread was to pool interest for a good price, so pricing is not guaranteed beyond the date mentioned above.
Thanks all, and please ask if you have any questions.

thread update - 5 x 68060 available
I think baderman is withdrawing interest. He asked for a few hours to consider it, and sent me a PM, I don't know if he will post here, but if not, I would assume his interest is withdrawn.
Any other takers at this price? These are the last I have of the brand new batch, and I think my contact has either sold me all that he will or is completely out of them. At the same time, as I've said, this thread pooled interest for people who declared interest days/weeks before ordering, and it's not fair if I let this thread (and this discounted price) go on. So, any others, speak now. This is potentially the end of a *very* reliable supply of new, full, genuine Motorola 68060 chips. These things are nearly 20 years old, and running into new parts is not all that common any more ;).

--- UPDATE ---
For purchasers (knight94, kremlar, Yulquen): Shipments should be en route by the end of the week and received early next week for knight and kremlar, probably mid-week to end of next week for Yulquen. Sorry for the brief delay, I sited a small lead time, but my contact made this a couple of extra days (he got busy, I guess, I'm sorry). Rest assured, shipment details should be available Friday/Saturday (this week).
Hooverphonique -- can you officially confirm or withdraw interest? I sent you a PM with order details, but haven't heard back. Thanks.

Thanks, austinsom, as discussed in PM, I will reserve 2 pieces for you until you decide on the second unit.

Thanks hoover, received.
-- UPDATE --
There are still a couple of pieces available, exactly how many depends on declared interest, but we're basically at the end of the supply (1-3 pieces, I think). If you want one of these full, new 68060 CPUs (please see previous posts for more details and description), they're probably going to be gone soon. Interest declared for more than 1 or 2 pieces is not guaranteed, subject to supply.
Thanks!
