Hi All,
Can anyone advise me of the type of hex screwdriver I need to take the motherboard from an A1200 from the lower metal shielding?
top of my head is it a T8? (torx)
My tool says it's a 5mm Hex Socket :)
Torx T10 I believe.
I also just checked for curiosities sake. Metric Allen keys won't really work, but a 3/32 ball ended imperial Allen key kind of works.
Doesn't he mean the hex screws at the back, for the ports and such. They're the only thing that secures an A1200 Motherboard to the lower shield
You could be right there Steve :picard . You can never have too much information though
lol yeah Steve, but i have seen torx screws holding a motherboard in place before now :)
i use pliers on the rear mounting thingys as they are usually only finger tight anyway:lol:
the bolts on the back are 5mm.for the hex bolts.
the ones on the motherboard are t10.(mostly in 500/+)
the ones ive seen that are more common are philips or posidrive.
i use needle nose pliers on mobo bolts too
Hi all, thanks, it's the hex bolts that hold the lower shielding on.

Does anyone know which one is best to get and where? I had a check on eBay and there's more choice than I can deal with :)
