Vampire 600 - Amiga 600 FPGA accelerator - PRE-ORDER

As you may known past 3 years of my life I devoted to Amiga completely. So at the beginning there was only strong will, at the end I bring you first Amiga 600 FPGA accelerator. All of the things regarding performance will be increased in time because this is the only accelerator who can be upgraded significantly by changing complete core. Now production will start and if there are someone interested please write down because I need to see how much boards I will produce. Board price is 90 Euros + S&H and more information's about product you can find on my website www.majsta.com. Performance for now are set on 6Mips and 64Mb of FastRam (16MB autoconfig in ZorroIII space) but in few days I will have complete memory auto configurable. Regarding emulated CPU, there are MC68000,010 and partially emulated 020. Later we will include additional PCB with microSD and PS/2 support and OSD. How easy to installed on Amiga 600?

I have ACA 630 25MHZ accelerator and it isnt possible to have both accelerator running?

I m afraid that it is not possible to have 2 accelerators in same time :)

Secondly, Is your accelerator faster than my ACA 630 25MHZ ?

Oh sorry I didn't answer first question. Like you can notice on my site top performance was about 14.34Mips and that was twice better than any A600 accelerator ever. But I decide to gradually upgrade board to that performance so board will be selling with 6. something Mips. I don't know is it faster or better than ACA cards since I have never worked with them. If you run some specific programs save video and i ll do the same on my side and we can compare. Accelerator will fit on top of MC68K like you can see eon the image.

How much further will you be developing CPU cores? Are you stopping at the 020, or will you proceed on through to the 030, 040, 050, 060?

Please describe how the cores files are programmed, once the Vampire is installed in the A600.

Wow. Difficult to emulate a 68040 or further, I suppose, but an accelerated 68000 or 68010 will be interesting too. 64MB fast-ram, isn't it? Will need a 68030 emulated to address more than 16MB?

6 MIPS...You can run Sysinfo and you'll see the comparison.

Is there any compatibilty issue detected?

Yes it will be assembled it has to be because I think that due to complex soldering only few people on Amiga scene can solder something in range 0.154mm.

I m quite confused about how many people are interested in this so I won't be able to answer all because I can't keep track what's going on. I need to send boards to production in day or two so I have lot of things to do. But, don't worry no one will be forgotten.

Would a ByteBlasterII cable do for updating the core?

Yes that is perfect and most expensive so i didn't wanted to say that you need that. USB blaster is about 8USD and if you don't want you can assembly your own with few resistors. Regarding upgrade it will be something easy few seconds job and done. I will create soft for that from DOS or WIN or maybe directly from Amiga. We will see.
